Honestly, this might be the best place that my family and I have stayed in Sri Lanka. The location is excellent for climbing Sigiriya Lion’s Rock at sunrise (about an 8 minute tuk-tuk ride, which the lovely hotel staff arranged for us). The rooms are super comfortable, and the pool is nice to relax in. But what truly made our stay amazing was the staff at the hotel, especially John and Nidharasen. The hospitality we received was ten stars! The food at the hotel was superb as well. I will be thinking about John’s cooking (especially the pancakes we had for breakfast) for a long time. Thank you guys, we hope to come back soon!

Pool was gorgeous, staff were super helpful (Nidharsan was great) and accommodating and comfortable room. Only a short walk or Tuktuk ride to the town/village, so good location.

Wszystko. Cisza i spokój. Znakomita i niezwykle życzliwa obsługa starająca się pomagać w każdej sytuacji. Fajny basen - niestety z braku czasu nie zdążyliśmy skorzystać. Hotel położny trochę na uboczu ale tani dojazd do centrum tuk tukiem. Cicho i możliwość obserwacji dzikich zwierząt. Widzieliśmy agamy, mangusty i malutkie wiewiórki (paseczniki palmowe - gatunek endemiczny występujący tylko na terenie Indii i Sri Lanki). Oraz filmik z nocnych odwiedzin słonia przy hotelu. Jeśli lubi takie klimaty to naprawdę warto.
Dużą niedogodnością jest brak szafek lub półek na ubrania.

The rooms are brand new and super fresh while quite simple, the pool areas is nice, the breakfast was great with a generous amount of food and the staff was absolutely lovely. The wild life surrounding the hotel is amazing
I think it is a matter of setting the expectations right, I read several reviews prior booking and I think only one mentioned the fact that it is a quite simple stay and should be categorised as ”under construction”. So while some reviews mentioned it I would not categorise this as anything like luxury. It is a simple but clean hotel with friendly staff and while it holds great potential, it is not really ready which adds to the experience. So I wouldn’t dissuade of booking the wild elephant resort but you should make sure you have your expectations right. Side note, they only accept cash and drink menu is quite limited.
