Everything! Location was lovely, layout/space were great. Lots of extras, little chocolates, coffee machine and kettle, fan - lots of facilities. The host (Moss, from the Kingdom of Morocco) was LOVELY, so kind, helpful, very welcoming and accommodating. Great suggestions of a local bakery. There's even a shared kitchen available, and a fridge, which was a great addition. Parking was easy, local street parking, £5 for a permit for the night (and trust me, parking in York, you'll never get that cheap anywhere). I promise we will be back sometime in the future, and I'm not even looking anywhere else, it's straight back here!
I didn't really dislike anything, there's a couple bits of paintwork that could use a tidy, or little things like that. But that's being really picky, absolutely nothing that's a problem or concern whatsoever.

Closeness to York centre. The use of a communal kitchen , which was kept clean. There is an amazing bakery two doors away with generous hot bacon rolls for the morning and coffee. Very affordable.
No heated rail to dry towels . The shower was awkward to regulate the temperature.

Location was great for both going into York and to the train station. Owner takes personal interest in keeping his guests happy.
Did not serve breakfast, but there was a bakery a few doors away. No lifts.
