NEIGHBOURHOOD DESCRIPTION In the 1960s, beachside Kitsilano was Vancouver's hippy hangout, drawing comparisons to San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury. Today, Kitsilano still has plenty of culture, but its apartments and houses are now occupied by young urban professionals and families who enjoy a modern version of that relaxed atmosphere – this is the birthplace of global yoga brand, lululemon athletica. Just over the Burrard Bridge from the downtown peninsula, the neighbourhood brings together a collection of attractions, beach and parks, residential streets, and a couple of main commercial districts. “Kits,” as it’s known locally, is bordered by the waterfront to the north and West 16th Ave to the south; Burrard Street to the east and Alma Street to the west. Most of the commercial activity is along West 4th Avenue and West Broadway, but you’ll also find shops and restaurants in the areas close to the beach. Eating and drinking: True to its hippy roots, Kitsilano is home to one of the city’s oldest vegetarian restaurants, The Naam. Open 24-hours a day, the restaurant’s yam fries with miso gravy have inspired many a late-night stop after a night out on the town. You’ll also find plenty of other healthy, organic and farm-to-table options. Down by the water, along the foot of Yew Street and along Cornwall, are lots of casual, neighbourhood bars and restaurants, many of which do a great job with seafood, along with wines and cocktails to match. West Broadway is where a lot of Vancouver’s Greek immigrants originally settled, and you won’t go wrong choosing something inspired by the Mediterranean in that part of the neighbourhood. Along West 4th, expect more polished dining, but still with lots of multicultural flavour. Shopping and Souvenirs: Lifestyle shopping is where Kitsilano excels. Visit lululemon’s store on West 4th (right opposite the original upstairs location) to browse the company’s range of high-end yoga and active-wear. Along the same stretch, you’ll find a number of outdoor apparel companies, fashion boutiques, cafes, beauty and skincare stores, and spas. If you’re looking for gourmet items to take home, you’ll find a great selection of wine as well as specialty grocers – you can even take home a bottle of The Naam’s famous miso gravy. West Broadway is a little more locally-focused, but the strip still offers lots of independent boutiques and gift shops that make for a great afternoon of perusing. HOUSE RULES -***Please DO NOT remove garbage or recycling from the unit. Doing so may result in fines. What a beautiful space! 10/10 would book here again!

Beautiful apartment in a great neighborhood. A lot of attention to detail, truly comfortable & welcoming. Very quiet but not far from restaurants & other attractions.

Cozy but plenty of room for four people. Well equipped kitchen with plenty of cleaning supplies provided. Lots of extra towels and face clothes. Host provided ample hair products and other amenities.

The property was as it looked although there was some construction going on outside that wasnt appealing. Hot tub was hidden and a little pricey for the stay.

My daughter enjoyed the penthouse location, decor and peaceful setting. Great to have off street parking for our adventures around Vancouver.

Stayed for just 1 night on a work trip, was a convenient 9min walk from my office on S. Granville. Fireplace on balcony was out of propane but host was very responsive and even offered to head over to replace it at 9:30pm (I declined). Place is spacious and funky, carpets and lighting could use updating to freshen/brighten the feel of the place a bit, and there was no body wash or bar of soap in shower, but overall I wished I'd had more time to make better use of the suite and the sun room + back porch are sweet little spaces. Note that the hot tub is not on the penthouse level, but in a secret little garden alcove next to the house on the ground level. It's a bit inconvenient for going back and forth from the suite and since the porch faces 12th Ave, transit to the tub is not 100% private, but it's still a cute solution. I did not use it but could see how it might be fun to be soaking among the garden greenery while hearing the traffic and pedestrians go by.

It’s very quiet even though it’s on a busy street. There is a lot of great shopping and restaurants in walking distance.

The place is great. No A/C, but that’s common in Vancouver. The bedrooms are large, the beds are comfortable and there’s a small bonus room with a comfortable single pull out couch. The kitchen is nicely appointed, and the games and albums in the living room were a nice touch.
We were, however, disappointed with the owner.
While walking around after arriving, we noticed heat coming from the dryer. A load had just finished and was left behind. I didn’t mind folding the towels and sheets, but noticed the washer was full of more dirty sheets and towels. I messaged the owner to ask if this was normal and he said I should just take the contents and leave them in a corner and he’d take care of them after we left. I was not going to touch soiled linens, so I washed, dried and folded them as well, and I made it clear that this was not how I envisioned my first day of vacation. He did not reply.
The next day (we stayed 4 nights), we noticed the drain in the shower/tub was clogged. Hair and dirt would rise as the tub filled with dirty water within seconds. I messaged for help and didn’t get a reply until our departure day. He said he took the weekend off. While empathetic, we felt we were left to deal with his mess. Literally.

A beautiful apartment. We loved the location. We walked a mile to the Kitsilano Beach and along the waterfront and stumbled across a street fair in route. The five of us enjoyed gathering in the kitchen, on the deck and in the living space to chat, have coffee, and eat breakfast. The apartment lacked air conditioning and although fans were on when we arrived the interior temperature was over 80 degrees. It took us a while to open up the windows and cool it down. There was no coffee for the coffee maker, so we needed to Uber to a market for supplies. The instructions were to put our garbage in a plastic bag when we left, but no bags were provided. We were in route from the airport before we received the check in instructions. It would have been nice to have the key code more in advance so we didn't have to worry about getting into the house. Our family did have a wonderful stay.

The property is old but very clean and comfortable and in a great location, walking distance to a lot of stores and coffee shops, very quiet neighborhood too, enjoyed our stay very much.

4 high school gal pals in town for our 50th high school reunion stayed in this delightful suite for 2 nights. It suited our needs perfectly with room to spread out. The kitchen was very well stocked with all the cooking tools and condiments we needed. Our only disappointment was that the hot tub area was overgrown so we weren’t comfortable using it and there were a few stains on the carpet. It didn’t deter from the fun we had taking in the shopping on 4th Ave and the beautiful beach at Kits. Would definitely book again.

At time of booking (March) I messaged the propertyanager directly with questions and got zero response back until about 2 hours before check in (may) which if you're travelling early in the morning and have luggage the check in time is late in the day and there is no place for you to atleast drop luggage. Communication was more frequent while staying I'd say however a complaint from neighbour because of drying our hair in the morning was outrageous. This property only sleeps 6 if one person is willing to sleep on the couch (not a pull out) and one in the back room on a little foam mattress in a toddler size couch and be ready to message property manager for the lock code to closet because there aren't any extra blankets or sheets readily available to use. Over all property was clean and did what we needed it for but communication before stay, the number of people it actually sleeps on the listing need to be updated as 6 is a stretch forsure.

Ideal location for us - (visiting our son).
This is a very spacious 2 bed - in a quiet residential area, while still within very easy access to all that Vancouver has to offer - either on foot or by car or public transport. Bus to city only metres away.
Very accurate listing- very well equipped kitchen, good size bedrooms with very comfortable beds.
Balcony with barbecue -
Hot tub - secluded well from street & passing neighbours.
Thanks for a wonderful & memorable stay.

The place is awesome!
I was looking for a house that feels homey and this is it y'all! Everything needed is in there, the location is also very private and quiet as I value my privacy extremely! They also have amp bluetooth speaker to mask the loneliness and when the silence became too loud incase you're staying alone~ There's also movies to watch and board games to kill time.
Totally recommend if you're also looking for aesthetics as this house is just purely beautiful and has a unique feeling. Another plus point for smelling good too. Kitchen appliances and tableware are complete! The bedrooms and washroom are also very cozy.
Bus going to downtown is a minute walk which is a great convenient,
The host is very helpful as well, shout out to Chris & The team! Responses from host are well received and help needed was given right away.

Great location with comfortable beds, a well equipped kitchen and lots of places to relax and read. Perfectly situated in the middle of everything in Vancouver if you are visiting someone at UBC but still want to go downtown or further for a hike. The dedicated parking is also a rarity and very helpful.

This VRBO is in a great location and has all the amenities you need. The kitchen is well-stocked with cooking supplies, and even some oil and spices. We appreciated the baby gate to block the stairs for our toddler, the board games and streaming services available. In addition, the host provided items like Kleenex, shampoo, hand cream, etc. which made the stay much more enjoyable!
One thing to note is that there are two bedrooms that can sleep 4, and then a small single pull-out bed to sleep another. Any additional folks would be sleeping on couches in the living room. Both rooms have ample space for a pack and play if you're travelling with an infant.
The hottub is on the street level and is in a cute hedged area. Couldn't get the fairy lights to plug in, but it would have been dreamy!
Definitely would recommend this place to friends or family.

My family (partner and 2.5 year old) stayed here for a weekend. The place is great - lots of natural light and great design. It's a 10-15 minute walk from the main streets of Kitsilano and the neighborhood was nice and quiet. We would stay here again.

The pictures don’t accurately reflect the spaciousness of this property. It is clean, bright, quiet, well-stocked, great location and plenty of room for the entire family.

We loved this rental, great location, responsive hosts. Would be nice to have somewhere to put garbage as we stayed for a week, but it worked out. Comfortable bedding and beautiful suite. Definitely will book again next time we are in Vancouver.

The property was clean and the photos of the interior were accurate. But the hot tub is definitely not private, it’s also small and hidden in some trees on street level. We were not at all inclined to use it. Several outlets inside the home weren’t working and as a result, no wifi or music. I received two messages from the property manager about check-in and looking for a review, but I didn’t receive a direct response to any of my messages.

My family really enjoyed our stay at this property. The owners we prompt in responding to our questions. The place was as advertised and the check in process was a breeze. It’s extremely cozy, comfortable beds, plenty of space to relax, and lots of natural lighting. We will definitely rebook this place in the future; especially when the weather is more conducive so we can take advantage of the balcony, bbq and gas fire pit.

I would definitely stay here again, it was a lovely experience.

This property was simply amazing. Not only is the taste in the decor, furnishings, and overall look of the spaces impeccable, but it was also very warm and inviting. I wanted to move in!!
The hot tub was a lovely private space in the garden that gave a very fun feel. Would recommend this place over and over again!
