This lovely lake home is located in the Mountain View Shores Community near the dam. The generous bedrooms are beautifully decorated, with the primary bedroom and a guest room located on the main level. The fully equipped kitchen adjoins a sitting area with a sofa bed and opens into the dining/great room area. With its exposed ceiling beams, the great room offers comfortable furnishings for gathering together. The upper deck is accessed from the great room and is partially covered. Enter the screened porch from the kitchen, which has a dining table and chairs, plus a gas grill. Hours of fun await in the game room/living area on the lower level, with a pool table and a TV. There are two additional bedrooms and an extra sleeping area with bunk beds on the lower level. Top off perfect vacation days in the hot tub, located outside on the lower level deck. THINGS TO KNOW Max occupancy is six people over the age of two years old (county and state law). This property is managed by Vacasa Virginia LLC. Dock Details: Limit 2 boats can be docked during stay. Electrical outlets. Boat lifts not for guest use. If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the nightly pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting "Yes" to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The nightly fee ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 3 vehicles. Dock details: Limit 2 boats can be docked during stay. Electrical outlets BOAT LIFTS NOT FOR GUEST USE. Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit. More information can be downloaded from the "Rental Agreement" on the checkout page. Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation. We had a most excellent stay at the Main House. The property was clean and very spacious. Listing was priced well for NYE weekend, and had most of what we needed to cook - coffee maker, microwave, fridge space, basic spices (garlic, salt, pepper, thyme, rosemary, onion powder, paprika). The enormous pile of firewood was nice to keep fires going all weekend long. Would recommend the owner/property manager have extra towels (bath and kitchen) on hand. Also, would have been nice to have trash bags and dish soap at the house. There is a convenience store ~10 minutes away with basic food items, etc. We would love to stay here again!

House and location is lovely. We did not have any problems and were able to use all listed appliances, the hot tub, and the fireplace. The view is stunning and can be enjoyed from inside or either outdoor deck, but the hill down to the lake may be a little steep for people with mobility concerns or small children. We would definitely return to this home!

Checkin to the house was easy. The house was exactly as listed. The views were amazing, the house was clean and plenty of wood for the fireplace. The house was perfect for our family to all stay together. Highly recommend.

House is very spacious and has gorgeous views!!! Pictures of the house are exactly as advertised. Yes, furniture and decor is outdated, but didn’t bother us. We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful lake front property and private dock and launch. We paddleboarded every day, swam around the lake, and sat and enjoyed the view! We built fires and hung in the hammock daily and it was one of the best vacations we have had! The balcony in the back of the house is wonderful! Just doesn’t have lights on it which was weird! The hot tub was a highlight to enjoy for sure! Although, after 2 days the water got cloudy and looked like there was something wrong with the filter. After reaching out to vacasa, no help was really provided to fix it. We weren’t there for very long so it didn’t bother us much, but it was frustrating that there was not an actual person who responded to help fix the problem. The tv/video system in the basement was frustrating to work with. None of the remotes had batteries in them and there were none in the house, so the system could only be used with the Apple TV or Nintendo switch we brought with us. That was bothersome. Vacasa said they would send someone out to fix it, but no one came. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and the fully stocked kitchen was a nice convenience!! We made all our meals there and never had to go out - which is good because there is nothing super close by!! Just the way we like it! I give it 4/5 stars for those few problems.

Layout is interesting. Everything was super clean and had everything we needed. Wish the owner had not picked our week to have Home Depot deliver stuff and bug us a dozen times about it. Worth a look tho.

The house was clean but the towels racks were falling off the wall and the faucet in the kitchen was just hanging there. The pouch was so dirty we had to clear to off! The pouch furniture was so dirty we had to lay down towels to sit on and the table chairs on the pouch were to dirty to use very bad furniture needs replaced. The driveway the wall ways were cover in dirt, mud and all kinds of debris. The outside windows were just as bad!! The porch had a railing around that just terrible and look very unsafe!!

Lovely large house with a view of Smith Mountain. It sits on a hillside overlooking a cove and the lake. It is a quiet location close to a marina. There are 2 porches to relax and enjoy these views. Our family are foodies and we enjoyed the large open kitchen that was stocked. The house is as described. Lastly it also had enough space to park our cars.

The home was spacious and allowed for our large family to gather when we wanted and separate when we wanted to as well! The view was incredible and the location was terrific! A winery visit, hiking in the state park and lots of water activity made for a fun, interesting vacation.

Loved the location on the lake. House is a bit outdated with some need for TLC and Vasaca did not respond to our request to fix hot tub, but overall, house was clean and our stay was enjoyable!

The house has a nice layout, and is in a great location. Overall the house was fine, but there appears to be major structural damage to the deck, as the deck boards are sagging severely in a couple of places. The deck is built over an old roof, so the joists can’t be seen. I suspect that either some joists are missing or broken

The house/location was amazing. Had a great time. Only need was for the amount of people the house accommodated their should be more toilet paper/dish soap/trash bags etc. for all the fees that are paid accompanied with how far the house is from a store that would have been very helpful.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay for our “guys” weekend. We used all four of the main bedrooms and discovered during the first night that there is no heating system in the basement (with 2 bedrooms). We learned upon calling the next day that the basement level is only heated by wood stove. We would like to have been prepared for this since no one in our group is accustomed to wood stove heating.

My family recently stayed at this lovely house overlooking Smith Mountain Lake. We had our in laws with us as well as two boys aged 12 and 14 as well as our dogs. This place had more than enough to keep us busy and comfortable! The view is so pretty and can be seen from every room on the main level - and as soon as you walk in the front door! Getting into the house was easy also, plenty of room in the driveway for our three cars. The kitchen was large and functional. Plenty of bedrooms and my boys got to choose where to sleep which they thought was fun. We used the fireplace in the living room two nights in a row as well as the fire pit by the lake - and it was a nice extra touch that wood was waiting for us in both places with extra under the deck. Location was easy to get to and I liked that it was in a neighborhood which made walking the dogs much easier and safer than some other places we have stayed in SM which were on gravel roads or right off a main road. Also, they had trash pick up at the house - the past two times we have stayed in SML we had to drive our trash to the dump, which on a holiday weekend is problematic as they are never open on departure day! So nice to not have to do this! Wifi worked well, the kids enjoyed the pool table (though the 8 ball was missing, FYI ) and the hot tub was a hit. Some lights ere out around the house so would encourage the property managers to check some light bulbs, especially outside, but nothing that impacted our stay. Generally, we were comfortable and had everything we needed. I recommend this place for several families or a group traveling together. The pier are was also lovely though the water was too cold for a swim! Come here and enjoy SML!

Stayed a entire week to enjoy the serenity and beauty of the Smith Mountain Lake, would have loved another week . This home was comfortable and had all the amenities. I would highly recommend this get away vacation home .
