It was lovely and clean in a great location for the amenities. The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. Lots of beautiful walks nearby and loads of options for food and drink on the doorstep.
The only issue we had was the noise from the road. It was quite warm when we stayed and so we had the window open. The room is advertised as overlooking the river. We could see the river just about from our room but it was on the other side of the very busy main road through Ambleside. With the windows closed the traffic noise was bearable.
