Staff were helpful and breakfast was very good.
The room was rated premium but it was dark and depressing. The lighting was very poor.

This is a good Ibis. Clean, central, with excellent parking onsite at a reasonable price. Great breakfast.
Just pick your walking routes into old town. Some streets were better/safer to walk down than others.

I would give this hotel a 10, mainly because of its excellent location. You step out of the hotel directly into the streets of central Bilbao, and all the main attractions are within walking distance. Another great advantage is the hotel's underground parking garage. Although there is an additional charge for parking, it is very convenient.
The room is comparable to other standard Ibis hotels – small, with basic furniture and a simple plastic bathroom. The air conditioning is quite powerful.
The breakfast also deserves an excellent rating. Despite the hotel being very large, it wasn't crowded at all. The selection was surprisingly good for an Ibis, with pancakes, juices, butter, jams, croissants and good bread. The coffee could be better, but it was great that you could take a cup with you.
I would definitely recommend staying here.

There was not much to like. Very basic hotel. Type of place that I won’t remember three months from now.
Not only was the check-in nonchalant and staff unmotivated but service mindset was just not there.
Air conditioning was dripping water on the floor in the middle of the night. Switching it of did not help. In the morning, when checking out, I mentioned this at the reception and received a thank you for reporting. No gesture of even trying to apologise or compensate. I asked the receptionist if „that was it?“ and he mentioned „there is nothing we can do at this stage anymore“. I don’t know what the company policy is, but normally offering a free drink or something complimentary is rather basic in hospitality branch, but obviously not in this hotel. Never stayed in ibis before but one time was enough. Service mindset is a skill, anyone can learn it.
