Very comfortable room in a charming old inn with loads of character. Lovely breakfast room & bar. Enjoyed my first English Sunday Roast - the lamb was tasty and melted in the mouth. Free street parking only, but never had a problem getting a spot.
Nothing to mention.

Cosy and independently run we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Comfy bed. Lots of hot water. Delicious dinner

Loved the location and the history
Quite a lot of spiders and cobwebs by the beams

Bedroom was extremely comfortable and well appointed. Bar area and staff very welcoming and friendly
The food in the restaurant was poor. We have stayed here on several previous occasions when it was much better. We were a party of two couples and none of us enjoyed our evening meal. Three of us had Sanjay’s Butter chicken curry and the meat was chicken thighs with too many bones. An unpleasant meal. The grilled pork chop was almost impossible to cut. We were the only four people in the restaurant. Breakfast was also a disappointment compared to earlier visits with a poor choice of cereals, fresh fruits and yoghurts and significantly smaller ‘full English breakfasts’.
