I had a great stay, I booked this last minute as I wanted a hotel with spa facilities, I think most hotel guests are having longer stays with treatment packages. The location was great, 10min walk to station and 5min to the busier part of the town with restaurants. My room was right at the front looking down on the river, stunning view. The hotel was old fashioned but in a faded vintage glamour sort of way which I really liked, it was spotlessly clean. It was very cozy, I bet it looks amazing at Christmas.
Breakfast was good, some hot vegetarian options plus continental, coffee was good. The spa was good, open 4-8 each day, not busy. The room had a heated towel rail so swimming costume can dry which was appreciated.
Very firm mattress, I don’t mind that but it’s not for everyone. No kettle or access to hot water to make tea. Only 2 members of staff spoke English, but it wasn’t a problem for me, I didn’t need anything

Great location with a balcony looking onto the canal. Buffet breakfast & dinners were all good. We enjoyed our spa treatments. Access to the Wellness facility was nice although the hot tub could have been hotter.
Jets in warm pool didn’t work & hot tub could have been hotter.

Russian language and Russian people with a style from the 80s, cuisine was also made for the people from the post Soviet Union, it was so strange feeling, like when you come to such a beautiful place and see so ugly people.
