As always Mermaid Cottages exceeded all expectations. The Crabby Pirate was cozy, quiet and within walking distance of the beach and Tybee's fine cuisine. Crabby Pirate has a well appointed kitchen for those who like to cook in. The yard and interior accommodated my wife and I ,our son, and his dog with no issues. CP is a great place to stay if you enjoy or would like to try the Tidal Creek Marsh views!

Came down a little earlier than the check in time they worked with us and got us in the house before 4. It was our first time every going to tybee island fir vacation we had an amazing time will definitely stay with yall again if we get to go back. Thank you for all the help before and after the trip.

I usually feel uncomfortable when traveling. But not with Mermaid Cottages. It is homey and bright, the beds were very comfortable and it was great to relax in between trips to the beach and Savannah. Both were very easy to get to and people were very friendly. I never felt the desire to go home. I will stay in the Mermaid Cottages again!

Home was fine. ac was not very stable, had to keep fans running in order to cool place during the day. Could not check in until after 4 pm. lady was still cleaning with doughnuts and drink. Spoiled hamburger meat juice made fridge stink, i found in bottom drawer and cleaned next day. undies under beds from previous guests. disappointed with cleaning overall. Unhappy to pay to have cleaned if it is not cleaned.

My two sisters and I loved the vintage charm of the cottage and the lovely view of the marsh. There was a lot of construction going on as neighbors up and down Lewis Avenue recover from the recent storm. All construction crews were very respectful and conscious of not hammering too early or too late. Two small suggestions for making future guests happy and comfortable: 1. There are some gaping holes in the fencing in the backyard that made it impossible to let our little dog run around freely. And 2: There were a couple of rainy days during our weeklong stay, and it would have been great to have a slightly bigger TV (with a functioning stand) and at least basic movie channels. Both are relatively inexpensive fixes that would have a big impact. Overall, the cottage didn't seem quite as immaculate and well-maintained as other Mermaid properties I've seen. But we still had a great week!

Having Stayed at several Mermaid cottages in the past, this one was not up to par with the others. The place is not dirty, but the paint is old, the TV stand drawer is broken. For $700+, we could have done better. Ads show dock...but there is no dock. Yard is barren, lacking grass..with pets it's a nightmare with the sand.

This was the second year we have stayed at Crabby Pirate. Over all nothing has changed. I have to say the location is great. I was informed the is considered a budget rental. I feel it is time the owner put a little money in to this property. Both bathroom sinks fill up and drain very slowly including the tub. Same as last year. The batteries in the bedroom remote were dead for the second year in a row. No spindle on the toilet paper holder in the bedroom bathroom. The mattress in the master bedroom is in need of replacement. Very uncomfortable. When you roll over you hear the springs moving and if to lay on the left side of the mattress it feels like you may roll off. The outside chairs are becoming chalky and leave a white powder on your cloths. The TV in the bedroom should be updated. a couple of TVs in the other bedrooms would be a nice touch.

Tybee was beautiful, the house was very clean and the marsh was beautiful behind the house. It wasn’t as close to the beach as we expected, especially when you have beach stuff and it’s 95 degrees and 60% humidity. We ended up renting bikes to get around so we didn’t have to pay for parking. The yard is fenced in, but the fence agains the Marsh is very low. Our small dogs could almost get over it so, big dogs definitely could. The picket fence in the front has a pretty big gaps between planks and part of the fence has a little wire fence that covers them, but part doesn’t. My yorkie could get through the fence so I had to keep her on the leash the entire time she was in the yard so she couldn’t escape. If you don’t care about being super close to the beach this is a great place.

The house met our needs in every way from supplies to linens to comfortable beds. The walk to the beach isn't bad at all especially if you take a portable wagon to help carry supplies. We are a family of seven and we would take a load of folks and supplies to the third street beach entrance so the beach set up process could begin and then return the car to the house to walk with the rest of the gang. Sometimes we just walked the full way for the exercise. The house is older but for the price, cleanliness, access to everything, and the comfortable beds, the entire package was worth it. It was good to get the exercise after eating all of the local foods!

This was our first experience staying in a marsh view cottage. I liked that the traffic was less and it was more quiet on this side of the island, and the sunset view is also a plus. The only downside is that I wished the outside sitting/chilling area was a little more inviting. There was a table, chairs and umbrella, but compared to other Mermaid Cottages this one needs a little more "cutification" and coziness. The cottage inside was great and had all the necessities. This trip was clouded by the very recent loss of our 16 year old chocolate lab, Timber. She was going to join us on this trip, but unfortunately she could not. When I walked into the cottage it was lovely to see the picture of a chocolate lab like dog looking out onto the ocean. It felt like she was there with us in spirit. We love how Mermaid cottages does a lovely job of offering cottages that are pet friendly. Timber loved the special treats.This time we rented bikes and will be making it a habit. The location of the Crabby Pirate is convenient and it was very easy to ride to the shops, beach, and restaurants. If you like to find unique items, be sure to checkout the artist market. We had a great sunset dinner at Coco's, explored a few historical sites in Savannah, took a sunset dolphin tour, and relaxed on the beach.

We have never been to Tybee Island and did not know much about the Island. There were 6 of us (4 adults & 2 children.). The place was good for us. We could have used more room but we didn't spend a lot of time there. It was very hot and humid so we didn't use the yard much at all. The biggest disappointment was too few restaurants and how hard or long it took to get in one. The beaches are great! A cute place and it had everything we needed. Mermaid cottages made it easy for us. Thank you
