Plenty of parking (£7 a night). Set in very nice grounds backing onto the racecourse. Leisure facilities (but we didn’t use). Food in restaurant good. Spacious room, comfortable bed. Good location for getting round York.
Seemed to be understaffed in the restaurant which also catered for the very busy bar. Staff were rushing around, even kitchen staff were out and around serving food. So they were not very attentive. Although food was good, breakfast selection were adequate but not fantastic. Easy atmosphere but didn’t have the luxury feel that the hotel was marketed for. Rather dated. Our room was opposite stairways so noisy as soundproofing wasn’t so good.

Good location and grounds.
Car park was full, so need bigger car park. Room 316 has kitchen generator by it that comes on early morning and its really noisy couldn’t sleep and was not made aware before room allocation.
