We loved this place. Even though the Nine Arc Bridge is a major landmark in Ella and all of Sri Lanka there are not many accommodations that actually offer a good view to it. The Barn probably has the best. The wooden cabin is very new, had everything we needed and was spotless clean and well maintained.

The family owning the Barn is extremely kind and helpful, communication was very good, breakfast was excellent. They will also arrange reasonably priced (or even free) transportation for you whenever needed, but we had our own.

We were so happy that this place was available to us and can fully recommend it.

Perfekt. Für uns die Nummer Eins in unserem Urlaub. Die Familie ist sehr freundlich und immer für dich da. Du bist allein in dem kleinen Holzhaus. Frühstück wird auf die eigene Terrasse gebracht und auf Wunsch, wird auch gern Abends für dich gekocht. Es schmeckt sehr lecker. Zur Brücke führt ein kleiner Weg, von dort kannst du am Berg entlang, durch den Wald nach Ella laufen. Oder du sagst Bescheid und wirst mit dem Tuktuk nach Ella gebracht und wieder abgeholt. Du kannst auch gerne eine kleine Tour von der Familie organisieren lassen. Sonnenaufgang auf dem Little Adams Peak, Schwimmen im Wasserfall und der Tempel waren unsere Favoriten.

La cabaña es una auténtica pasada con unas vistas privilegiadas al puente.Llegamos por la noche sin poder verlo pero a la mañana al despertar nos quedamos boquiabiertos con el lugar

Por comentar algo,el wifi iba un poco mal pero fue momentáneo ya que no era cuestión de señal si no se tocar un par de cosas.

The view of the 9 arch bridge is the highlight of the stay.
The cleanliness in the room is subpar. Access to the room has to be via a tuk-tuk as your car cannot enter. The tuk-tuk service is provided by the owner. The hot water in the room is either too hot or cold.

The hotel Barn Hills was the best hotel we had during our 3 weeks trip in Sri Lanka!
Absolutely perfect, I would highly recommend this place.
The hotel is located with the perfect view on the Nine Arch Bridge and especially the really nice net allows to enjoy the view on the bridge perfectly.
Not only the net but also the balcony is very nice and the view is absolutely stunning. You can walk to the bridge in only some minutes.
The hotel is perfectly clean and very well furnished, we loved it and felt home immediately. The bed is very comfortable and the shower is hot.
Most importantly, the owners (a lovely Sri Lankan couple) made our stay perfect. These two are amazing and very lovely. They were really caring about us, helping us with any problems, always available for our questions and highly motivated. We felt very welcome and they made our stay perfect.
To summarise, I can highly recommend this place without any restrictions.

Very nice property with an amazing view of Nine Arch Bridge. Sit on the balcony or lay in the hammock and watch people attempt the best instagram photos with the bridge. There’s a shortcut from the cabin to the bridge that’s about a 10 minute walk. Owner was very cordial and will provide tuk tuk transport to the city center for a low price.
Water wasn’t the hottest but certainly did the job after a long day of exploring.

The location is amazing,fantastic view of the bridge,worth all the money! The hosts were superb and very welcoming. You can walk to 9 arches bridge only take 10-15 mins. The bed was comfortable.We had a great stay!

The room is a cozy wood cabin with a balcony that offers an amazing view of the bridge and hills. The owners even put up a schedule which shows when trains should pass the bridge. The couple who own the place are two lovely people who take excellent care of their guests and are always helpful.

Nihal picked us at the Ella railway station and he provided us transport & guidance to visit all the places to see in Ella. He is a very helpful person and always willing to give his support in any case. The place is clean, calm and quiet and it is located very close to the nine arch's bridge and has a perfect view. Additionally the shower was fantastic.

OK, this is truly unbeatable location - truly the BEST! The owners are extremely helpful, friendly, charming and even with their limited knowledge of English, they always try to do their best. They picked us up at the train station when we arrived and picked us up from the city even late in the evening.
The location is also a bit further from the city, so you always need to use tuktuk to go for dinner, etc.

Nihal and his family welcomed us warmly and with a freshly made fruit juice. They attended to all our needs and Nihal drove us to Ella town centre every day. The room was comfortable, clean, with perfectly working wifi, a large balcony and a fantastic view upon Nine Arch Bridge. We also very much enjoyed the delicious and big breakfast we had every morning. We will definitely come back soon.

The hosts are a beautiful family as is the property. Its situated in a perfect position to allow uninterrupted views of the 9 arch bridge and surrounding area. Short walk to the bridge. Little Adams Peak and Ella not far away. Breakfast is exceptional. Room private, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We loved it so much we wanted to extend our trip unfortunately it was booked. We will be returning next year. Thank you.

We had a fantastic time at Barn Hills. The accommodation was lovely and very comfortable with the most amazing view of the Nine Arch Bridge. Our hosts were absolutely brilliant, very kind and accommodating and even took us into town by tuk-tuk. We also had a delicious breakfast and dinner there which we were able to eat looking over the gorgeous view. Very highly recommended!

Breathtakingly amazing place, in the middle of nature, a house completely according to our ideas. View of the bridge from the terrace, as well as the garden under the terrace. Amazing healthy breakfast. The host will take you by taxi tuk tuk to the nearby sunrise early in the morning. Thanks for Your kindness!

Awesome view - the best you can get of the bridge, the trains and the forest. A 5 min walk to the iconic 9 Arch Bridge. The hosts are an incredible couple - so warm and friendly and hospitable. They own a great juice bar so be prepared to taste the best juices in Sri Lanka! Clean room, good bed and a great home-made breakfast.

The location is just amazing, walking distance to the bridge and few minutes away from Ella city by tuktuk ! Very peaceful and the hosts are incredible. They did everything for us to feel comfortable and enjoy our stay.

Really friendly and helpful hosts. A nice, simple wooden cabin with a superb view of the nine-arched bridge. Situated in a quiet location where the sound of cicadas is music to ears during the night.
Pesky mosquitoes and the location is few kilometers away from the town proper. Nevertheless, they're not that much of a concern if you already knew beforehand the location you opted for.

We have nothing but incredible thing to say about Barn Hills! Out of everywhere we stayed on our two week trip it was our absolute favourite and the most memorable stay :)
The place is very clean and comfortable, and the view from the balcony is absolutely breathtaking — it directly overlooks the Nine Arch Bridge and it was a magical place to have a breakfast watching the trains pass by. The family that run the place are the kindest and most wonderful people you will ever meet! Nihal picked us up from the train station in his tuktuk, and helped us get around whilst we were in Ella. His wife Pradeepa made us a gorgeous breakfast each morning (the coconut/honey pancakes are soooo good!) and one evening she even cooked dinner for us which was delicious (we ate by flashlight when the power went out, but it was quite romantic!)
They are a truly beautiful family :) and we had the best stay! Thank you for looking after us so well!

First, the location is exactly what we wanted. You’ve perhaps the best view of the nine arch bridge from your front porch, and your own 5-minute trail to the tracks! Furthermore, you’re close to little Adams trail, and far enough from the center of Ella that you don’t have to listen to the constant honking you find on Sri Lankan roads.
Secondly, Nihal and his family make great traveling companions! They coordinated our schedule to optimize our driving time, and shared lesser known waterfalls! Nihal’s daughter and wife played with our 2-year old, and Nihal acted as a personal driver, so we didn’t have to PickMe drivers to the locations too far to walk.
Overall, a great stay off the beaten path!

Stunning view from the cottage! Just above the nine arch bridge with a few minutes hike down. Cottage is cozy and well maintained. Owner and his wife are so helpful, generous and sweet. He took us to a lovely waterfall where we could swim and on the day of departure they packed us a lovely take away breakfast for us to enjoy on the early morning train!
The cottage is located a little outside Ella town but the owner has a tuktuk and took us there when we needed a ride!
Can’t recommend enough!
