A beautiful hotel! The lobby and dining spaces- so wonderfully designed.
Location
Friendly staff.
Great cooked to order breakfast.
Spacious bedrooms
Clean and recently updated
Sea view room cheaper than other similar hotels.
Personally I was baffled by the choice of bulky dark grey /black accessories in the bedroom. (Very male and corporate)
They did not compliment the elegant wooden beds and dressing tables and gold lights. Perhaps worth a rethink to retain the original style.

The location is great. The staff were helpful & friendly. The rooms were clean & comfortable. Extra heater if needed. Family rooms very spacious. Superior Rooms also large.
The shower in bathroom was useless. Water came out slowly and the tray filled up & again emptied slowly. For a superior room it was not good.
Breakfast ok but could do with more variety or specials @ wkend

Full marks to restaurant staff for politeness and help.
No heating one evening and next morning despite cold weather, never experienced this in a B&B let alone a 4 star hotel.
No hot water either.
Some places would fall over themselves to apologise, not a word here, perhaps they hoped customers would not notice.
Sauna out of order most of our stay.
Once proud hotel in slow decay with lack of attention to detail.
Bedroom windows draughty, not good during a severe storm.
Restaurant draughty.
Low staffing, only one employee in restaurant some mornings (full marks to them for politeness and help).
No milk jugs half the mornings.
All but one large tea pot had handle missing from lid.
Breakfast bacon consistently all very well done, no variation.
Sausages either all well cooked or all barely cooked on alternate days.
Only one coffee machine working most of the week.
Bar table not cleaned and crisps on floor after last people (photo).
Menus dog eared, unlike every snack bar and restaurant we went to (photo).
Adequate menu (photo).
Paid for late checkout, cleaner tried to enter room at standard checkout time - could have been in bath.
Paid for late checkout, unable to enter room on return from town an hour before checkout.
Patterned room wallpaper runs out part way, suggesting not enough paper or sections replaced after a leak (photo).
Large gap under room door, is this normal for firedoors (photo) ?
Windows do not appear to have been repainted in many years (photo).
Physical decay includes missing gutters potentially causing penetrating damp (photo).
Gaps and moss in balcony tiling (photo).
Could do better.
