I would come back 100%!

The view is unbelievable. The terrace is the perfect spot to relax and read a book! It feels so clean and neat. Plus the host is really amazing and welcoming. The food especially the breakfast felt so good :) I really recommend this place, I had the best experience and as I’ve said the view was the best thing.

Its not in the centre of the city (which is also good because you get to have a view) but I think it’s still very feasible (I took a tuk tuk for like 10’)

Heerlijk verblijf op een rustige plek in de heuvels van Kandy

Het uitzicht vanaf het enorme en keurige terras was prachtig. De rust was heerlijk. Prachtige tuin met veel fruitbomen. Het ontbijt en diner waren vers en erg smakelijk. De kamer is brandschoon.

All around perfect stay in Kandy

The Tenthola is a perfect stay in Kandy! The hotel is very neat and tidy, the rooms are very good with very comfortable beds. In the morning you start the day with a beautiful view on the terrace with a traditional homemade breakfast. The owner is a very good man! He knows the best places to see and if you want, he can arrange you drivers and guides- which was perfect for us! We made a ton of great memories thanks to him and the staff.

Очень красивый вид с террасы, идеально чистые номера, вкусный завтрак, приятный владелец. Одним словом очень рекомендую, полный релакс с чудесным видом. Рекомендовали друзья, мы даже не пытались искать альтернативу. Чуть в вдалеке от центра, но на тук туке легко найти.

Charmantes Guesthouse im Grünen

Ein charmantes großes Haus mit wunderbarer Terrasse mit Blick in die grünen Berge. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und in super Zustand. Der Gastgeber ist sehr freundlich und hat uns bei allem geholfen. Frühstück lecker und abwechslungsreich.

Wenn man direkt in der Innenstadt wohnen möchte, ist es nicht das richtige. Etwa 10 Minuten per Tuktuk entfernt.

Wonderful place with a spectacular view

Tenthola Inn is one of the best places I stayed at in Sri Lanka. The view from the large balcony where guests mingle and relax is just spectacular. The rooms opening up to the balcony all have a spectacular view and are very comfortable. I enjoyed breakfasts and dinners at Tenthola prepared by the owners wife, who is an outstanding cook. Viper aka Edwin, the owner is super helpful and a treasure trove of stories and information as it relates to Kandy and Sri Lanka. I can highly recommend Tenthola.

With a host as welcoming as a homestay and a perfect location overlooking Kandy

Excellent host who went out of his way to look after us. He is knowledgeable about Sri Lanka and keen to share everything he knows about Kandy as well as the local flavors. His wife made us an excellent dinner too! And we had a large room ... all the rooms lead out onto the balcony with a great view. We felt very at home.

Just a note. Check the quote on Booking.com. Ours did not include VAT (15%) and a service charge, or breakfast. Also, note (not an issue, just be aware) that the room is not serviced daily.

Amazing pleace wirh beautiful view 10 min from Kandy center

Beautiful view over kandy and the mountains. This place is absolutely fantastic for spending a couple of days. Very clean, with a/c. We sat for hours on the balcony, drinking tea and reading books

Прекрасный вид, очень чисто, уютно, доброжелательные хозяева, идеальное место!

Безумно крутое место, советую остановиться в Канди именно здесь. Невероятный вид с балкона, очень чисто и уютно, приветливые хозяева. Очень вкусный завтрак, хозяин отеля приготовил его очень быстро, даже без предварительно заказа. У дома парковка и прекрасный сад!!

Najlepszy nocleg na Sri lance!

Świetna lokalizacja z przepięknym widokiem, dużym tarasem, idealne miejsce na wypady do centrum Kandy i okolic. Bezpiecznie, cicho, spokojnie, blisko natury a zarazem blisko miasta. Czystość jest na wysokim poziomie, śniadania przepyszne! Viper - właściciel zamawiał nam posiłki i polecał dobre i sprawdzone restauracje. Od pierwszych chwil spędzonych tutaj zaprzyjaźniliśmy się z nim. Opisał nam okolice, zaplanował wycieczki, opowiedział o historii Kandy i Sri lanki. Był jak nasz dobry znajomy i świetny przewodnik. Gorąco pozdrawiamy i mamy nadzieję, że uda nam się jeszcze tu wrócić!

Wszystko nam się podobało.

we had an amazing stay. only two nights but we wished to stay more. extremelly clean, amazing views and incredible terrace. The owner is very kind and makes you feel like home. The place has a very good breakfast that you can eat watching a breathtaking views. for us best stay un Sri Lanka by far. hope to be Back soon 10 over 10. oriol & karolina

Exceptional

We had a great time at the Tenthola. We felt very comfortable. The room and also the terrace - with a really great view - have been super clean. The host offered us a welcome - drink and the breakfast was great! The host also had many recommendations for what to do in and around Kandy. We can highly recommend this accomodation!

Amazing views and and very comfortable

I recommend this hotel 100% and i would definitely go back!! The room, the facilities and the view are stunning, all is brand new, very clean and very comfortable The owner is so sweet and caring, that makes your experience unforgettable I loved it!!!

Warmest Hospitality

The breakfast was exceptionally great. Instead of getting typical English toast breakkie, I was served with Sri Lanka traditional breakfast. Since I'm taking a long hour train to Nuwaraya Eliya, Sir Host ensured me with stomach filling food, which is really kind and considerate.

A beautiful place in the hills

Extremely nice and helpful host and staff. Suggestions for improvements were quickly realised.

The road to the house is not in good condition and the house is not close to the centre - but the view makes up for that.

perfect stay at Kandy with money-value and experienced, unique host

Viper (the Host) is absolutely amazing guy. I enjoyed dinner talks with him very much. learned a lot about Lanka history and geo-strategy. ok, now about the room - it is good! the hotel is more european-style with nice classic design and really fascinating terrace with the view. I recommend staying here.

it was a house in a residential area. the roads to which where quite narrow and dark at night. was expecting a hotel kin

quiet place with a nice view. they didn’t have any other bookings so had the place to ourselves which was a very nice experience

Home away from Home

We were greeted by Mr. Viper and he's such a great host. The property was clean and the view was breathtaking. It's a home away from home. Perfect location. Close proximity to the town and major supermarkets. Special Thank you to Uncle Viper for making us feel at home.

Leaving was difficult!

Our stop at The Tenthola proved to be wonderful. We stayed in a spacious room with a comfortable bed and a cozy bathroom. We drank tea and read on the veranda with a splendid view of the Knuckle Mountain range, which at times had a bit of a haze. We sat on the veranda and enjoyed our breakfast and dinners of delightful Sri Lankan cuisine, Our host, Mr. Viper, shared his knowledge of Sri Lankan history, answered any questions we had about architectural sites and about shopping. The Tenthola is ideal home away from home.

Exceptional

We were stunned by the view fron the terrace, although we saw pictures of it, it does not compare to the reality! It is also very clean, spotless! The owners, Mr. Gunaratne and his wife, together with their personnel, are perfect hosts! We felt like coming home every evening, we felt pampered, with the excellent local food Mrs. Gunaratne cooks (really really amazing!). Mr. Gunaratne, a former member of the national rugby team, is a person with large knowledge about the history, geography and religion of the island and he was a perfect adviser for us in discovering this amazing country. We really enjoyed every moment spent at Tenthola!

It was nothing I complain about, really, it's such an excellent choice!
