The jungle setting of this hotel is just stunning, we loved our afternoons watching peacock and monkeys by the pool and it felt like a retreat. We all enjoyed a massage on the open air spa terrace. I wish we'd spent longer than 3 nights here.
We had the best breakfasts of all our time in Sri Lanka here. Beautiful presentation, plentiful and they catered a vegan request without hesitation.
Cinnamon the dog was the best companion pottering around the poolside and always up for a fuss.
Rooms in the villa were spacious and clean with good aircon.
The villa could do with some TLC throughout, and it is a minor inconvenience to walk along the alley to get to the main hotel but this didn't spoil our stay.

We stayed in the deluxe king suite, which was separate to the main house. Massive beautiful bedroom and bathroom. Pool was lovely. The whole place was very quiet and lovely to relax in, as well as being less than 15 minutes walk to the beach. The massage facility was great.
The room is advertised as a suite, which means that it should have a separate bedroom and lounge. However in fact the large lounge was shared with the other room in the villa. This is very bad misleading advertising. The photos show a hob in the kitchen, this does not work and looks like it never has. The cupboards in the kitchen were full of dust and obviously had not been cleaned in months. Access to the main house was by a dark alley for a couple of hundred meters, then another 100 meters along the busy main road. This is a relatively expensive property for the location. At half the price it would have deserved a 9.5, but you should get what you pay for.
