A GREAT RESORT WITH A GREAT SELECTION OF FOOD CHOICE. PRESENTATION FLAVOUR AND SERVICE IS COMMENDED. MELI AND STAFF ARE A CREDIT TO THIS RESORT. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
SOME STAFF NEED TO LEARN A LITTLE FRIENDLYNESS.

Beautiful island. Lovely staff, great pina cola’s… lots of opt in activities to do. Food was good as well.
Staff were introducing a new ordering system and it was very slow. Pool deck needs a revamp

Food is the best in the islands

Lovely place, nice restaurant/bar area. The shared bathroom/shower area was always clean and well kept. Food was nice and plenty of choice at each meal time.
There aren’t a huge variety of activities to do if only there for a couple of days, the list of activities is set for each day. The swimming pool doesn’t get much sun on it to get warm. Sea is quite choppy and busy with boats so difficult to get in/out for snorkelling.

Good staff.
The overwhelmingly positive reviews set up for a total disappointment, nearby Barefoot Kuata offers much better comfort and facilities for the same price. Very basic room, shared facilities for a premium price.

The food is amazing, well portioned, fresh, varied, very impressive for such a remote location! The staff is so friendly and there are plenty of planned activities you can take part in (free and charged) which means your days can end up busier than you initially planned!
The bungalows only have fans and despite the place behind very clean with fresh bed sheets, the mattress and pillows smelled of sweat and humidity, it didn't make for the most comfortable nights.

Beautiful island with amazing beach and best snorkelling we've seen in Fiji. The house/bure was comfortable and clean. Food was very good, but not the best one we've had in Yasawa. Lots of activities every day to fill your day.
I wish there was an option to buy a smaller meal plan - we don't normally eat lunch (or if we do, it's just a piece of bread), so we felt overeaten every day.
The island itself is beautiful but not possible to ho outside of the resort by yourself without a guide, as there's a village nearby. I wish I knew that before I stayed, I was counting on exploring the island by myself.

Only thing missing was AC in the cheaper Bure‘s :-)

Amazing staff, the most accommodating and welcoming people! The bure was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was modern and had a lovely outdoor shower (still private though!). The food included was exceptional every time. Every day there were different activities to do and keep you occupied from morning to night if you wanted, wish we had more days there to spend time on all the activities! We went as a girls trip (5 females) and will definitely be back!

the location, the facilities, the staff
the food- I was served undercooked/raw chips by staff the chips where white and some even black they were rotted and staff could visibly see this and still served them.
I did like that there’s not aircon in the bedrooms.

Excellent location. Great snorkelling and opportunity to do boat snorkelling trips. Kids club was excellent - kids could come and go as they desired and was included in the accommodation tariff. Food was excellent.
Very minor negative - no hot water in the bure for the few days prior to leaving. The only abrasive staff member we met was a member of the housekeeping team who was upset that we hadn't vacated the bure by 10:05 (husband was using the bathroom). Even though I tried to explain that we would not be long I was made to feel that we were making her life/job difficult. This was despite the fact that we were happy to forego housekeeping on a number of days during our stay.

definitely our favourite resort we stayed at in our 2 week trip. the staff were amazing and happy to help with anything. my boyfriend proposed to me here, and the team set up the most beautiful dinner setting on the beach. The food, was easily our favourite thing about the hotel. we were shocked at how much food, and how much better quality the meals were compare to all the other resorts we stayed in, despite all being the same price. 5 course meal for dinner was great!
the only thing we didn’t like was the fact at dinner, you had to sit with people who you didn’t know unless able to book a table at the front. (limited spaces). this was okay some nights as was night chatting to people, but other nights when you want a romantic dinner it was not so ideal.

The staff were lovely. I particularly liked the village visit and how the resort has benefited the local community as well as chatting with the new resort manager on her work with the spaying and caring of the local cat population.
Everything was good on the island. The transfer to the island was a bit expensive.

The beach is one of the best we’ve ever stayed on.
Staff and management were all friendly and extremely helpful
Activities were excellent with a variety of free and paid for options
not a negative, but I would have liked the option of paying for meals as required rather than the mandatory meal plans as I struggle to eat 3 meals a day in the heat

Wonderful staff members, very pleasant stay. Lots of activities and loungers on beach.

The staff were very friendly and always happy to help. The beach was incredible. It rained on the last day while we were in the comfortably warm water and it felt like paradise. The food was absolutely delicious. Loved it here, would definitely come back!
The bugs were a bit aggressive sometimes but I understand it's an island. We stayed in the Point beachfront suites. The doors weren't fully sealed so sometimes millipedes would enter the room. I think the same goes for the ceiling because tiny geckos could get in. When we were in the restaurant, a bug flew right in my ear.
Not sure what they can really do about this issue though.

Amazing stay at octopus resort - the staff were very friendly and helpful and we loved the snorkeling, diving, organised hike (very steep but stunning views at the top) and beach front. The compulsory meal plan is a bit expensive and we would have been good with just 2 meals. But it was very tasty! Would really recommend the island and resort.

The food was excellent and the staff are so friendly. There is no culture more peaceful and happy than the Fijians. The beds were very comfortable. The massages at the spa were top notch. The ladies running the spa were so professional.
We stayed for 7 nights in a garden bungalow. There was a ceiling fan but it is so hot and humid until midnight that it is difficult to sleep. The reef in front of the resort has seen some decline. There were fish present but the coral is in rough shape compared to some premium sites. The access to snorkelling is a narrow channel that can be tricky to get through since the current is strong. Also the bay in front of the resort is exposed and can have rough waves when there is a wind blowing.

The dining package all be it an obligatory add on cost to the Booking.com advertised room cost is exceptional.
The beach, the activities programme and the general facilities are excellent
Octopus Resort were unable to provide me with the advertised and contracted room type.
Booking.com misrepresented the facilities available in the rooms I am currently in discussion with Booking.com regarding this unfortunately Booking.com seem not to want to engage in the discussion all be it the Octopus Resort have complained to Booking.com on the misrepresentation that Booking.com are publishing

By far our favourite resort in Fiji! Stayed a week over Christmas and we received presents at the door in the morning from the staff - so lovely! Best parts of our stay was the food, the sand between our toes in the dining area, yummy cocktails, exceptional friendly staff and loads of activities daily. Perfect snorkeling conditions, stepping off the beach - we will be back!

The food was really lovely and fresh meals daily. Nice Fijian style Bure with lovely outside shower.
I definitely wouldn’t rate the service highly at all. Compared to other places we stayed on this trip in the Yasawas (their sister resorts) theirs could have been a 2 out of 10 for me. There was little to no service. No name tags given to staff so I cant complain about a particular member of staff. But overall I wouldn’t come back because the service was so shocking. No smiles, no Fijian spirit. No one showing us to our tables for dinner. No one there helping us order drinks (bar always left empty) There seemed to be no direction for the staff, always sitting down and when I asked “hi sorry could you please tell me where the person is for the kids club” they all said ow yes just go to the hut and wait. So I went, and everyday like clock work there are two men just sitting in the talking. Same time at 9am. Didn’t smile, or greet us for meals. Just seemed so much like a chore for many of them being there. Not exciting to be around. Especially when we spoke to two women and a man to book us dinner with lobster and they all forgot and didn’t book us a table on the balcony. Along with terrible service, the pool is soooooo run down with all the walls bubbling and falling apart. You are walking on the bubbles when in the pool. Such a gross pool! But the beach is very dangerous to swim in so it was the pool everyday mostly. I wasn’t aware the beach wasn’t safe for children. Extras that could be focused on to improve would the mice that are crawling around the resort. Traps should be set for these, and they were crawling next to us on the beach beds. Along with the amount of ants that were in Bure’s. Compared to your sister location resort they don’t have these issues, or if they do, have put systems in place so this doesn’t affect the guests stay. Overall I wouldn’t say this is a 4 star resort, it is tired and rundown with staff who didn’t care to be there.

Bure was a terrific mix of traditional rustic and mod cons, spacious outdoor shower plus hammock, beach bed and thatched umbrella on own stretch of beach. Beautiful garden setting, organic layout. Fun professionally run bar with friendly showman Tom. Fantastic food and great range of options, especially at lunchtime, and five course unfailingly delicious meal at night.
Activities often cancelled. Transfer on and off boat not safely managed. Make sure you ask helpers to take your hand luggage while exiting and entering boat as swell rocks boat and you need two hands.

The food was exceptional. The yoga was beyond expectation - two one-hour sessions a day ran by a fully trained instructor. Some staff were particularly engaging and attentive. I loved the beach front bures; a variety of private seating was provided (outside swinging day bed; hammock; sun loungers under an umbrella as well as sun chairs and day bed on the verandah). Guests varied from young backpackers staying in the dorm, to older people. The property was not large, which enabled mingling between guests.
We travelled to the island on the island's boat, which was an inflatable speed boat for 16 passengers. The weather was extremely rough and the trip took two hours. Worries re safety for young children. Not good for those who experience travel sickness, with no sick bags provided (think vomiting on the floor of the boat). We travelled with grandchildren and I would say the resort is not suitable for children under three. There is only one pool which is really designed for divers - with most of the pool being 2.8m deep. The kid's club didn't really operate, and if it did, it tried to accommodate the needs for 3-12yos (which it didn't do well). The kid's club was near the pool, and not being gated, meant children could have wandered off into the pool. Unfortunately we were on the island during unusually bad weather conditions, which meant the beach was unsuitable for children and snorkelling; it could be different in finer weather.

Octopus resort was a truly idyllic, stunning location with such a special connection between staff, guests and the local village. The food was particularly wonderful, and the sunsets from our beachfront bure were unforgettable. We stayed with our 2 year old toddler, who was very well cared for and entertained. There was a fantastic array of activities to participate in every day, and we loved being able to walk straight out the door and down the beach to snorkel along magical coral reefs with loads of marine life. An unforgettable experience.
The pool was nice but a bit smaller than most resorts, however this was more than made up for by the close proximity to the beach and many other benefits.
