Exceptional

Beautiful old hotel in a lovely setting next to the Royal palace. We'll equipped room with a huge comfortable bed. Very good breakfast choices.

A noisy party crowd kept us awake one evening.

Very good

shower was located in too small of a location, caused floor flooding and really was unusable. Whatever use could be made of the shower left the place unsuitable for use for the second person!

Very close to the castle and park

Very close to the Fredensborg castle and park, perfect for walks. Super goood breakfast, good quality in everthing and nice selection.

Squeaky floor, and movements in other rooms could be felt through the floor. Not so cosy in the area around the new lobby.

Gorgeous boutique hotel and restaurant

- Room was a good size, clean, comfortable - The restaurant and common area were super cosy - Good music, decor, lighting, atmosphere - Friendly staff

- Water from the shower splashed all over the floor

We felt like royalties!

Lovely room with view on the castle, in a beautiful and tasteful building.

I wish shampoo and conditioner would not come in individual sample size as it is not environmentally friendly.

Very good

The location and the restaurant are great, and I wished we had more time to explore the park, enjoy the garden and views. All staff were friendly and helpful. There is plenty of free parking. We really enjoyed our stay.

Although nice, the room could benefit from newer or restored floors. We could not figure out how to switch off the underfloor heating of the bathroom, which is an issue with the current energy crisis. The TV didn't work properly and may need some attention.

Disappointing for the price

Pretty loby and the whole floor downstairs, nice library

Our room was old and poorly decorated. The bathroom was also disappointing, very small sink and no complimentary bath products (stuck on the wall). Paid extra for a junior suite to make it special and it was SO not worth it. I also asked nicely to make the room special as it was for an anniversary, and although they replied to my request, nothing was done. Very basic service. Not worth the price.

A good hotel, a bit expensive but would return if in the area.

Nice and friendly staff, clean and nice, nice atmosphere and very close to Fredensborg center.

The room lacked airconditioning and was very warm. The selection at the breakfast was a bit weak. Would have liked more types of bread, more vegetables and maybe pancakes or toast for the kids. Would love to see a possibility to charge the electric car at the hotel.

Delightful location and friendly staff, but beds too small

Location, breakfast and the welcome.

The bed was too small for 2 people. 2 large duvets did not fit on the mini double bed!

Very relaxing

Lovely hotel with spacious, comfortable rooms. Excellent restaurant. A perfect location for nature walks and sightseeing.

Not a big deal, but the wifi didn't work well. Too bad we couldn't order lighter meals or snacks from the bar/restaurant.

Great location and we slept quite well. Wish I could say we ate well, too.

Our room was quite comfortable in every respect. It was quiet and clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom facilities were in good working order with no unpleasant surprises, and we felt quite safe and secure.

I was somewhat dismayed by the reception my wife and I received at the restaurant for the dinner we had booked for our first night. Following a long day of travel from Åarhus by train and bus, we were weary and hungry. We showed up 30 minutes early for our 20h00 reservation, and although there were available tables we were strongly told that it would be better to come back at 20h00. We were told that we could wait and that we would be called as soon as our table could be made ready...and then 20 minutes later we were led to an empty table that was just as empty at the time we had arrived. Bad form. On another note, we were quite disappointed by the breakfast at Fredensborg Store Kro. The selection of breakfast items was quite small compared to other hotels we stayed at in the days leading up to our arrival, and the quality of the food on offer was no better and in some cases was not as good. In particular, there were no non-dairy milk options available, and in our case this was something of a showstopper. The breakfast is included in the price of the room, but that does not mean it should be treated as an afterthought.
