Good tasty food and brilliant hard working staff. Good value for money in comparison to other hotels in area.

Staff very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were newly refurbished, clean and the bed very comfortable. We had a lovely room with patio doors out into the gardens. Very dog friendly. The food was superb, we went on steak night Friday and had the most fabulous steaks at reasonable prices. All in all great value for money. We will be back.
I know that its still being refurbished, so things are still to be done. The fire door at the end of our corridor had a broken window and did creak at night. But that did not detract from our lovely stay.
8 / 10Excellent·Sep 2026
I had booked a superior room which was worth it. I was on the ground floor which as it turned out was very fortuitous. I wasn't hungry for an evening meal but breakfast was excellent. I ordered an omelette which was huge and hot - recommend. When I woke up in the morning there was a huge stag by my doors enjoying his breakfast too!
I left a wee note for the maintenance people as there were a couple of things which didn't work in the room. Otherwise I was happy with the comfort and amenities.

Location and the bar / restaurant / dining room were good. Evening meal and breakfast were good. Staff were helpful.
Whilst there was a sign saying that the hall, stairs and landing were yet to be renovated these areas let the hotel down. The TVs in the rooms didn’t function properly. Whilst I requested gluten free bread and oat milk in advance neither were available. The electronic door key was very temperamental
