Good but rooms are outdated

I have visited this hotel several times over the last 20 years and the location is excellent. The price is also pretty competitive especially for the Mandarin brand.

The property is starting to look tired and dated. The rooms/bathrooms have not changed in 20 years and given the scale of construction work in KL and all the new hotels…this needs attention. The staff at the pool restaurant were not particularly attentive…after waiting 15 minutes, I went and got my own menu. After another 10 minutes, I flagged down a waiter to take my order. After another 10 minutes, I noticed my drink sat on the bar…I waited a few minutes before going to get it myself. This is poor service. I would also like to note, that the quality and taste of the food was mediocre at best. The uniforms of the staff at the pool restaurant were grubby and the makeshift steps to the various seating areas were shabby.

A comedy of errors. The hotel blamed Booking.Com for the accommodation mixup and also the transport

The location is fantastic, restaurants always good.

I booked a pickup on Mandarin's website from the airport - the car did not turn up! Once we finally arrived there was a queue at Reception. When I was finally served there was a problem with the booking - I had booked twin beds and the receptionist had it down as king size. The problem was obviously too difficult for her to handle and I was asked to take a seat. That was after she argued that I would have to pay extra for twin beds - I had a confirmation saying "twin beds" so I argued that would not be the case. After 20 minutes nothing happened and I arose and returned to Reception advising that I was exhausted and needed the room. The receptionist fiddled around and at last we had our room. Leaving was also a problem due to CNY and the lion dance. We could not leave. Finally, I tripped on some poles that were there for acrobats and fell to the ground, The Concierge helped me up and offered water. I am 76 and have stayed previously and found the whole ordeal unsatisfactory.

Deluxe Hotel in a Great Location

- Great breakfast buffet, variety of Mediterranean,Continental and Asian items. - Kind and helpful staff. - Adjacent to Suria KLCC Mall.

- Classic wash basin mixer (dual handle mixer), which is not my favorite. - Lack of complimentary mineral bottled water, only filtered tap water provided in room. - No self-service coffee machine in the breakfast restaurant, only by order. - Little to no seating area in the lobby.

Лучшее месторасположение! Окна нашего номера выходили прямо в парк. И вечером мы могли из окна смотреть шоу танцующих фонтанов :) Очень клиентоориентированный персонал. Готовы быстро решить все задачи, знают гостей по имени и всегда радушны. Прекрасный ресторан Mandarin grill. Просто восторг!

Немного уставшие номера. Вентиляция была немного более шумной, чем ожидалось. Фен в ванной не включишь, нет для него розетки. Пора делать реновацию :)

Great, Nice & Comfy

The location and room is great...the bed is superb comfy and the toilet also very nice with the bathtub. The location is near with Suria KLCC is one of the reason stayed here. With the good lift facilities didn't need to waiting so long.

For the breakfast maybe no need to que waiting assists by the staff. Some people maybe rushing for their personal purpose. Maybe is suitable if the dinning is pack or peak season to avoid cramp inside.

Great hotel for our overnight stay

perfect location to explore the city very nice pool area to relax after a long flight 2 bedroom appartement was great for our family of 4

deposit took some time to refund (normally after check-out) but finally it worked without problems

Great place to stay in KL

Location was excellent! Walking distance to everything! Loved the infinity pool with city view. The staff were helpful and unbelievably kind. It was New Years and the breakfast was crazy crazy busy and somehow the staff, waiters, hosts, managers, chefs-EVERYONE who worked there, were so calm, kind, and helpful. Hotel arranged a take away breakfast and drive to our very early morning flight.

Everything you'd expect from a Mandarin Oriental Hotel - excellent customer service and facilities

Sadly, it was just a one-night (literally 24hr) stay for us. We had to fit in an 8hr tour of the city too and so had little time to really enjoy the amazing facilities: beautifully appointed rooms, lounges, infinity pool, spa and gym - but we did our best! Staff were wonderful. Left our luggage and freshened up in the spa before flying home. A perfect 24hr idyll at the end of a 3-week visit to Thailand. Conveniently located in KLCC next to Petronas Towers. Highly recommend. ❤

Literally nothing! Er, maybe the fact that the main lounge closed at midnight! Far too early for our liking... 😉

素晴らしい思い出に残る旅となりました

色々なホテルが乱立する中、ツインタワーを部屋から見られる事にこだわってこちらのホテルに決めました。ツインタワービューだと少し料金も上がりますが、クアラルンプールは世界で1番高級ホテルに安くで泊まれるとの事。部屋からの眺めはまるでガイドブックに載っているかのような非の打ち所がないものでした、こちらのホテルにして良かったです

特に有りません。土地柄なのかバスタブが無い部屋も多いようですが、こちらは有りましたのでその点も良かったです

Always my go to KL hotel

The check-in was super easy. I came quite early and asked to keep my luggage in the store room for a while but I could check in just that I did not get my room key then. The personnel kept my items of luggage in the store room and also helped to bring to my room when it was ready. I just have to take my room key afterward.

The check out could have been faster. Maybe can help to introduce a fast check out for those who do not have any pending payments. Waited nearly 20 mins to just drop my keys to the checkout personnel.

Pleasant stay with mediocre food.

The staff was friendly, super helpful and attentive to request. Great view ! Superb location !

The mandarin breakfast set was a bit disappointing, wasn't worth the price paid. I had better experience/quality of food ordering from grabfood/foodpanda. The interior design of the room could benefit from a makeover, current design feels pale, outdated, uninviting. Mandarin Oriental should uphold the brand and name better.

Could have been better

We had a nice room with twin towers view, queen size comfy bed, super clean property, staff members were kind and attentive.

Really poor noise isolation, could hear all the noises coming from the neighbours rooms, which made sleeping very difficult until late night, the long lines for checking in and out, and the expensive breakfast buffet for the Malaysian standards, almost 20€ pp.

Must renovate room and rejuvenate to modern needs. Being 5 star hotel, the bed must be the best

Location

Rooms setup not up to date trend e.g power point is not next to bedside and very scare . Essential for ohone charging. Bed is too old and sunking in causes back pain. Room is so dark with scare of lights and bad locations of light. Depends on lamp stand only.

Super location

Building outdated even if the rooms are very nice. But common areas should be modernised. Lack of communication among staff members created some misunderstandings. Poor breakfast

A home away from home with excellent services!

The staff at Club Lounge are friendly and helpful. The 3 rooms we booked are very clean and comfortable especially the suite overlooking the magnificent twin towers.

I don’t have enough time to enjoy all the facilities offer.

Luxurious stay

The service provider by the staff was top class. The hotel looked very luxurious. We had an excellent stay, extreme value for money.

The room looked a bit dated, although it was very clean and comfortable.
