had a really fun, retro feel and was clean, comfortable and perfectly fine for an overnight stay. I was there for a course the following morning, so I mainly needed somewhere convenient to sleep.
The biggest issue was finding the entrance late at night. The directions were not clear, and after a certain time the entrance is actually on the other side of the building, effectively using a different postcode. I ended up going into another hotel to ask how to get in. Clearer late-night arrival instructions would have made a huge difference, especially when arriving with luggage.
Once inside, everything functioned well and the staff the next morning were kind and helpful. The toiletries were quite basic, and a few extra touches such as toothpaste would have been appreciated, but overall it was a clean, quirky and practical place to stay.
There wasn’t anything I didn’t really like however there was a pillar in the middle of my bedroom so if I had to wake up in the middle of the night and I was dopey and sleepy, I’ve walked into it

Great location just a few hundreds away from Piccadilly Station with tram links, around 10 minutes' walk to Northern Quarter/ Market Street for shopping/restaurants and bars. Didn't bother with breakfast in the hotel as there's loads on the doorstep, Sainsbury's opposite to stock up on snacks/drinks for the room to keep costs down, plenty of coffee shops/Subway/takeaway/fish and chips etc just across the road. Did eat at the bar (not the restaurant but there's a crossover with the menu so plenty of choices), quality of the food was very good and there was a big screen tv showing football at the time so something to watch while eating alone. Didn't feel particularly uncomfortable or obvious as a solo female traveller, room was spacious and felt 'safe'
Could signpost to elevators better - managed to take the wrong turning from room to lift approx 30 times during my stay - just a bit confusing with wall art etc. But splitting hairs, nothing that I'd count as being something that bothered me too much.

Room lighting is poor - no light or bright light, no reading light. Air con is noisy.
