Beautiful city!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Amazing location, walking distance to many attractions, restaurants, shopping and the tram. Breakfast was also very good with lots of options.

Not great, price is high for low quality service.

Comfortable large room. Internet worked well and was a fast connection. Reception staff were friendly and eager to help. Good location.

This is a very very noisy hotel. Other guests shouting and banging doors having no respect for other guests. Very noisy cleaners early in the morning from 7am! Breakfast is supposed to start at 7.30am, yet hot food slowly trickles out for the next hour. Everyday we would be ready for breakfast at 7.30am as we would be out exploring the city, yet eggs and hot food would take literally until 8.15 and even 8.30 am before it was ready. This delayed our day every day and became so annoying and frustrating! The breakfast staff are not friendly at all, just stoned face and instead of fixing the cappuccino machine which was out of milk everyday, putting relaxing music on for guests and clearing tables preferred to sit behind the counter and eat breakfast themselves!

Boutique Hotel in the Heart of Historical Hub

Location is AMAZING! Çan was such a huge help and source of info. The manager also helped arrange my dental appointment at an excellent dentist and there was also an interpreter.

If it had a swimming pool that would have been next level but in the Historical City its mostly Boutique Hotels and space it at a premium.

Very good

The location was the best, just a couple of minutes from Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, and Hagia Sophia. Around 10 minutes walk to Grand Bazar and other attractions, including the tram. Around 5 minutes walk to the Marina. The staff was very helpful and friendly.. Don't expect a beautifully decorated room. However, the bed is super comfy. There are many shops and restaurants around the hotel.

The breakfast was very basic.

Great location with views of the Bosphorus

Lovely small traditional hotel right in the centre of the main tourist sites of Istanbul old town. Our room had a view over the Bosphorus where we could watch the dolphins, boats and cruise liners. The rooms are comfortable and have the European aged look which fits with the traditional style. Comfy bed, kettle/tea/coffee, mini fridge and clean. Breakfast was very good with hot buffet, cereals, salads, meats etc. Filled you for the day. All the main attractions are in walking distance. Can and Enes were very helpful in ordering taxis and giving information about the local area.

The most wonderful thing from rhe Hotel are the views from the restaurant. The room was big enough. Staff at the reception really nice

There walls of the Hotel are really thin and at night you can hear when somebody arrives in the Hotel, you can even hear people talking. The lift makes a noise unbearable and it is very unpleasant as we couldn't sleep (there were guests taking it all the time)

Anyway, I am totally satisfied

Hotel personell, especially manager Cas Enes were exceptionally attentive throughout my stay. Location is perfect for those who want to see the historical part of the sity.

Breakfast could be a little more varied, price could be a little lower :))

The location is central and the view is very nice.

The facilities of the hotel are old and need renovation. The heating wasn't working even after telling the staff was only slight better. The breakfast's quality/variety was 5/10.

We loved watching the sunrise over the sea from our bed!

Beautiful sea view, nice location, large comfortable jacuzzi, very kind and friendly staff

A lovely friendly hotel conveniently situated for restaurants, bazaars and tourist attractions.

The location of the hotel was spot on in that it was a very short walk to get to the main attractions and transportation. The staff were very friendly and helpful, when we first arrived we asked to be moved from the original room allocation and they were more than happy to accommodate our request.

The room facilities have seen better days and perhaps could do with a bit of refresh especially the bathroom facilities. Every time you took a shower you ended up with the water going onto the floor. Parts of the decor was falling apart. I would recommend people ask to be situated on the lower levels as ground and first floor you hear the doors banging when people are coming in/out, the staff preparing for the breakfast set up - so can be quite noisy.

Very good hotel in a great area.

The hotel is located in a busy, upscale area full of cafes and restaurants, but it is sufficiently nestled away to provide peace and relative quiet. My room had a sea view. I was upgraded for one night to the fancy room on the top floor. It was very nice with a gorgeous view. The staff are extremely helpful.

Unfortunately the noise from the kitchen/dining area makes ear plugs necessary in the morning. You have to request a top sheet for the bed otherwise there’s only a scratchy blanket.

Amazing and enjoyable stay at Sumengen Hotel. Staff are friendly and speak English quite well.

Location is good as it is near the Sultan Ahmet mosque tourist attractions. Breakfast is excellent. Food is so fresh and delicious. My room is clean and very convenient located at level 4 in the same floor as the entrance and reception. Walking distance to most restaurants located around the hotel.

Location

This is my first time staying in Istanbul and choose this hotel based on the reviews. I have listed my experience as follows which may help other travelers. Room It is a very old room nothing like pictures with hardly any view of water. It is not at all sound proof so you can hear people even walking outside. They purposely shut the Ac to save their electric bill do everytime you come back from outside it is really Hot as oven. The window ac is very week and does not operate at its capacity. Bathroom First two days I was complaining as bathroom floor was leaking with bad drainage smell which was all over my room. I requested multiple times but the staff insisted that they have fixed it and they did not. To add to the misery faucets have fungus all over. Terrible experience 😪. Breakfast First 2 days main items of Breakfast were finished at 9 am however they claim to have breakfast till 10 30 am. Location and entrance. If you are carrying luggage the entrance don't even have a ramp or even road to access hotel so you will be struggling in carrying your luggage inside. Incase you need taxi or uber forget about it no one wants to drop you at this hotel or pick you up as it is at dead end of a busy street. Trips and Tour They will cross sell you trips and excursions DONT accept any as they over priced it to charge commission. Even taxi will charge you 3 times more than the normal one if arranged by the hotel staff Overall I strongly recommend to find other hotels which are way better than thjs place. I actually ended my trip a day earlier to get out of this place and lost my one day of hotel charges which they never refunded due to non refundable policy.
