This was the first time we stayed at Cavallo Lodge and it was amazing . Staff very helpful, and informed us on all the amenities available . The room ( the commanders suite) was amazing with breath taking views of SF bay. The suite was very comfortable, clean and very spacious. They offered turn down service , which is an added comfort. The only neg was the parking, our suite had its own parking space but someone else parked there which made us park a distance from . They offer free rental electric bikes which we thoroughly enjoyed. They have a spa which I wasn’t able to enjoy due to time So many amenities. We definitely will stay here again! It was a beautiful place to celebrate our anniversary. Cavalla lodge was the original Fort Baker base and it was redone tastefully but still has the historic charm. The restaurants at the lodge were very good and reasonably priced. We so enjoyed our stay , we’ll book for longer stay next year!!

Sometimes life gets so overwhelming. I am so grateful and blessed that I have Cavallo point to go to as a reset. It is truly one of my favorite places in the Bay Area to treat, refresh, and relax. The proximity to the Golden Gate Bridge, and downtown Sausalito are just a couple of the perks. The smell of the eucalyptus that surrounds the property makes you automatically Melt your tension away.
Whenever I come here, I like the contemporary rooms better. I have stayed in the historic and they were a little loud and not as light filled as I like. I love waking up in the morning and walking to the lobby to get coffee and pastries, and come back to the room and to relax before going on hike in the surrounding beautiful areas.
The healing arts Center is truly healing. I had the best deep tissue massage this weekend and it was a such a peaceful setting. This is one of my favorite places to stay ever!

It was our 12th anniversary, thought this would be something special. Arrived, asked for a room upgrade if possible. Was told already upgraded. Went to our room, and it was pathetic. At check in, asked if we needed reservations for dinner the following night. Oh yes, it is required, check for availability, only 4:45 available. Arrived for dinner thinking this is a resort, our reservation was in the bar, loud and table space was crowded.. not many people, not sure why the reservation at that time…needless to say this stay was very disappointing….

This place is about the extraordinary location. The historic room was nice, the bed was fantastic! For the high rate, we were surprised that there were very few outlets, no thermostat or instructions at all, so you must know how to turn on a gas stove and regulate radiators.

Charming view of Golden Gate Bridge. A beautiful room with all the amenities. Charming staff.

This is a beautiful property, and the buildings are old and charming. The staff is very friendly and attentive and the overall atmosphere is very pleasant and welcoming. Very strangely, however, there was no temperature control in my room and it was way too warm. They explained to me that there was a control knob on the radiator but the radiator wasn’t even on so I had no way of cooling the room except for opening the windows, which were screenless. The front desk offered to send over a fan, but for a $600 room I really think that I shouldn’t have to sleep with fans blowing on me when it’s only 50 degrees outside. Very strange.

This place is amazing. It has retained it's historic flavor but updated with a cool modern vibe. Great service, terrific food and close to Marin and SF. 5 stars for sure.

Cavallo Point is a gem hidden below the Golden Gate bridge. Our 3 night stay was truly fabulous: great room with a view of the bridge, fabulous food, superb service, sensational spa and top notch amenities including retro e-bikes and a Lexus convertible. We took advantage of all the amenities and still had time to relax, unwind and savor the tranquility of the setting. We will return.

Very nicely preserved historical property in a beautiful location. The view of the city and GGB was amazing. The staff were very friendly and considerate, service was great. Food and drinks were amazing at both restaurants on site.

Check-in was very easy. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. Offered us wine since we missed the cocktail hour due to our late arrival.

Cavallo Point is still one of our bay area's get away place. Only an hour from the south bay area. We went up to Muir Woods to enjoy the beautiful forest and then drove to Cavallo Point for a wonderful afternoon, dinner and quiet views. Absolutely beautiful!!

We spent our 20th wedding anniversary there and everything was perfect!!!

Stayed in the historic room king deluxe. Sitting area was small but bathroom large with natural light. Dinner was slow but good at the restaurant. Very unique property outside of city noise and crime. Very close to Sausalito and Rodeo beach only 10 min away.

I grew up in Mill Valley and never heard of this resort but it’s going to be my new go-to place for when I visit family.
The grounds are lovely and relaxing. I felt as if I was transported to some East Coast locale albeit with an outstanding and breathtaking view of the Golden Gate Bridge.
The accommodations are beautiful and immaculate, and there are lots of amenities. I visited with my teenage daughter and she loved it, too. We’ll be back!

Incredible hotel with so many wonderful property amenities: coffee/breakfast treats, wine hour everyday, electric bike rentals, fantastic beds by Bryte and so much more. The Hotel Staff is outstanding and super friendly!! A must and we will be back for an extended stay!

The setting is spectacular, the grounds lovely and the feel of the place warm and welcoming. Our room though left much to be desired. It had a pervasive smell of dog urine that remained throughout our stay. The bed only had an end table on one side making it inconvenient to place things one needed overnight. The service at the restaurant was almost non-existent. It feels as if Cavallo point is reaching toward what it aspires to as an hotel but hasn't got there yet. It is, though, set in a place of stunning beauty and for that alone worth the trip.

An amazing little getaway, the good, spa, the views, and weather was just what we needed. The staff took great care of us and a special thank you to Zee a who gave us an extra special anniversary surprise. We come again, thank you so much!

Beautiful property, we really felt
like we were immersed with the gorgeous, historic, and pristinely renovated environment. Will definitely stay again!

Everyone in the reception and valet parking were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to help. I really appreciated the kindness, service, inclusiveness, and laid-back California vibe with excellent service. I also felt this was a very family friendly establishment.

The view, the high end toiletries, the end complimentary snacks and water. That great big tub, fireplace and comfy bed.

Just fantastic

Amazing location - short drive to restaurants, hiking trails, and to SF - but also nice an quiet being tucked back into a valley, away from all the tourist traffic. We stayed mid week, so a drive to Muir Woods was only 20mins! On weekends your mileage may vary.

Excellent property and location

This property costs from $500 for the lowest priced room. They add $60 resort fees on top of this. The rooms are very basic, you have to get transportation to main areas of the resort. The spa services are expensive. Really not a great experience and not value for money.

There was a slightly odd smell in the building and room. However, the facility is stunning, located in a beautiful area and the day was spectacular. We ate at both Sula (supper) and Farley (breakfast). The service at Farley was slow. The food at Sula was mixed.
4.0
The property is very beautiful. When I was there the Bay Area was having high winds and rain. This impacted the property as power had gone off and IT was working to restore systems. This resulted in their shop being closed so you weren’t able to get sundries nor food unless you ate at the restaurant which had limited hours. Travelers should know this is a somewhat isolated area so plan accordingly in instances like this one.

There were no lights near our room and the building numbers are not on the side where you park. Suggest they turn on some lights on booked rooms and give more specific guidance on location of room (not just building location).

Traveled to the resort for a destination wedding.
The views are spectacular, the food delicious and the staff is 5 star.
Next time you are in the Bay area do yourself a favor and treat yourself to this amazing experience.

The contemporary rooms need a big upgrade to bathroom and carpets.
The check in desk could be friendlier. Also, they could have more gluten free snacks available.

Fantastic location, but pricey.
