the hotel is gorgeous, a lot of art and beautifully designed. The room was specious, spotless clean and well maintained and equipped. Staff was kind and personal, easy and quick check in and out. Recommended!!
I had to wait at the lobby for a couple hours after check out, and there was not really a sitting/waiting area. There is a large ottoman that I set on, but would be nice to have some sort of a Lobby-like wait area.
Even with that- the staff was super accommodating and made sure I was as comfortable as can be.

The location was very good for walking and the room reasonably appointed.
Front desk staff was adequate but mostly indifferent. The room rates probably spiked for Spoleto (which I was not there for) but the value was not good: No in house food service (restaurant next door, no breakfast doesn't count), no frills in bathroom (lack of hooks, facial mirrors) and unimpressive towels. It's almost like Marriott took a charming hotel (which I'm guessing it once was) and plucked the soul out of it.
