What more is there to say? This was our fifth stay at this hotel, which ranks among our top three favorite places to stay in Italy. And it just keeps getting better. The welcome is increasingly friendly (thank you, Federica and colleague—especially the "ragazza" who once again assisted us during our early morning departure, complete with a delicious breakfast to go!). The breakfast has been improved and expanded to include à la carte options (served by the same friendly lady as in previous years). Furthermore, the hotel continues to excel thanks to its cleanliness, a very comfortable bed, spacious room, a fantastic location (in equally fantastic Bergamo!), and an excellent nearby parking garage. We look forward to our next visit!
We had already noticed last year that the air conditioning in our room (two-level family room) wasn't quite up to the task. That is likely why there was a fan in the room this time, to help circulate the cooler air more effectively. Given that this hotel scores so well in so many other areas, we are happy to overlook this minor inconvenience...

Perfectly located in the heart of Bergamo’s beautiful Upper City, the Gombit Hotel benefits from an outstanding setting. The staff are extremely kind and attentive, and the breakfast is of very good quality.
However, there is a noticeable musty smell on the ground floor that would benefit from being addressed. More importantly, the value for money is disappointing. €400 per night for a “deluxe” room feels hard to justify, especially given the interior design, which lacks coherence and refinement despite the “Design Hotels”
