We recently spent ten wonderful days at the Pensione Segusio. Sometimes you walk into a hotel, and you could be anywhere, because they are so much alike. You walk into this lovely pensione, and you could be nowhere else but Venice. The city’s ambience follows you into the hotel from the time you are dropped off at the doorstep by water taxi or after wandering in from the Zattere vaporetto station that is five minutes away and gives access to all the main island’s sights. The furnishings and décor echo the city’s charm perfectly.
Our room, easily reached by either lift or stairs, had two windows giving us views of the side and the Giudecca canals. It was full of character from the period furniture which provided plenty of storage, to the Murano chandelier and matching side lights. The ensuite provided a most welcome Rainforest shower to refresh us after a full day of exploring. The air conditioning was extremely efficient and having the traditional shutters rather than curtains served to remind you where you were.
The 24/7 reception staff were extremely helpful, giving us a large choice of restaurants in the local area that we could easily walk to. The staff in the restaurant were also charming, greeting us with a smile every morning. The inclusive breakfast was a typical continental offering a range of cereals, bread rolls, fruit, warm croissants, meats and cheeses. You could also have either scrambled or boiled eggs and sometimes a breakfast pizza along with various coffees, teas and juices.
In the evening one of our favourite things was to sit on the terrace in front of the hotel, having a glass of wine while watching the comings and goings on the canals. Perfect!
We will be back most definitely!

The property was conveniently located.
The only setback was the smell of the canal almost like sewage went up to the last floor. However, they relocated us to a room that did not have the odor.

Really nice location in the Duodorso, with a window out over the Giudecca canal so I could listen to the boats at night. Hotel has lots of character. Room just what I needed. Nice atmosphere in the area and not swamped with day trippers
The bathroom is a little dated.
Could do with more sockets in the room but good to have USB and USB-C one.

It was a wonderful place to stay. The location was convenient, the staff was very courteous and helpful, and it was very clean. We would highly recommend this hotel as a great place to stay in Venice!
