The staff were all so friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable, clean and well laid out. And the location is perfect for walking to the train and the city center. We felt really welcome here despite being slightly scruffy travelers. The doorman was especially personable.
The breakfast was a bit expensive for the quality, but it was fine.

Best possible location, near enough to walk to the Center but far enough away for quiet, yet also a very close walk to the train station. The perfect location scenario.
If there is a more polite and helpful staff at a hotel I have never met them. The Grand sets the bar.
Contrary to many hotel restaurants, the in-house restaurant was very good. My only regret for our three night stay was not ordering the Beef Wellington for two. We saw it arrive at a neighboring table and were very jealous!
A lighter, easier option for breakfast. As written earlier, it's a great space and quality food, but a giant buffet is overkill for us. A more "coffee shop" experience that opens at 0700 would be appreciated.
