Superb location and amazing food. Staff were excellent and went out of their way to ensure your stay was great.
Steep steps to access entrance.

Absolutely loved the fixed price dinner menu in the Castle restaurant. Changed every day, superb fine dining quality 4 course with good range of choices and excellent value at £30 each.
Garden room was spacious clean and comfy
WiFi quality in our own room pretty non existent, and only so so in communal areas

Location. Proximity to the port; to the village of St Mary’s, to the airport.
The taxi service from the port and to the airport.
Excellent value dinners @£30/head.
Free sparkling water at dinners.
Facility offered by boatman Raif to take guests on private trips to places other boats apparently don’t go. Especially on our 1st day when we didn’t know what was what etc.
Our room was satisfactory and we appreciated the upgrade to a Garden Room with a view of the sea/port. Inclusive breakfast in Garden Conservatory could have been nice but service was slow.
Our room was quite comfortable but pillows horrible foam, synthetic duvet and hard mattress.
Bathroom tiny. Far too small. No shelves to put wash bags on. Shower screen too wide - should have a small fixed panel and narrower moving panel.
Sitting room unnecessarily wide so bathroom compromised.
The room was Definitely not worth £400/
night that we paid
Breakfast in the conservatory was ok but one day they ran out of marmalade & fruit compote and tomatoes !!! and there was no bread!
Toast was soggy when we got it; portions small, bacon dried out. Avocado on toast was horrid: slimy unseasoned avocado, tiny portion, soggy toast. Waitressing was v slow and a bit sulky at times. One waitress made huge racket clearing a table; dropped toast rack onto table, fumbled with crockery. No attempt to minimise disruption to other guests. Such heavy chairs so tightly packed, we struggled to get in/out our seats without disturbing neighbouring guests.
Service in main restaurant also painfully slow. Food good though.
