Perfect place to relax.

Centrally located access to all of the tourist sites. Breakfasts were complimentary and exceeded expectations.

Nothing to complain about. Everyone and everything was good. Safe and secure locals friendly and accommodating.

I felt safe here, as a solo traveler, staff great but price quite high for the amenities.

I liked the staff, location, cleanliness and idea of roof top bar should I indulge. Staff were over the top in being helpful towards my needs.

“Included breakfast” was decent but was in a restaurant doors from the hotel, which I didn’t mind, but I was highly embarrassed when on the second morning I received a billing folder in which I was required to tip. Apparently the morning before I did not tip, as I never experienced this type of “included breakfast” situation in another restaurant so obviously the waiters targeted me as a non tipper. That embarrassed me as I always tip but was not accustomed to this type of situation. To me “included” when paying $250 a night means totally included. No one made me aware of protocol. On my second night there was thumping music. Be it from the rooftop restaurant or the street as it was Easter holiday. Sleepless night!

hotel is very modern and was remodeled with extreme attention to detail.

too many stairs within the room between entrance, living, bath, shower, or toilet levels. A chance for fall accident, especially at night if you try to get to the toilet.

Our stay was fantastic, and I would stay here again.

The 1850 is located on the main square where all of the life of the city is happening! It is central to everything that a visitor might want to see. The hotel itself is modern, well furnished and comfortable. The staff is cheerful and very accommodating.

Very friendly and helpful staff, central location, very quiet room despite the all day and night commotion in the lively square outside. Comfortable bed, roomy accommodation.

Room was a little dark; the rooftop bar had pounding music making it unpleasant to sit at.

Old world elegance and stellar service in the historic center of Guanajuato

Excellent location right in the historic center. The hotel is located on a beautiful little plaza with a gazebo garden at its center. At night, the mariachi all gather so it's quite magical. It's also a pedestrian area so that makes it super quiet and charming. The staff of Hotel 1850 are wonderfully helpful. We also loved the breakfast next door at Casa Valadez, an elegant old world eatery with the best service and a variety of delicious breakfast/brunch packages. Coffee in the room was appreciated since breakfast doesn't start until 9am - but there's also a Starbucks right next door that opens earlier. Rooms were spacious and the bed was super comfortable, the shower amazing and we loved the Occitane toiletries provided.

This hotel has beautiful bones and could be simply stunning with a bit of remodeling. The decor is outdated and they could also make better use of extra/wasted space by expanding the very sad fitness center. Our rooms had windows facing the interior of the hotel, which has a lovely glass ceiling. So we did get natural light from the ceiling, just no exterior view to the plaza or street. This was a surprise but ended up being fine as it was probably more quiet without an exterior window. I was told they do have exterior-view rooms that cost more. I was alone in my room so didn't mind the bathroom having no door but my sister was staying with her teen son so they could've appreciated a room to the bathroom for showers and such. Although the rooms were very clean, I'd give them a B as I found a scrap of paper on the floor and a tiny hair in my sink. Otherwise, very clean.

Beautiful, clean and quiet hotel in center of town !

The hotel was right in the center. Busy and so spirited with people. Once, in the hotel and in your room too quiet as can be! So comfortable. The staff were so helpful and friendly. Highly recommend!!!

I like carpet on the floor but they supply you with slippers and/ or use your socks. I still loved the hotel.

We arrived very late and the staff was super accommodating. The room was quiet and bright. The rooms were impeccably cleaned every day. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I look forward to staying here again on our next trip to GTO. One more thing, you can't beat the location. You walk out the door and you are in the middle of the action.

Lovely hotel, lovely location, lovely staff

Everything. Perfect location, cute balcony overlooking the Jardin, close to everything. Comfortable room, luxurious bathroom, waterfall shower, luxury amenities. Wonderful, very helpful staff with excellent English and good recommendations for things to see and places to eat. Very tasty, large breakfast (loved their mole!) in a nice restaurant two doors down, or a voucher for Starbucks next door.

A little noise from the Jardin in the evening, but that was part of the fun for us. There are quieter rooms facing the courtyard for those who don't want to enjoy the festivities from their room. Breakfast starts a little late (9 am) for those trying to get an early start, but that is not the fault of the hotel, and they do offer Starbucks vouchers. I imagine driving and parking in this town would be difficult, but again not the fault of the hotel.

Wonderful luxury property.

This is a first class, luxury property. The staff are supremely well trained. Super responsive. They recognized my birthday with a card and a fruit tart. Very nice touch. Pricey, but tons of value for the money.

they give you a breakfast coupon for a restaurant that is 20 meters from the entrance. The food at Valadez is really poor. The coupon is valid for breakfast packages. The first I chose was inedible. Really weird taste. Fortunately, Valadez allowed a simple substitution, but it took some convincing. That is the only negative experience. Everything else was 10+
