About this house rental
Nestled in Big Bear, this attractive house for $606 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Situated in Big Bear's most desirable location, this expansive estate is sure to please your large groups. Built in 2006, this 5200 square foot custom home features a state of the art kitchen(plus adjoining butler's kitchen), a formal dining room, step down living room, and upgraded features throughout the house. The living room has plenty of seating along with huge floor to ceiling windows looking directly at Bear Mountain ski resort. The property features 2 huge master suites with Cal king beds and deck access. Incredible Lake and Mountain views are captured from the the master suites and adjoining bathrooms. Each master suite also has a fireplace. New furniture is set to be delivered to the house May 1st and this will include both master bedroom sets! The property features a first floor apartment(6th bedroom) that has a kitchenette, fireplace, and it's own living room. This is a perfect set-up for parents with young kids who would like their own space. For entertainment, the home comes with a pool table, poker table(in the loft), and a new hot tub outside in the extensive decking. We also provide a ping pong table in garage for use during the warmer months. There are flat screen televisions hooked up to cable TV in all of the bedrooms. Wireless internet and free phone use also come with the house. Max Occupancy 14 adults, + 2 kids for 16 total. The house was lovely and spacious. Very nice kitchen, lots of fireplaces and plenty of bathrooms. Lots of living and hanging out space. The views are awesome.
But the house could do with some TLC. Plugs by the sink in two of the bathrooms do not work at all. The shower in the upstairs master bath drains so slowly that it forms a pool while you shower. There are bad drafts from both the front and back door--gaps at the top and bottom of both doors. The leg of one of the beds in one of the upstairs bedrooms broke when we touched the bed--no one sat on it or laid down on it...it just broke.

We loved the house for our group of three families. The biggest issue was that this was a 5 bedroom/ not a 6 bedroom house. The 6th bedroom is a small side room off the room with the pool table. We didn’t think it would be an issue since we were planning on putting a pack n play in there anyways however, there were no doors on the room so we couldn’t do that. There were however many rooms with large closets which were perfect for pack n’ plays. The house itself was awesome but like many others say, it needs a little tweaking… we had two faucet handles literally fall off in our hands including the kitchen one. Basically all of the faucets need to be adjusted which is funny because the house is so beautiful. The hot tub was a little grimy. The house itself was very clean and we felt the kitchen was decently stocked. A couple more sheet pans would have been helpful. We had lowered our expectations from the reviews and the experience did exceed the expectations. Thanks!

This cabin was beautiful and spacious. I’m thankful for that. Unfortunately, the praise ends there. We came up from AZ to escape the heat and enjoy the beauty. Like I said, it was beautiful. However, the house had no AC as promised. 86° is beautiful weather, but not cool enough to be without an AC that we were TOLD we would have. Not to mention, 2 of the 3 plug in fans did not work and 2 tvs did not work upon arrival. There were stains on the walls and windows, and cobwebs in the kitchen. For paying a cleaning fee, I would have expected to have a clean house to come into. There was also a severe ant problem and ants in my bed! Despite these inconveniences, we still were able to have a good time as the location is beautiful. Just know you will not necessarily get what you pay for with this place.

The house was large and could have been very nice BUT, the cleanliness, presentation and overall condition of the rental was not what showed in pictures. First, there are only 14 beds, not 16, as pictures showed 2 rooms with bunk beds but there was only 1 room with them. In the listing it says the first floor has a small attached apartment that has "Bedroom #6-attached apartment with living room, 1 queen, two twins, 1 bunk bed , 1 trundle". This is NOT the case. the sleeping arrangement only had a room with 1 double , 1 twin & a set of bunk beds, for a total of 4 beds.
The kitchen was very sparse in the pots and pans area. No ice maker, or the water was not hooked up to it.
If staying in summer the upstairs was unbearabley hot, only has one air conditioner for downstairs not upstairs. A few of the fans that were there to use were broken.
Furniture was stained and cobwebs on curtains. In one of the bedrooms my son had to take blankets/duct tape to cover the windows upstairs because there was no curtains to block out sun coming in and to not allow outside people looking into the room or bathroom.
On the main floor master there was no closet, I had to hang my clothes on door knobs, no closet in the "closet" room also.
Outside was not presentable, furniture cushions were on the floor, glass table tops hadn't been cleaned for I don't know how long, There was many things I could list but this is a good idea of this rental. Our suggestion: take the time to look around at other properties as this is not a 5 star property.

We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the fresh snow. The cabin has great potential but definitely needs a little touch. The cabin was very clean and it looked amazing at first. but some of the beds are pretty old and uncomfortable. The cabin is listed with 6 bedrooms, but we had a hard time locating the sixth one, which is more like a closet than a bedroom. Overall we had a great stay. Wished the property management was more responsive to our requests.

I had read the reviews about the property before I booked and knew there would be some quirks. For the most part it wasn't bad. The pictures were a little different than what was there and the water situation was a bit weird, like if someone was showering downstairs the master had no water at all. It was definitely big enough for our group of 16 and we did enjoy the property. The check in was frustrating since it was about 10 minutes in the opposite direction of the property instead of a keypad or something along those lines. The trash dump was a bit farther than expected also but supposedly that's a big bear thing. Small ant problem in the laundry room near the window by the sink. For the most part it was enjoyable.

We had plan a baby shower for our friend wife. Everything wasn’t how we expected because we call a day before to we get the key early but when we arrived we wait untill 3:30 we got the key. Also when we went to the house the water was shut down and no heat we were freezing and also the kids also we keep calling them they say we will send a special to check we keep waiting form 3:30 without water and heat untill 7:30 pm. Untill one of the guest she got fatigued and dazines because she couldn’t use the restroom and we have called 911 they came and took care of her and also they help us and fix the water. This is the worst rental event and I don’t recommend it and also the have bad customer service.

This is a beautiful cabin. Especially if you are going with a bigger group the inside is very nice, and open. There were a few cons to this property. One was that it’s listed as a 6 bedroom. We were very shock to see that one of the “rooms” was in the theatre room it was more of a closet with a bed inside, that was very inconvenient for us. Also, you have to drive about 10 min to dump out your trash, and there are no curtains throughout the house. However, If none of those things bother you this is definitely a beautiful cabin to stay at and it’s near everything!

I really expected a better use of the house. My wife’s wallet with credit cards, medical cards license etc. were stolen from the truck the first night we were there. The shower heads in all bathrooms were shooting water everywhere and we had to clean them. many electric outlets didn’t have power, many windows didn’t have curtains, or they wouldn’t give you privacy and the garage didn’t have lights
Inside or outside. Found the front door unlocked and the alarm was not working, the garage was being used as storage for junk and so as other spaces throughout the house. The balconies around the house are so loose that I worried when members of my family were walking on them. The beauty of the house is there but the upkeep has been failing her and will undoubtedly take it under. The house is screaming for repairs and hopefully nobody gets injured in future rentals.

House could use some upgrades. Ovens are extremely old and small and max temperature is 250 degrees. AC unit is not in good working condition. Bedrooms upstairs are extremely hot. Kitchen is not stocked too great, none of the knives are sharp, missing a ton of kitchen essentials, come prepared. Also, bring trash bags, paper towels, etc.
For the amount they charge to rent this property, the way its stocked its disappointing.

I come to big bear 3 times a year and this is the first time I deal with five star vacation rental Extremely horrible management , five star vacation rental are the worst company, don’t deal with them , first of all they are so sure don’t like to help their clients if they don’t like what you say they will hang up the phone in your face , when we arrived to the cabin which was not quite what it was advertised as. Uncomfortable beds , broken noisy garage doorWhat a disappointment!!! This home was DIRTY! All the furnishings were worn out! smelled really bad , I wish I could give this house 0 stars. My family and I were excited to stay at this house after viewing the pictures online , I don’t recommend this cabin it had rats in it and when we called the five star rental they said it’s normal cuz we were in the middle of nature the manager Julie said that she had a celebrity who complained from bats in his cabin and she thought it was normal and funny the WiFi was very weak couldn’t finish my work online Five star vacation rental needs to work more on their customer service , Recognizing any potential issues or pain points before you have the chance to disappoint your guests will certainly help you on your way to receiving a full set of five-star reviews. Now that you know why your guests complain, make sure you offer them the best guest experience possible. After all, your vacation rental business wouldn’t be anything without your guests.

The property itself was great. However there were a few issues. None of the outside lights worked making it hard to see at night. Not safe when arriving at night and ice/snow is present up the walk way. 0 of the patio lights worked either. 1 of the fireplaces did not work, but maintenance came right away to fix the issue.

This property is absolutely stunning. We vacationed up here for a week and it was the most memorable week I've ever spent up at Summit. Not only is the interior intricately appointed, but the views are breathtaking, and the outdoor space is just as wonderful. The kids had fun with the pool table and chased each other around outside on the decking. The access to nature is immediate, but we didn't want to leave this luxurious place. We've already booked next year! :)
