On a way to Croatia

It is a great hotel, with a perfect location if you travel by car across Austria. Close to a motorway from Eastern to South Europe. We were staying at a master suite apartment which was spacious with a beautiful view across the city and the Danube river. This room gives you access to 57th. floor restaurant for breakfast with a breathtaking 270-degree view across Vienna (all other guests dine at a ground-level restaurant).

As always with 5-star hotels expectations are high and you can have a good first-minute experience only once. And Melia Vienna fails on this. They direct you to a public car park which can accommodate cars up to 2,05 m. If you have a bigger one, as we did, the reception team would tell you they.... cannot help you, but you cannot leave your vehicle at the entrance since it might be towed. And then you are on your own (there bus car park nearby, but someone would mention this to you). The 57th-floor restaurant is open only till 10 pm. There is a 57th. floor lounge open to the general public (which is crowded and extremely loud (Friday evening). Then the morning coffee machine at the lobby with card payment will gladly take your money but refuse to give you coffee (twice). Finally, an invoice promised by the night shift receptionist to await you in the morning is non-existent. So you waste your time again to provide them with the same details you did in the previous evening....

Izbira hotela je odlična. Soba s pogledom na reko, izredno velikodušno osebje v hotelu in razgled iz 57. nadstropja je bil fantastičen.

Ne bi mogla ničesar izpostaviti, da ni bilo ok.

Die Aussicht

Die Kompetenz des Personals. Es wurde mir ein Blick auf die Donau zugesagt. Dann war auf einmal kein Zimmer mehr frei. Umbuchen um einen Tag verlegen war nicht möglich. Nur wenn mann dann die vollen stornokosten bezahlt 230€.

Service. I said my wife has birthday during checkin. As we go out from elevator on 14th floor we were surprised by the staff - they waited for us with the birthday 🎂. View in a sizing from the room. Bar on 57th floor is spectacular.

To że myśleliśmy że hotel miał bardzo dużo pięter na jakiego wyglądał i dlatego go wybraliśmy prosząc o pokój bardzo wysoko , a w recepcji okazało się że mają tylko 15 pięter ?!

Très bel hôtel, j’y reviendrais.

La chambre est très bien pensée, silencieuse et spacieuse. Très confortable, avec une jolie vue. Je voyage régulièrement pour le travail et j’ai vraiment apprécié cet hôtel, j’y reviendrais.

Tout était très bon.

Schöner Ausblick über Wien

Das Zimmer verfügte über einen großartigen Ausblick, tolles Interieur, besonders das Bad gefiel mir besonders (beheizte Wandfliesen, damit Handtücher flauschig warm sind). Das Level Upgrade für die Level Loung und das Frühstück im 57. Stock, war nice to have. Toller Blick über Wien im 57. Stock, Getränke / Snacks etc. waren in der Lounge inklusive. Die MitarbeiterInnen an der Rezeption waren sehr freundlich und bemüht, ebenso gab es ein paar MitarbeiterInnen im Service die sehr aufmerksam waren.

Schade, dass die Tiefgarage für Hotelgäste keine vergünstigten Konditionen anbietet, Kosten: 30EUR pro Tag. Das Frühstück im 57. Stock ist leider etwas weniger auswahlreich als das 'reguläre' Frühstück im 1. Stock. Generell dauerte es lang bis leere Tische nach dem verlassen der letzten Gäste gereinigt und wieder frisch gedeckt wurden oder es passierte gar nicht. Schade da die Auswahl an Tischen mit direkten Fensterplätzen für den besten Ausblick ohnehin begrenzt ist. Auch in der Lounge dauerte es ewig bis Tische abgeräumt und gereinigt wurden, auch bis Snacks nachgeliefert wurden verging einiges an Zeit. Vielleicht ist das Team auch unterbesetzt, gut möglich. Der Service war für mich nicht einem 5-Stern Hotel entsprechend. Als besonders unangenehm empfand ich die Situation mit einem Mitarbeiter, er schien die Funktion eines Restaurantleiters zu haben, der kein wirkliches Engagement zur Lösung eines 'Problems' zeigte. Kurz gefasst konnte er die Zimmernummer nicht auf seiner Liste für das Frühstück finden, nach der Rückfrage an mich ob das Frühstück überhaupt dazugebucht worden sei, versicherte ich, dass dem so sei und es bereits bezahlt wurde für die Dauer des Aufenthalts. Der Herr rief an der Rezeption an, es war angeblich niemand erreichbar und ich solle mich setzen - 'im schlimmsten Fall wird halt nachverrechnet'. Es vergingen 20 Minuten noch immer keine Rückmeldung. Die Rezeption war wohlgemerkt eine Treppe, ein Stockwerk, somit 1 Minute entfernt. Schlussendlich ging ich selber hinunter um für Aufklärung zu sorgen. Auch das entspricht nicht 5-Stern Standard.

In summary, my stay was deeply disappointing with very few redeeming qualities.

Nothing. I sincerely tried to find something I liked about this place, but I couldn't. The only decent thing was the bed and bedding, which were not too bad.

Here's the deal with this €300 room: - You won't find any still water in the room, just overpriced stuff in the fridge. - The phone? Only works to call reception, and they take forever to answer, like two whole minutes. - So, you have to trek down from the 12th floor because the reception desk is a ghost town, not because they're busy or anything. - Your luggage will take an eternity, at least an hour, to reach your room. - And if the reception promises to bring your luggage, take your room service order, or call you back in a few minutes, expect to wait at least half an hour. This place redefines "service" in the worst way possible.

Angenehm aber Personal überfordert und Ausstattung entspricht nicht dem 5 Stern Standard

Die Lage und die Aussicht waren toll!

Hatten ein Level Zimmer. Überforderung des Personals im Frühstücksraum. Keine adäquat geschulten Kellner. Geschirr wird am Tisch gelassen bis man darauf aufmerksam macht. Bei einem Essen für 2 Personen um €250 erwartet man sich was anderes. Kein Pool (für die Preisklasse eigentlich auch obligatorisch). Leider gibt es auch die Kooperation mit John Harris nicht mehr. Ausstattung des Zimmers könnte eine automatische Rollläden vertragen. Jeden Tag alles separat aufmachen war mühsam. Ich weiß das ist jammern auf hohem Niveau aber bei dem Preis erwartet man sich mehr!

Готель сучасний, якісний ремонт, чудовий сніданок на 57 поверсі хмарочосу, краєвиди просто неймовірні.

Сподобався сучасний, якісний ремонт, наповнення номеру, ввічливий, позитивний персонал, сніданок на 57 поверсі.

Все добре, лиш спершу складно було знайти рецепцію, хотілося б більше вказівників при вʼїзді і з паркінгу.

Decent amenities if overpriced for the view, service, and quality of suite I received.

The washroom was the star, great pressure and well appointed. The bed was large and comfortable.

They hadn’t registered my Booking dot com reservation and I had to wait over an hour in the lobby for my room. I also found the carpeting in the suite rather outdated, very different from the photo. They also double charged my card as both Booking dot com and the hotel charged me and we’re still sorting it out.

Except for location necessity, I would never stay there again. Price indicates much better quality, services, and ease o

location great; Level was expensive, but breakfast was good and happy hour treats were also good with delightful view. The staff managing happy hour was the best, especially James. Overall, it feels the hotel is understaffed in all areas from reception to cleaning. The cleaning staff was very hit and miss. Getting any room service was near to impossible, this was completely due to understaffing. The staff was always polite and friendly and clearly doing their best - hotel management should help them out more!

Didn’t find hotel design very user friendly - beautiful and iconic for the owners - but many details in the rooms, shower faucets and rain shower usually rained cold water after a warm shower and trying to turn off faucet for one example; the elevator usage very confusing and challenging, especially trying to go to 57th floor…
