About this condo rental
Located in Destin, this attractive condo for $650 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. This complete remodeled 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom unit is one of the larger units (there are 2 sizes) within Sterling Sands with living room and master bedroom access to the 25' long gulf front balcony! The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare a meal at the end of a long day on the beach. The brand new dining room table seats 6 and has a wonderful view of the water. There are two seagrass bar stools for extra seating. The living room has a new queen pull out sleeper sofa, loveseat and chair for you to relax in at night while watching the new 55" flat screen TV. A wet bar with wine cooler is in the living room close to the extra-large balcony. Granite has been added to the wet bar area, also. A king size bed in the master bedroom has a view of the beach and water -- lay in bed and watch the dolphins playing right in front of you! There is a 55" flat screen TV so you can watch your favorite show after a long day at the beach. The master bath features an extra large, jetted, whirlpool tub and a newly tiled separate shower. The guest room has a queen bed and bunks so you can sleep 6 and not use the sleeper! We have just added a 55" flat screen TV to this room too! This guest room has full private access to the second full bathroom. There is an eating table with 4 chairs and two chaise lounges on the balcony for relaxing and watching the evening sunset. There is also a full size washer and dryer in the unit to keep up with your laundry while you are away. We have also made our outside beach closet available to our guests! There are sand chairs, some floats, sand toys, etc. for your enjoyment. Please feel free to add anything you buy and don't wish to take home for future guests. The beach is accessed by two well-maintained boardwalks. They are lighted at night and each have two shower heads for cleaning up as you leave the beach. There is a small exercise room on property available for your free use. Important: Please note that this unit has a max occupancy of 6 guests, including children. These are rules set by the State of Florida and the State of Florida Fire Codes. If you arrive with more than the max occupancy listed, the HOA will not allow you to check-in and you will not be entitled to a refund. Arrival notes: Sterling Sands has open parking in the outside lot. You will need to check in at the HOA office at the West end of the parking garage to register your vehicle, and obtain a parking pass. If you check in after hours, please go to the HOA office the next morning to register your vehicle. Note: Prior to arrival, you will receive a link to register. At that time, you will need to register for your stay and purchase wristbands $15.00 + tax, for any guests older than 5 years old. Guests receive a welcome kit with small dishwasher detergent, dish soap, sponge, a roll of paper towels, and laundry detergent. There will be an initial trash liner in each receptacle and a set of toilet paper and soaps for each bathroom provided. Guests will need to replenish supplies for longer stays. Directly across the street is an amusement park, and go-carts and mini-golf are walking distance. Please make sure and print the rental agreement which is attached to the VRBO reservation form as a PDF download so you have it for your records. Stayed here with my husband, two kids, 10 and 12, and my mom. Beautiful condo! Newly renovated. Had EVERYTHING we needed. Beautifully decorated, but not so perfect you didn’t feel like you couldn’t curl up on the sofas and relax. Spectacular view. Plenty of towels, new pots and pans, silverware, kitchen utensils, coffee pot. All new:) So nice to not feel like you are the millionth guest sleeping on the same sheets:) Large TVs in every room with cable and Netflix. Sterling Sands staff keeps the facility almost spotless. The security presence is noticeable and appreciated. Code and wristband required to get to the pool. The only issue we had was with the king bed. The linens were nice and comfortable, but the mattress was EXTREMELY firm. I like a firm mattress, but it was difficult to sleep on. I know a new mattress is expensive, especially considering this is probably a new one that was replaced when the condo was renovated, but I think it might be worth the cost to change it out. It was the only issue with this condo. We would love to come back to this same condo next year, but those uncomfortable nights that I slept on that mattress might make me rethink that decision and I hate that!!

Nice place, as pictured, on 3rd floor (of 8). Balcony stays shady all day. BRs on opposite ends of condo offered adults and teens separate spaces (and bathrooms). Main road (98) is big and busy. Definitely a tourist town but we enjoyed it all as first timers. Grab great food at Dewey Destin’s (the hidden gem is on Calhoun not Harbor Blvd) - picnic table outdoor seating on the water where you can enjoy daily Gulf catches.

This place was amazing. We were able to see dolphins from our balcony and got to experience sharks being caught on the beach! The low rating is strictly based on issues we had and the lack of communication from the contact person. When we arrived the cleaning door that was locked was beeping from a low battery. We had to listen to that the first night and into the next day but it was taken care of the 2nd day of our stay. For 2+ days we had no internet/cable. We had to go outside to make phone calls. Having 3 kids and having several rainy nights this was a huge inconvenience. We called Cox and they got ahold of the contact for the property, Barry. We then heard from him and he said he was calling Cox after getting off the phone with us to address the issue. This was not the case as the next 2 days we did not have cable/internet still. Upon getting further along to higher up people in Cox we were told that the account was suspended due to non payment. The next day we tried calling Barry several times and his phone was shut off. I obviously asked for a discount. I was told that once we left the internet and cable was working conveniently. Still waiting to hear about a discount. Had to contact VRBO and will have to address things further if I don’t hear back.

Our family of 5 had a wonderful stay at the condo. It was very nice, had everything we needed, beautiful view and quick and easy access to the pool and beach. The private beach was not too crowded like a lot of the big condo complexes and the included beach chairs/umbrella were a nice bonus as well. I would definitely stay here again

This is the second year staying in the unit and it just as good as the first time. The unit was beautiful and the amenities were perfect for our two kids. Can’t wait to book for year 3.

This condo is a perfect place for family stays. Plenty of room and up to date decor and furnishings. Very well kept and Barry was amazing about contacting when we had to reach out a couple times. We will definitely be back!!

Our week at the beach was wonderful! The condo was perfectly clean and welcoming when we arrived. Kitchen was appointed nicely, the finishes were great and everything worked great. The location is wonderful, and the pool on the property is great! The beach chairs are included but you will have to tip the guys working the beach if you want a front row seat closest to the water. My only complaint… and it’s probably just personal preference, but the the king size bed in the main bedroom was very very very firm. Like the firmest I’ve ever slept on. We ended up picking up a mattress pad and additional foam padding from Walmart so that we could sleep in it. If you like a firm bed, this one’s for you, but if not, bring some padding. Everything else was great. Would stay here again… with our mattress pads HA!

Love Destin!
Very nice location, near many activities. The beach was the best, waking up with the sound of the waves, seeing the sunrise and the sunset on the beach. Having local attractions the teens could walk to and have fun. This was our second time at the Sterling Sands, will be back again.

Overall Great Stay!
This property was gorgeous. The unit was very well furnished and decorated. The amount of beach equipment was perfect and kept our toddler entertained the whole week. The grounds were well maintained and beach service was good. The hot tub was out of commission all week due to waiting on a part but that was out of their hands. Only complaint I would have for the overall stay would be the amount of bath towels in the unit. There were only 5 towels for 6 people. We made due by using a beach towel for the 6th person and doing multiple loads of laundry per day. Overall, this was a great stay and would stay here again on our next trip to Destin.

Property was exactly as described. My family of six (including 4 kids ages 9-16) had a great time. No suggestions for improvement…unless there’s some magic essence that can be sprayed into the condo to help improve the attitudes of surly children. 😂 Thanks for a great week!!

Great visit with our kids. Had a lot of things in the area to entertain our kids within walking distance. Beach has powder white sand and awesome for the kids to play in. Pool was really warm as well since ocean was still fairly cold. We will definitely be back to the Destin area.
