A relaxing place to stay whilst visiting the Northern part of San Francisco.

Accommodations are simple, but clean, and provided all that I needed, with the exception of a restaurant. It reminded me of traveling in the 60's or 70's, letting me focus on being a tourist during the days and relaxing in the evening, instead of dealing with lots of unnecessary technology, The restaurant issue is taken care of by the large number and variety of places within a short walk from the hotel.

It would have been nice to have a refrigerator in the room so I could have cold drinks in the evening.

Staff extremely friendly and helpful made my stay fabulous and comfortable.

Room was clean, mostly comfortable and well kept.

Furnishing is a bit outdated though does have a retro look.

Clean, comfortable room in a great location with parking including at an excellent price.

The location is great, and it's necessary to have parking in that neighborhood, so the parking garage was critical. There was a crazy Santa-Con mobbed bar directly across the street from the hotel, and the crowd was boisterous and incredibly loud. But my room was totally quiet. What a blessing. Everything was clean and tidy in the room and bathroom. Bed was very comfortable.

I dislike not having a mini fridge in the room. I couldn't bring back the part of my lunch I couldn't finish, nor get some real cream for my coffee in the room. I also like to have cold water and fruit with me. But there are plenty of little markets nearby,

Close to great restaurants and the marina, amazing staffs!

The service was exceptional! I asked if we could check in earlier and that was accommodated. The receptionists were so informative, it was my first time in San Francisco. The room was very spacious, particularly the bathroom. The location is perfect to walk about and take the public buses, very close to the water and the amazing American diner Mel’s Drive in! Plenty of restaurants around. Definitely would stay there again!

If you fuss about noise, on the weekend there are couple of bars and dance clubs, so it can get noisy. But it didn’t negatively affect my stay!

Great stay at an affordable price - close to lots

This was the 4th time, I believe, we stayed at the Chelsea Motor Inn. The location is great, very close to restaurants and a nice walk to the bay and/or to Fisherman's Wharf if you care (this time we care, usually we do not). We choose this place because it has parking (we rent a car in SF) and usually get a parking spot (weekends are more problematic). Even the nearness of loud bars and crowds of youngsters at night, usually does not ruin our sleep. (Esp. if your room is on Lombard itself, on Fillmore has always been more of a problem. Ask for a room facing Lombard.) Rooms are adequate, perhaps lighting in the room could be better (as there are no separate bed lamps and if one wants to read the other must deal with a central light on - we were in room 201 or 301, I cannot recall, with double beds). The internet connection is good and more or less reliable. The bathroom was large, the beds comfortable. If we go back again to SF we'll try to get a room there again.

Great stay, exceeded expectations

Convenient location, very clean, comfortable bed and quite a spacious room. Good value for money.

Decor getting a bit tired, but we weren’t there to admire the interior design!

Great location. Clean rooms. Would stay again.

Very good location. We felt very safe in this area and walked everywhere we went including Fisherman’s wharf, Pier 39 and 33 and to Safeway for groceries (10 minute walk) as we had a fridge in the room. A touch noisy at night on weekends but if wanting to stay on Lombard, it will be noisy anywhere. If you’re sensitive to noise I’d suggest asking for a room that does not face Lombard. Staff were very friendly and helpful and indicated on a map the areas to avoid. The rooms themselves were larger than expected and very comfortable.

We were on the third floor (highest level) and the water pressure sucked. It might be just fine on floors 1 and 2 but it was less than desirable on 3. There was plenty of hot water though, so that made up for the lack of pressure… a bit.

Bardzo dobry hotel z wyśmienita lokalizacja

Bardzo przyjemny, miejski hotel, z bezpłatnym parkingiem, możliwość zostawienia bagaży przed zameldowaniem, co w SF jest bardzo istotne, poniewaz bardzo okradają turystów. Nie mozna w samochodzie zostawic nic na wierzchu, bo od razu wybita szyba. Pokoje przyjemne, czyste, łazienki bardzo czyste i zadbane.

Jak chcesz sie wyspać, to poproś o pokoj od podwórka, bo od głównej ulicy jest przez cała noc bardzo glosno, a okna nie sa dźwiękoszczelne

Bien si vous êtes un fetard

Bien situé Chambre chaleureuse et très très propre Lit confortable. Le parking gratuit et sécurisé est un gros plus

Malgré son bon emplacement nous avons passé deux nuits horribles. Situé juste en face d’un bar nous n’avons pas pu dormir jusque 3h du matin. Si vous y allez en début de semaine ce sera parfait. Si vous y allez en fin de semaine et que vous voulez du repos. Passez votre chemin. Si vous êtes un fetard ça pourra vous convenir.

Helemaal top! Dicht bij restaurants, fietsverhuur etc etc.......

Locatie was top. Een wat ouderwetse inrichting, maar schoon met goede bedden. Parkeren erg krap en niet voor angsthazen.

Komt wat rommelig over door interieur, maar daar moet je even doorheen kijken.

Great place to stay

Room was clean, comfortable & quite spacious. The hotel is in a great location for east food options, plenty to choose from within a couple of blocks walk. The are was very safe & we were out till after dark & able to walk back without being afraid. There are bus stops right outside as well so it was easy to get to the city & back.

There was no refrigerator included in the room, we had to pay an extra $5USD per day to get one brought up.

A good cheap base

The hotel is dated and old. The beds were comfortable and there are armchairs in the room . The staff were great , friendly and helpful . A good cheap base.

Excellent value, great location and hospitable staff.

We always stay here. It is clean, comfortable, reasonable and in a great location.

Minor complaints: We heard some noise from the hallway ice machine. There is not a refrigerator.

Nice big rooms. Easy check in. Sound proofing was good as on main road but no issue with noise.

Large amount of hair in shower. On arrival there was 3 people in our room yet everything was aimed at 2 so 2 coffee pods, 2 glasses, 2 cups etc. we stayed 2 nights and requested the room to be serviced after the first evening but it wasn't. 2 more coffee pods were left and the air con was switched off so was unusable for the second night.

Pleasant stay, centrally located, good value.

Proximity to a lot of the points of interest that we had, free parking, friendly staff, pretty decent value.

Some of the room furnishings showed age. There was street racing going on on the street just outside our room (not the property’s fault at all).

Very clean, comfortable accommodations, nice covered, off street parking, centrally located to major attractions.

It was a very nice room, centrally located to everything we wanted to see in San Francisco.

The shower head was very low for taller people.

Old style hotel but clean & spacious rooms, location is great with bus stops right outside the hotel but easily walkable to Palace of Fine Arts & Fisherman's Wharf etc, also a safe location with free car parking and lots of restaurants nearby. Can't recommend highly enough
