We booked the Privilege package and the hospitality was exceptional! The room was spacious, Id like to say a special thank you to Luis who looked after the room impeccably. Our butler Lily was gracious, professional, friendly and extremely helpful!!! Thank you for am amazing holiday. One note is bring enough USD for tips. Lots to see, lots to eat and a huge variety of restaurants and great food!!!!!

The room was big and had everything we needed. The staff was welcoming and extra nice. There is so much to do - sport facilities, gym, pools, beach, bowling, theatre - sooo much, so you can't really get bored there.
Loved it was full of green all around, with wild animals like monkeys roaming near the main street.
The food was underwhelming - maybe I'm too European for this, people from Canada seem to enjoy it, but for me, the quality of the ingredients was below standard, and I was disappointed

The staff is nice and the drinks are well prepared in every bar outlet and the coffee at Mike's is fantastic (we found it to be the only place that had consistent standards).
Food - the only time that we had remotely good dinner experience was the Mayan dinner at the beach restaurant "Pez Vela", which was of course a separate charge, nevertheless a great experience and we don't regret paying for it. Their eggs benedict version at Blue Moon (adults only breakfast) is great.
The concierge Lisandro is a superstar. He was the only person we encountered at the resort that clearly understands guest's needs and expectations. This guy deserves a promotion.

The pictures on Booking.com are very misleading. The hotel is not what it looks like online. This is supposed to be a 5* hotel, which definitely isn't in any way, and if you've ever stayed in an actual 5* property, you will NOT think you are getting value for your money. Hotel is dated. Also, El Beso is supposed to be an adults only hotel, which technically it is, however it is a part of a much larger resort with a thousand rooms that accommodates a lot of children. We don't mind kids, but it's not fun having to fight for a spot with parents who horde the sun beds at the beach and who's kids are throwing sand at you from cocktail cups (yes, that happened to us). The only way to avoid this is staying at the hotel's one pool, which doesn't have enough sun beds. This ended up being a major issue throughout our stay, as there technically are four pools to choose from but there are not enough chairs to support the resort's massive guest fluctuation.
The staff is nice, but their English is not good at all, so we had problems in communication almost every day. Ex. wrong order brought to our table on too many occasions, especially breakfast at the Blue Moon. It's one thing to be nice and smile a lot, and another to actually provide excellent service or at least have some knowledge of the food offering you have in the restaurant you're working in.
Onto the major one - THE FOOD. We were surprised with how bad the quality was overall. Everything was either mediocre or just plain bad. We found that the buffet was the best option, even tough the quality there was not the best either. Breakfast service and wait time at Blue Moon is terrible.
Overall, not an experience we would repeat. If you're looking for a place that is a basic all-inclusive and has a beach but you don't care about the look of it or the overall quality, this is the place for you.
