Location was great with modern facilities
It was a little too compact with no room for luggage. We arrived late and had trouble getting in as we couldn't work out the code pad in the dark.

Enjoyed a 3 night stay in the Castle Suite. The Suite was well laid out, beautifully decorated and the amenities were wonderful. It was great to have a coffee machine, coffee pods, tea and milk, shortbread and Irn Bru provided in the Suite. The lounge providing coffee and pastries was also excellent and very welcome. The self check-in worked well and it was easy to contact helpful staff members through the virtual reception.
Overall I'd recommend a stay at the residences it's in a great location and a lovely historic building.
The text received ahead of arrival for access to the building wasn't correct and after several failed attempts to enter the building, decided to check the email also received and realised the two codes were different. The email code worked.
The buildings adjoining the residences are currently a building site and there was loud, vibrating drilling going on throughout the day of our arrival. While completely out of control of Righ, if you'd arrived with jetlag and were hopeful of a nap in the day , this might be a challenge! The work goes on between 8.00 am and 4.00 pm.
A fire alarm on the 1st morning meant we had to evacuate the building. Staff were on hand reasonably quickly but communication with guests could have been improved with regard to where was a safe space to stand while the alarm was checked. An all clear was given and guests returned to their rooms, with a confirmation that it had been a false alarm. This was all fine until about 5- 10 minutes later when guests were advised that correct procedures had not been followed and everyone was asked to leave the building again. At this point we were directed across the road, after a further 10 mins or so, we were advised that we could renter the building again. At no time did the staff offer an apology given it appeared they had failed to follow correct safety procedures, just better communication and some good humour, would have made this inconvenience a little less annoying
