It was great fun to stay in a castle. The location was perfect for our purposes, and the property itself is set on beautiful grounds. Breakfast was elegant, abundant, high quality, and delicious. We also had dinner at the hotel, which was very good. There was also a roof terrace in the main building which was easily accessible.
Our room, #103, was on the lower level of one of the round wall towers/turrets. It was an interesting and unusual experience to stay in a genuinely old part of the castle, but the room was a bit quirky. The narrow slit windows, combined with curtains, allowed for very little view, and we could hear noise from the room above us.
I left curious about what it would have been like to stay in one of the rooms in the main castle tower, which I imagine would have more of an elegant castle feel, versus the quirky historic feel of the turret. I also wasn't quite sure why we had been assigned a turret room, but unfortunately there were no other rooms available that night when I asked about moving. Being in the room for one night was interesting and we enjoyed it.

I cannot say that there was anything fundamentally wrong with the hotel. Rather, given the relatively high price of the accommodation, we had certain expectations that were not met.
During our stay, there were a number of small issues that negatively affected our overall impression.
If you are looking for something exceptional or truly special, I would recommend looking elsewhere. The castle building itself is beautiful and has its charm, but, in my opinion, that is where its main strengths end. The level of service is more comparable to a standard guesthouse than to a four-star hotel.
The property would benefit from more thorough maintenance and cleaning. Some areas, such as the restaurant roof and parts of the interior, are visibly neglected and do not create a good impression. In our bathroom, there was a gap in the shower door, causing water to leak onto the floor every time the shower was used. It was clear that this was not a new issue, which was disappointing.
The service was generally rather weak, with the exception of Elisa, who was consistently friendly, attentive, and efficient throughout our stay. She handled both reception duties and breakfast service professionally and always maintained a positive attitude. On the days when other staff members were on duty, the quality of service was noticeably lower.
For example, I was surprised by how long it took to receive a simple glass of water. Empty glasses often remained on the table while the staff appeared to overlook them. Breakfast was very basic and focused mainly on local cold products. Do not expect any hot dishes. During our three-night stay, nobody offered us eggs or any other hot breakfast option, not even for an additional charge.
Overall, this is not a bad place to stay, but considering the price, we expected a significantly higher standard of service and greater attention to detail.
We understood that, in a historic building, the rooms might not be fully soundproof. We did not expect perfect soundproofing in such an old building. However, you can hear almost every step from the room above and, to some extent, noises from neighboring rooms as well.
