This building used to be the Austrian Consulate Palace in Venice, so it has historic value and beauty. The location is great, 9min to the Rialto Bridge, 7-8min to St. Marco, and, as a bonus 1min to the famous bridge from the last Mission: Impossible movie fight scene. And despite all that centrality, it is hidden in a quiet cul-de-sac. The room is very spacious and offers nice canal views. The owners were kind enough to give us a call before checkin, making sure we were able to find the hotel and offered to help if needed. I rate them 9.5/10, rounded up.
Minor things: As in most hotels in Venice, there was no breakfast served. The AC was kind of noisy (but still good enough to cool the room in August). We saw the kitchenette area just before check-out by chance, we were not informed earlier.

This was a magical place to stay! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left. I couldn’t wait to get back after every excursion and sit by the canal. Everything was perfect and the art deco design was above any expectations. I can’t say enough about our experience and how the owners art was integrated in with older art. It can’t be explained in words. You would have to see for yourself. Although I wouldn’t bring a two year old…my 18 year old was very impressed. Venice was the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen and was my favorite part of Italy. But note, I am an artsy female and everyone has their own cup of tea. But if you want to stay in a place that feels like Venice….this is it.
If I had my personal preference…I would say a coffee station, Because I drink it a lot. I noticed this is not the norm in Italy but it would be a great addition.
