Rooms very spacious. Breakfast was excellent. Staff very helpful and polite.
Late night room service menu not as shown on the TV menu. Pizzas were very doughy and a bit undercooked.

Lovely hotel full of character, great location, stayed there before. Great spacious room and fabulous breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful. Would stay again.
We got a bus lane convention ticket on Oxford street as looking for the car park. It may be worthwhile mentioning to look out for this bus in your information re parking.

The one caramel wafer chocolate bar to share between us was quite the delight! There was a gym in the basement which was nice.
Having stayed in the Kimpton franchise before, I was incredibly disappointed with the service we received on this stay.
Previously when we had visited the Edinburgh hotel for our honeymoon, the team there went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. So much so, we brought our baby there a couple of years later and again, the service as wonderful. This time staying in the Manchester hotel was not a pleasant experience. I had booked this stay for my husbands 40th birthday and we left disappointed. Simple amenities like two cups or water was not in our room. On booking.com it mentions free toiletries, what we didn’t expect is to be threatened with a charge because we took a bottle out of our room to the other room we were moved to. There was no card in our hotel room stating that this was not allowed. The staff member who spoke to us was patronising and frankly very rude.

Great spot in Manchester and our second visit.
No kids pack in bedroom this time… not sure why that was.

Character and decor of the hotel
First night we stayed in a room which was very noisy - you could hear everything from the street outside, people coming out of the clubs, the buses - we hardly slept the first night. We then asked to moved and second room was good. Also extra charge for ordering breakfast dish which was a bit rubbish when you have already paid for breakfast and only had a coffee.

The carefully created atmosphere throughout the hotel, Magnificent reception area. Bedroom retained many original features of the original building construction prior to becoming a hotel and decor e.g the quality of the original carving of the wood framework, cornice etc was an unexpected and refreshing change from the standard boring format of bedroom found in many hotels of similar age.
Choice of meals on the dinner menu was a little sparce compared to competitor hotels. Music in main bar area whilst live DJ was considered to be boring, probably too loud for many and same, same throughout the evening.

Lovely hotel with great staff in a fabulous location
Room was really disappointing. No natural light and bathroom floor flooded during shower. Completely impractical lighting and plug sockets when getting ready

The welcome at reception on check-in was friendly and informative, breakfast was lovely but had booked room only and paid £22 separately, great bar staff, waiters and waitresses throughout the stay. Busy hotel with a welcoming atmosphere. Would stay again!

Amazing location, amazing rooms, great attentive service, highly recommended. We had a Christmas tree in the room! Definitely will stay again.
There is genuinely nothing I didn’t like, maybe just that the breakfast selection was a bit sparse(for £22 per person) and also hot meals and not included for that price that’s on a level of Shanghai-La or Four Seasons..

Beautiful interiors. Very friendly helpful staff. Comfortable beds.
The TV didn’t work. Was for show only. Large flat screen for room service. Staff came to assist with mirroring and agreed didn’t work as hotel didn’t have Smart TV licenses. The food in the restaurant was very average and it was very noisy. The bathroom was small and shower in bath not easy for elderly granny.

Reception was fantastic. Great for an old building
Bar was great nice place to chill. Staff was pleasant and really helpful
Reception staff help with our bags as i had to sort car out for parking but overall nice.
Usure about the flag in front of the Hotel weather it was there to describe the hotel and its views or the area we was in. which is unusual for a Hotel that i have stayed in before
A little lost on what the hotel was trying to be, A place you would go for the night life and just trying to be a nice hotel.
8.0
The comfort and the luxury of the room. Complimentary soft drinks in the mini fridge, the exquisite fittings and cleanliness of the bathroom.
I was in the lower ground floor, and there isn't lift access to this floor, I had to drag a very heavy suitcase to my bedroom which wasn't pleasant and quit difficult.

wi-fi was very poor in the bedroom

Loved the retention of all the period features in the public spaces and the rooms.
Nothing really. Minor niggle that the WiFi reception was poor in the room.

Awe inspiring building that has been sumptuously refurbished. A warm welcome from the front line staff and thoughtful touches provided in your room to use during your stay (fridge, snacks, fresh milk, yoga mat, umbrella, toiletries, etc). All clean and comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful. Wish I had been staying longer to use the gym and restaurant.
I’m glad to say I had no issues with the hotel or my room during my stay.

Beautiful building, brilliant location and staff really friendly. Complimentary drinks in the afternoon, free snacks and coffee/ tea in room. Breakfast options were plentiful for a veggie.
No plant in the room that i'd requested, as part of their 'plant pals' campaign. Room noisy at night from revellers on Oxford road plus the trains! Wish I had some ear plugs with me. Was on the 2nd floor with Oxford road train station outside the window. Also the lift was a little slow so opted for the marble stairs a few times. I'm being super picky- I actually really enjoyed my stay.

The location of the Kimpton was excellent right in the centre of the city, Staff were friendly, helpful, polite and very good at their job, especially the bar staff in the Refuge who did some excellent cocktails. The bar was very nice and had a nice atmosphere, security staff at the entrance were very polite, friendly, very smart and professional in appearance and helpful, especially when asking for directions to locations. Breakfast was Ok, plenty of variety, if it had been warm it would have been very good. Decor of the building was brilliant.
Breakfast was cold/lukewarm which was a disappointment.
I appreciate that the Kimpton clocktower hotel is an old building, plus it's in the centre of the city which can be busy and a noisy environment especially near a lively hotspot as canal street is but the sound insulation in the building was inadequate, it was as if the vehicles and people driving and walking along the street 3 floors beneath our window were actually travelling through our actual room, making it difficult to get a decent night sleep and spoiling our stay at the hotel. I have stayed in similar hotels in similar location and never encountered such noise pollution as you experience at the Kimpton. Not only that but the soundproofing between rooms was also poor as we could not only hear every footstep our neighbour(we only had a neighbour on one side) took as they paced around their room, but also the conversation they were having on their phone. This lack of soundproofing and the noise w pollution we experience did ruin our stay at the Kimpton and we will not be staying again.
