About this cabin rental
Situated in Oregon, this attractive cabin for $140 per night is a great choice for your next break. This is a custom-built, two bedroom, one bath home located in the rural Cascade Mountains of Southern Oregon. It is nestled on a wooded acre near the town of Prospect. (population 500). The home is sided with rough-sawn cedar and the interior walls are done with cedar and pine. The Great Room is highlighted by a lodgepole pine spiral staircase. The visitor is welcomed by a comfortable front porch with Adirondack chairs for seating and there is a large patio area and fire pit behind the cabin for outdoor entertaining. However, this is not a party cabin and guests are limited to the number of persons agreed upon in the reservation. The cabin is not suitable for children under the age of twelve. The interior is tastefully designed with relaxation and comfort in mind. Visitors will feel at ease surrounded by natural wood walls and custom woodworking throughout. The master bedroom has a king-size Sleep Number bed by Select Comfort. The smaller upstairs bedroom has a Sleep Number queen-size bed. There is internet access at the cabin as well as local TV programming, streaming, DVD, and turntable for a large record collection. The grounds are well-kept, encircled by a young ponderosa pine stand. If you are looking for a peaceful place to get away from your hectic life you will find it here. There is no phone but there is cell phone coverage for most carriers. An amazing cozy cabin, with oodles of character, on a wooded lot! Extremely well-built by a true artisan with many creative hand-crafted touches made from natural wood. No doubt the builder had a great time doing all the finishing details. The wood floors are absolutely exquisite!
Communication with the hosts was easy - prompt replies, very gracious.
We stayed at Red Blanket Cabin in order to visit Crater Lake National Park. Unfortunately, most of the park was inaccessible due to snow (we did see the lake, but no overlooks or hiking 😕). We were very thankful to have such a cozy place to "while away the hours" since we did not spend 2 days seeing Crater Lake as originally planned. Instead we watched several movies on Netflix, played cards, read, watched sports on TV, worked one of the jigsaw puzzles in the game stash, and admired all the hand -crafted details of the cabin. All in all, a delightful getaway. Thank you!!

What a comfortable, warm, beautiful place to stay. It was close enough for day trips to Crater Lake to hike and a perfect place to return in the evening. We enjoyed the outdoor fireplace and loved the custom interior with all the unique wood touches. It was spotless and had all the kitchen conveniences we needed. Loved the hike from the local grocery store and found everyone helpful and friendly.

This is by far the best cabin we've ever stayed. Beautifull place and surroundings. The cabin is well equipped - anything you might think of is there. We truly enjoyed our two days here and could've easily stayed even more. It's such an amazing place. Thank you very much.

Came upon this listing when searching for a place to stay while visiting Crater Lake. Red Blanket Cabin was perfect! Rustic but modernized, well equipped kitchen, all the extras you might need but didn’t pack…..and so private! The outdoor shower and tubs were a plus and welcome after a day of hiking. Needed bug spray and they brought some right over!! Loved loved loved the outdoor shower and tubs. Also let us know about meteor shower to watch at night. Can’t wait to go back with my fiancé!!

An idyllic refuge for two couples. The entire cabin is a work of art and obviously a labor of love for the owners. We had a lovely, memorable stay. The owners have thought of everything to make the cabin comfortable, convenient and delightful. Some of the things we loved:
• The amazing woodwork! OMG the woodwork! Everywhere you turn there are artistic touches and skillful use of found pieces of wood, like all the cabinet door handles. And of course the gorgeous spiral staircase.
• The lovely backyard garden, with solar lights that come on at night
• The four different lovely places to sit outside.
• The enclosed outdoor shower and soaking tubs
• The very comfy SleepNumber beds
• The totally equipped kitchen, with every pot and pan, utensil and appliance one could need for a month’s stay, never mind a couple of days
• A whole closet full of plushy towels
• Nice bathrobes
• The variety of slippers (some of them quite funny) plus outdoor shoes
• The “honor cupboard” with snack bars for sale at cost, on the honor system.
• The wealth of information provided in the binders about local restaurants, hikes, etc., on top of the lovely book collection
• The cool collection of vinyl records – what a hoot!
• The proximity to beautiful hikes along the Upper Rogue River; and the very generous offer to provide a shuttle if one wanted to walk the trail one-way and get picked up.
I got mucho kudos from my east coast relatives for finding this wonderful place.

My niece and her husband stayed at this beautiful property on their honeymoon. It was even prettier than the on line photos. They were blown away by all of the nice touches and said it felt like a luxury resort. My husband and I will be renting it in the future. The owners are communicative and lovely to work with.

Very nice experience. Great cabin with terrific outdoor space. Very quiet and had everything there for a couple of nights stay besides food. Coffee and cooking supplies/ seasonings were all provided. Would have loved to have more time there but was a great base for visiting Crater Lake.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this cottage. The inside was welcoming, clean, and comfortable. The bed and linens were cozy and comfortable. The bathroom linens were plentiful. Cooking in the kitchen was pleasant and I appreciated the herbs and spices provided. There was plenty of space for the two of us.
The outdoor spaces were awesome and we enjoyed all of them, including the outdoor shower. It was a private, peaceful, and beautiful space.
Jesse and Samantha have done an excellent job at making sure their guests enjoy their stay at their cottage. We appreciated all of the information they provided on hiking around Prospect and we were impressed with the beautiful trails along the Rouge River less than 20 minutes away.
We will definitely stay here again if we decide to return to the area.

Picked for it’s closeness to Crater Lake and would definitely go back. Loved using the outside fireplace and snuggling with blankets. The large yard is beautiful and well maintained. Loved that it was such a secluded location. Had everything we needed. Owners had thoughtfully stocked this cabin.
It’s only drawback: The private loft bedroom does not have a half bath so our third person had to come downstairs to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. She did not mind but just something to consider if more than 2 people stay there. You could also sleep on the sofa downstairs.

Between the 4 of us, there was absolutely nothing more we could have asked for! It was perfect: beautiful, clean, well stocked, and lots of small touches that made our stay so very nice! Cannot praise this place & it’s management enough!

What a wonderful cabin the owners built. You can tell it took not only a lot of work and thoughtfulness but heart as well. Great interior and yard. We ate breakfast outside and later in the day enjoyed a shady spot to read and relax. So peaceful. It was our last stop on a road trip and we could not have asked for a more calming and relaxing place to be. Easy to find, close to Crater Lake along with good hikes nearby. Very comfortable bed. We would stay again and will if we are in the area. Thank you!

Lovely cabin not too far from Crater Lake National Park or many hiking trails south of Prospect. The owners stock it with lots of amenities (like bikes, snowshoes, etc.). Enjoyed it very much, especially the setting (great landscaping). It's remote, so make sure you gas up before arriving and bring in the food you need.
