Short walk to the New beach Access and our Private Beach Access. Dragonfly is NOT your typical beach rental house. Designed for the discriminating guest, ,NOT FOR PARTYING but for relaxation, serenity, rejuvenation. and romance. Located in the award winning and magazine featured Village of Tannin in Orange Beach, our newly constructed architectural cottage strikes the perfect balance of old world charm and modern convenience, with a decidedly French accent reminiscent of Provence. Overlooking the Gulf of Mexico and our own private Lake, she is a rare combination of privacy and central location. The Gulf State Park is outside our door with 13 miles of bike trails, zip lines, Lake Shelby for swimming and kayaking, and the longest gulf fishing pier and golf. The beach is right across the street. Our 2 bedroom(+ plush built in hall bunk beds), 2 and half bath, home sleeps six and is filled with charming features sure to delight even the weariest of wayfarers. Walk barefoot on the cool tile floors, let the warmth of the board and batten walls envelope you and sink into the plush, Swiss style beds. Watch the panoramic sunrise over the gulf from the upper veranda while lounging on the swinging bed while sipping a latte. Downstairs, you’ll enjoy a cozy, light filled living room and a flat screen TV with DVD. The dining room comfortably seats six with room for 2 more at the breakfast bar. The gourmet kitchen features imperial granite counters, a hooded double oven, an espresso machine and a French door refrigerator with bottom freezer. Off the kitchen is an over sized veranda with 2 ceiling fans, a table that seats 8 as well as a bench and Adirondack chairs. You’ll also enjoy the convenience of a powder room on the main floor, discreetly hidden behind a delightful stylized sliding barn door. Venture upstairs to the two bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. The first suite has a beautiful iron King bed with a luxurious Swiss style linens. In the bathroom, you’ll find an over sized step in shower with a built in bench and a rainwater shower head. The second suite boasts a delightful canopy Queen bed with luxury linens and the bathroom also has a rainwater shower head. Both suites have wall mounted flat screen TVs and ceiling fans and open to an over sized veranda with 2 ceiling fans, rocking chairs,chaise lounges and a hanging bed with panoramic views of the gulf, the lake and state park. Also upstairs, you’ll find a washer and dryer as well as a comfortable set of built in bunk beds with memory foam toppers. Sit on the front porch swing and watch the kids at the pool. You’ll feel a world away at Dragonfly Cottage, but you’ll only be minutes from everything Orange Beach and the gulf coast have to offer. Hike or bicycle through the 6000 acre state park adjacent to the quaint Village of Tannin, or fish in Tannin’s stocked lakes, or zipline or kayak on Lake Shelby. You’re only a short drive from over 100 restaurants and just minutes from grocery shopping. Tannin has deeded beach access just a short 4 minute stroll away, or there is a public access on the right of the Phoenix Condos which is even closer.. And our neighborhood Olympic sized pool is just steps away from our home. Your pleasure and safety are our number one concern. Loved the porches! Sunrise at the Dragonfly Cottage is unforgettable. The decor is just what you need to feel like you're getting away from it all, and we loved walking our dog in the quiet neighborhood and on the state park trails. Easy to cook meals here too. Would love to return!

We had a wonderful stay here. It was cozy, clean, cute, quiet, convenient, and perfect for bringing a dog with the fenced in yard and lots of places to walk your dog. I definitely recommend getting a golf cart because then it’s so easy to get to the beach (drive to private beach access across from main entrance across street and park right before you get to the sand). My only qualms with the place was that the host doesn’t provide you with a guidebook of info/recommendations like we normally have been provided with other stays. So we had to contact her to ask where the private beach access is, and a few other questions. That being said, she did call us and give us this info quickly and was super nice and helpful when we communicated. Also, there’s a hose next to the house (which we had to figure out). And I will note there was a lot of construction in the neighborhood on the weekday (currently next door) - not a bother if you’re spending the day at the beach like we were but we couldn’t have enjoyed the balcony or screen-in porch during the day. You can also hear traffic from the street when outside. And you can’t see the ocean from the balcony (I thought that was a bit misleading). And sadly, the coffee shop/donut shop was closed. But it’s very quiet inside, the view is still nice, bed was comfy, TVs are smart TVs (we didn’t know that from the listing so brought a firestick). Overall we loved our stay and our dog had the best time. We would definitely stay here again.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Dragonfly Cottage! The place was so clean inside and out! We especially loved all of the porch areas! My daughter loved the “swinging bed” upstairs so much that she slept outside most nights. The neighborhood is nice and quiet and safe! We rented a golf cart to help transport our beach items and everyone to the beach. It was a short .5 mile walk, but the kids definitely enjoyed the of the golf cart. Jamie was a wonderful hostess, always prompt responding to all my questions. We loved our time here and hope to return in the near future!

The Dragonfly Cottage was beautiful, easy and perfect for our stay! The cottage was thoroughly appointed with everything you need including enough towels and wash cloths, which was a huge bonus! The appliances are all updated and the decor is absolutely beautiful! Our host, Jaimie, was WONDERFUL and so responsive through the process! We will definitely be back!

The owner- Jamie allowed us to check in early since we were traveling 8 hours in a car with a baby. Jamie was really willing to do whatever she could to help us have the best experience. The home is absolutely stunning and was very clean. We really enjoyed the porch swing and dining table on the back porch- we ate our breakfast here every morning. Our baby boy was thankful for the beach toys that were provided, and we took advantage of the extra beach towels as well. The beds and furniture throughout the home were very comfortable and really made it feel like home! We absolutely loved the location and the private beach was always neat. We definitely recommend renting a golf cart to drive back and forth to the beach and house. It would be quite the walk if you were trying to haul a beach wagon, cooler, toys, tent, children, etc. We are already talking about when we can plan to come back! I really can’t say enough good things about this property and the owner. I promise, the house is just as magical as it’s name!

My family spent a week at Dragonfly for a little recovery after our oldest's wedding...it proved to be a spectacular place for just that. The property is beautiful, well appointed with everything that you would need, with wonderful bedrooms, living space, balconies, and a perfect location. We biked and fished in the State Park. Easily walked to the beach each day. And since the property is somewhat centrally located in OB near Gulf Shores, a myriad of restaurant options were easy to access. And yes, we walked to the ice cream and donut shop more than a couple of times during the week. Most importantly, Mrs. Jamie, the property manager, is amazingly responsive and caring.
Great house, and would absolutely book again with no concerns.

Unlike most where owner wants to do everything in the least expensive way to get by with. None of that here! Layout is perfect-decor, details extremely tasteful & well thought-out. Enclosed picket fence, being pet friendly & more than expected, adding extra comfort. Quaint landscaped yard w/tree canopy provides shade for privacy to swing on front porch. Meals (or cocktails/coffee) at outdoor table on screen porch. Porch upstairs-great way to watch early morning sunrise on bedswing! The kitchen cookware-dishes-platters-bowls etc are REAL! & very plentiful to prep/cook! Yes there are acrylics to take o/side but nice! Location is perfect for walks & bicycles. Easy access to state park (w/miles of paved trails pedestrian friendly) w/in the subdivision being rare. From tv’s w/satellite, charcoal/lighter already there for use to dishwasher/laundry detergent. Whether owner left or previous rentals. It was shared, made available & not thrown out. You don’t mind leaving yours behind for the next, Again not normal in rental world but greatly appreciated. Beds were extremely comfortable! Upscale linens, welcoming. luxury sheets & towels w/fresh smell. Beach/pool (few houses down) a wagon-cooler-basket of nice beach towels & toys to enjoy. A short walk to beach access w/a traffic light for crossing. Button to stop vehicles actually worked instantly each time to cross! Most of all thanks & compliments to the owner who was very quick in responding to any questions before & during our stay!

We have taken a lot of vacations and this was one of few where the home was nicer than the photos. Location was great as well. We come to the area 2-3 times a year and are glad we chose the Dragonfly. The only thing we wish we had known about was the construction going on right across from the home. Thank you for letting us stay!

What a treat to stay at the dragonfly for the week. Loved the house, the sleeping porch, the big beautiful pool, the private beach access. Very peaceful despite a bunch of houses being built in the neighborhood. Great proximity to Orange Beach. Loved the access to bike trails in the state park.

What a wonderful place to gather your family for Christmas. The rest of the family stayed in other places but we used this house as our gathering place for fellowship and some meals. The living kitchen area is large enough to accommodate 6-8 people comfortably. The kitchen has anything you would need for entertaining guests. Thanks for the memories.

My husband and I travel every Thanksgiving with our 2 small dogs and this is by far the best house we have rented! The cleanliness was as advertised along with the upgraded linens. The location/neighborhood and fenced in yard was a game changer! We can’t wait to go back!

We celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary with a stay at the Dragonfly Cottage, and it was absolutely perfect! The house is so beautiful and charming with an excellent floor plan and tasteful decor in a great location. We only used the kitchen for coffee and snacks, but found it stocked with everything that you would need for meal preparation. We stayed in the master bedroom which is stunning with quality linens and a comfly bed. The cottage has 3 different porches which are perfect for enjoying the beautiful weather. The entire yard is fenced which provided us with extra peace of mind that our little dog was safe when taking her in and out. The Tannin neighborhood was perfect for walking our dog, and actually has a little courtyard with grass a short distance from this house. Although the deeded beach access is across a 4 lane road, it was very easy to get to with a red light and cross walk. We didn't use the pool, but it looked beautiful and was very close to the house. There are several new homes being built in the neighborhood, but we did not find the construction to be an issue at all. Jamie, the host, was very helpful and responsive and a pleasure to work with. Will definitely consider this beautiful cottage again when planning a trip to Orange Beach!
