All the staff were lovely and polite great sized room and bathroom good parking everything we needed in our room breakfast was very tasty good selection having a fridge in the room was great as it meant we could put it too good use.
There was an event on our second night and we had booked in for dinner , there was a long wait for drinks and food due to the event and I feel more staff were needed as the front of house reception man had to jump in and help I understand events are held but definitely needed more staff as only two waitresses and a supervisor and only one bar so everyone was using this we waited over 20 minutes for two cocktails even though the staff were clearly run off there feet they did stay professional and did apologise. The room was lovely but I did notice the shower screen was quite marked and the plastic at the bottom was quite black and needed a good scrub. We also did not have a do not disturb sign for our our door when we arrived the ash tray outside our block was very full and over flowing and there was what looked like dog poo squished into the ground by the door to our block we were in room 108

Perfect location near enough the M40 but remove enough in the countryside to not hear the traffic and eat outside in the evening feeling you are away on holiday.. Spacious Courtyard Double Room , easy access and not too big hotel, with some character and history.
When I went down for breakfast, the restaurant waiting list showed I was not getting breakfast, so I asked the waitress to go and check the records with her boss at reception, which she did because I had paid extra for breakfast so should be allowed to have it; she apologised noting an error made earlier.this morning. So pleased do stand your ground and request they double -check their list in case it is not correct.
Dinner on site was lovely served outside in an enclosed cosy courtyard (as the inside restaurant was far too warm) but I had to wait over 25mins for my starter, portions were quite generous but dishes'prices quite ok the high side so be careful choosing dishes there.
