I don’t as pleasantly surprised but how nice this property was. The room was so clean and well equipped. We were very comfortable.

We stayed at Super 8 Salinas for a last‑minute Labor Day reservation since everything in Monterey was fully booked. The room was clean but very small, and the price felt too high for what we got. It’s about 35 minutes from the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which was convenient.
The biggest issue was the hot water, the shower kept switching between hot and cold, and in winter that would be miserable.
The surrounding area in Salinas didn’t feel comfortable for us. There were homeless camps across the street, and my husband felt uneasy walking to Chick‑fil‑A because of how many people were lingering around. Even my child mentioned it felt “ghetto.”
Clean room, but I wouldn’t stay here again because of the price, water issues, and neighborhood safety concerns.
