Beautiful, large room. Beautiful hotel in general. Feeling of low key luxury. Good value as well compared to London prices.
A common problem with hotels in the UK: lack of sound proofing. Guests talking on the next room at 1AM is not fun.
Doors slamming is a sport, apparently.
Breakfast is extremely british, which unfortunately for me, means lack of bread and cold choices. But plenty of warm stuff for those who are into a heavy breakfast.
Clean in general, but the toilet was not properly cleaned when I got my room.
The shower water was alternating between very hot and cold sometimes, that really needs fixing unless it's supposed to be part of the spa experience!

This was a comfortable stay. The room appeared in good condition and was a good size. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The room was definitely dated and the spa area (although well thought through and has great potential) was lacklustre and was not particularly well maintained.

There were several things we really enjoyed about our stay. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, making it easy to get a good night’s sleep. The bathroom was spacious, well laid out and had plenty of room. We also really liked the hotel’s bar and restaurant areas. The outdoor seating area was another nice touch, providing a pleasant space to sit and enjoy a drink particularly when the weather was nice.
On our first morning, we were let into the breakfast area by a member of staff and were allowed to go ahead and have breakfast. However, while we were in the main dining area, the same member of staff approached us then later another, and told us that we had not paid for breakfast. We found this quite embarrassing and uncomfortable, particularly as the conversation took place in front of other guests who were able to hear. If there was an issue with our breakfast entitlement, we feel it would have been much more appropriate to clarify this before allowing us into the dining area, rather than raising it publicly once we were already seated among other guests and eating our food.
Another issue was when my partner realised he had left his jacket in the bar area the previous evening. When we enquired at reception the following night, the member of staff at the desk immediately told us that nothing had been handed in. However, another member of staff overheard the conversation and corrected them, confirming that the jacket had in fact been handed in. We found this quite unsettling, as it gave the impression that the first member of staff had not properly checked before telling us that the jacket was not there. A little more care and attention when dealing with guests’ enquiries would have been appreciated.

Nice place decent sized rooms
We actually didn’t want to stay here after some in our group were quoted over double what we paid due to having a dog. The rest of the group went elsewhere but they refused us & another couple a refund. When we told staff on the desk that they had missed out on another 12 people staying inc. evening & breakfast meals because of this they were disinterested.
