We had a travel hiccup and needed a room that was safe, clean, and affordable to stay in and we were placed in the Moon Suite. It was so comfy and beautiful. Staff was very friendly and it was a 20 minute walk from anything we needed. Next time we stay in Vancouver, we'll be using this location again.

Just such a beautiful stay! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Everything was seamless, from check-in to booking event venue. The hotel is very well located, walking distance from lots of restaurants and bars. The lobby is an amazing art gallery. The sauna and the rooftop are perfect places to relax, and the rooms are so well decorated. Definitely recommend, 10/10

Such a unique place to stay! The service provided was exceptional and the cleanliness of the hotel is another level.

Very unique setting in what used to be an Indigenous gallery. Wall art in the room was also very unique. Only 9 minute walk to Rogers Arena. We were on the 6th floor and wifi was spotty at best. Continental breakfast was definitely nothing to write home about.

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous. Our room was stunning. Such incredible thought was put into decorating the room, as well as the public areas. I loved all of the art we could see. Lots of nice amenities in the room as well. There are loads of great restaurants in the area and it's a super easy walk to Rogers Center for a hockey game. The area seemed a little iffy when we checked in but we had no issues whatsoever. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Vancouver, and will definitely stay again if I'm back in the area.

The hotel was beautiful inside the rooms were clean, quiet, beautifully decorated. The FN art was very nice. The area around the hotel is sketchy at best but being in downtown Van east end that can of course be expected. What wasnt expected was that the Hotel overcharged me by $430 on top of the room fee for the night, which I called later the same day after checking out and it was hard to get someone to answer the phone. They apologized & promised I would be reimbursed, but charged my credit card the same amount once again. So at this point they had taken $862.84 from my card not including the price of the room which they had also taken off earlier for a total of 1180 dollars. Once again I had trouble getting someone on the phone and left a stern message which wasnt returned until Monday the 27th when my stay was friday the 24th of Nov. with checkout Saturday the 25th. Once again I was told I was being reimbursed this time for the full amount they had taken including the price of the room but that they would have to recharge the price of the room afterwards and so they immediately re-charged the room price of 318, so now the total of Money they were tying up of mine was at minimum $1500. Reimbursements eventually went through a full week later which I understand is how long such things can take but hat being said I feel like I should have been fully reimbursed for everything including the price of the room for the trouble they caused. Very stressful for me and unprofessional

The staff were friendly and helpful. The he room was nice. The bed was very comfortable. The location was great for walking to many of the restaurants and attractions. The floor in our room was not very clean. I was happy that I had brought slippers…It wasn’t dirty, but seemed very dusty.

Great over all I would stay here again . Only thing I was a bit annoyed about was that I asked if there was parking and was told no I had to use the sketchy parking lot. Upon check out the people ahead of me stated there was under ground parking and they had used it .

Amazing staff!
Neighborhood could have been better, but that isnt the fault of this great place to stay

Fantastic little hotel. Definitely will look to stay here again next time i'm in Vancouver

The property is definitely a hidden gem and super close to the Stadiums, Chinatown and the sky train. Not the best area of town, being a block from East Hastings, but the people on the street generally left us alone.

Great concept but was short on well trained staff. The area is surrounded by homeless people which makes one feel rather unsafe. Breakfast was limited and not ready on time.

Property was great. Area outside was not so great. I took my 11 yo son to Vancouver for his bday. I was surprised to see so many homeless smoking hard drugs in the open and didn’t love my son seeing it so much. Homeless also harassed us quite a bit and made many inappropriate comments to me. The hotel was great though and we felt safe in there.

Beautiful artwork in the guest room & common areas. Inviting area for sauna, although I didn't expect it & had not packed a bathing suit. Nice pottery mugs & glassware for beverages; not just paper cups.

Amazing boutique hotel! Centrally located. Rooms are unique and well appointed. Everything was clean. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Continental breakfast was amazing, not the usual fare, with fresh fry-bread, house-made yogurt cups and mini savory quiche bites that were delish!
Close to amazing restaurants and attractions.
Be mindful that this is downtown Vancouver and like most large cities, the area is a tapestry made of all kinds of people. You will see drug use, there will be unhoused folks. This is the reality of most urban centres. I was a single woman travelling alone and felt very safe.
I would definitely stay here again!

We were in 502 for four days. Tiny room, air conditioner with the hose hanging out the window. One fob when we first arrived. Had been set for the six floor so it would not work. I had to come down and replace that. I supposed to get a knock on the door at 3:30 AM as we were leaving at four and the knock never came. Fortunately, my phone did wake us up…last time we stayed. We had a great room and amenities but not this time. Will probably not stay there again.

What a fantastic place to stay when visiting Vancouver. Clean, artsy, great location. Few minutes from Gastown and Canada place. Thank you.

Great location of the property. The rooms are modern and the property is run and operated by an indigenous community.
I would book again

sketchy area to walk in, especially at night. Safe parking offers limited hours

One of a kind hotel in Vancouver. Definitely worth staying there, close to main attractions. Memorable experience in Native culture. Breakfast bannock was delicious. Breakfast needs at least one protein though. Will definitely come back when in Vancouver

The good:
The hotel itself, GREAT! I had room 607 and it was very clean, stocked really well with towels and toiletries. A very comfortable bed with a very detailed guide book on the hotel and the area with things to do and recommendations, no complaints. Right at the entrance of Chinatown and walking distance to public transportation like bus stops and the skytrain just a few blocks over. About a 8 min walk to Gastown which is a very popular area for shopping, bars, and restaurants.
The bad:
I hate to discredit the hotel because of the area, but the area is just BAD. The homeless population is out of control and unfortunately, it’s slow progress and the amount of transients doing drugs right outside the hotel makes it feel unsafe. Granted, they never once bothered us and they minded their own business, but the area itself doesn’t make it feel safe to walk at night because of how many there are. Unfortunately, the street right behind the hotel is like a congregation area for them and it’s very prominent at night.

Very close to west end attractions but unfortunate homeless people were prevalent close to the hotel. Not hotels fault but it was a bit concerning

Loved concept and staff. Lovely room. Property itself was lovely but area outside of hotel was very derelict...however felt very safe in property. Was given erroneous info about parking but appreciated how they found a spot for us. Best of luck to the artists.

Everything is amazing with this lodge: room, staff, etc but there’s a problem in Vancouver with drug addiction and it’s located a few blocks from it.
We walked at day and night and had zero issues, coming and going and visiting water street which is close by but if you are impressed it’s not the place for you. Other than that can’t imagine a better place to stay.

Very unique hotel. Very near entrance to Chinatown.

Location was sketchy on the edge of Chinatown. Sidewalk was dirty with dog poop every day. Pillows were terrible. Room was small. Staff very friendly.

The room was clean and neat, very updated. Front desk personnel were very helpful and polite. Bed was comfortable although bed had a wooden break front that was useful for placing items on, but for watching tv, it obstructed the view. Tv should be moved a little higher. View of adjoining building left a lot to be desired. Refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, safe, blow dryer we’re in room. Breakfast was continental and convenient. Building was very secure but area was extremely scary. Once we checked in, we didn’t want to venture out until morning to check out. Would recommend hotel but area needs help!!

The personel was very kind, and very attentive. Everything was clean I the rooms had many commodities. I just had a problem with the room smelling a lot like Pot. We were in for just one night. And all of our luggage and clothes ended up smelling like marihuana for a whole week. I know it's difficult to control that, but either way we didn't like it. When we go to a new hotel room we want a clean smell. Not a saturated weed smell

This is a great and very unique hotel. Impeccably clean, and iso much more interesting than staying in a chain. It's in a sketchy area, no question, but within walking distance to great restaurants and bars. The homeless people, while in big numbers and openly using, were not at all threatening (it wasn't at all like San Fran, for example). We almost canceled after reading reviews, but in the end we were very glad we stayed here.

Very cool concept, great central location, very clean and beautifully decorated with great respect to Indigenous culture. Love the underground parking ($), breakfast was plentiful.

This First Nation hotel was our choice in Vancouver. Everything inside was excellent, the room was brilliant. Decor, comfort & cleanliness couldn’t be faulted. The only downside (which could not be ignored) was the large number of homeless/addicts on the nearby streets. We never felt threatened but it was uncomfortable to experience. A great shame to see in a fabulous city.

This place was really nice and the staff was also really nice, but the area out side was absolutely terrible people doing drugs on the sidewalk right outside the hotel door DO NOT say here with a family or kids it is unsafe there is so many homeless on that city block like 50-100 I would recommend finding a different place to say in a different part of town.

I can’t say enough about this hotel. Very friendly staff, nice rooms and great breakfast! Rick who greeted us went over and beyond to make sure our stay was wonderful and he succeeded in every way! The gift shop is something to see, as most of the merchandise is from local artist that they support. I definitely would recommend and definitely stay here again!

Interesting rooms and nice little gift shop with Indigenous art. Staff were also very friendly.
However, it is located in a very sketchy area of town with a lot of homeless and drug addicts on the street. Did not feel safe wandering about after dark
