Fantastic breakfast with delicious bread, organic butter, fresh fruit and much more. Excellent restaurant for dinner and lunch - very special!
Housekeeping left the door to our room wide open after cleaning - a bit of a shock to come back to after a day's sightseeing. Anyone could have entered our room and helped themselves to our belongings. Fortunately nothing was stolen but this is highly remiss. We would not have expected this of a hotel of this standard.

The location is excellent.
The room was very hot when we arrived and the windows were shut with the curtains open and the sun was blazing in. We did not expect aircon but would have expected the room to be ventilated before our arrival. The windows incidentally were the old type of scandinavian style double windows which were difficult to open and one would not stay open. the sink was not fitted with a plug so difficult to shave.
The hotel is a very old building and to be fair would be difficult to update within listed building regulations but is a little tired and could be improved.
The room was also a bit cramped and was not good value for the money

Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all excellent. Very high quality cooking and presentation. The single rooms are small but perfectly adequate. Once I'd moved to the better larger room with a balcony I was really happy.
Using booking.com appears to restrict the rooms available - it showed up as nearly full with only modest rooms available, but when we turned up it clear the hotel had more availability and our rooms were improved (for a supplement).
