The property was cosy and comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent. Special mention to the lady who prepared my omelette perfectly three mornings in a row.
Unfortunately, the customer service and housekeeping were very disappointing.
I was travelling alone and noticed that I had been charged the tourism tax for two guests, so I contacted reception through Booking.com. When I later returned to my room, I found that one set of towels had been removed, two empty bottles I had kept to refill later had been taken, the wardrobe had been left open, and the room had only been partially tidied.
When I reported the missing towels, I was told that because I was travelling alone, I was only entitled to two sets. However, one of my two sets had been removed and they only replaced it with one set.
What was most disappointing was the receptionist’s attitude. Instead of simply resolving the issue, I was lectured about the number of guests entered during online check-in and told how I should leave towels on the floor for housekeeping. I was also made to feel responsible for the situation, despite having completed the online check-in as required.
While I was at reception, someone also entered my room to take photographs without informing me beforehand. Combined with the unexpected housekeeping visit and the wardrobe being left open, this made me very uncomfortable about the lack of privacy and professionalism.
I have travelled extensively and have never experienced customer service handled in quite this way. The receptionist’s attitude was particularly unprofessional and made a straightforward issue unnecessarily unpleasant.
