Phenomenal place to stay in!

What a hidden gem in Playa Del Carmen! This place and the host Francis will give the feeling of coming home to your family! Which is the first time I ever felt like being at home in a “hotel”. Me and my girlfriend does not speak Spanish, and every other hotels we where at didn’t speak English throughout Yucatán. But Franchis spoke perfectly english and was the perfect “guide” not just in Playa but for the whole of Yucatán. He gave us good advices of where to go and what to do! The room was very clean and pretty. it had all the necessities that you need and with good quality. The room even had a Google home which was handy to play some music on and had a smart tv where we could watch Netflix. And don’t let me start on the breakfast… Wow, wow, wow! Homemade juice, bread, cake, marmalade and freshly made breakfast every day. The first day we got in-house cured Salmon and the second day we got enchiladas. Thank you so much for the stay, and this is a must for us next time we will come back to Playa!

Great quiet location but only 5 mins walk to the centre. Attentive host who is freely available and provides useful local info. Super breakfast (fruit, cooked & pastries/breads) served in lovely shaded outdoor area. Room facilities good & with a lovely roof terrace, containing sun loungers, hot tub & shaded area.

Only minor issue is that the roof area is beginning to look a little tired & perhaps needs a little 'tlc'. But don't let that put you off - we used it twice in the evenings to relax and watch the sunset.

The host is extremely rude and intimidating, avoid at all cost!

In retrospect - We had a terrible stay. Nothing was to our liking.

We were shown two rooms, the one (Which we ordered) suffered from renovation noise, and the other didn't have a working light. Both rooms smelled terribly of mold. When confronted about the smell, rather than acknowledging the issue and offering an alternative or a discount, the manager shrugged it off and asked if we wanted to pay more for a better room. He later had the nerve to blame us for "Fishing for a discount", instead of trying to make our stay more enjoyable. He even bigoted us for letting him know that we're on our post-engagement trip, again, blaming us for "Fishing for a discount". The jacuzzi on the rooftop was cold. Not even sealed so it could be heated. The rooms work with fingerprints which is a bit gimmicky and tedious to set up. The host also brags about "accommodating our every need" - All he did was confirm the reservation changes I made via booking. It's super trivial, and it sounded like I'm being blamed again for using a super common function of Booking - Changing dates until my itinerary is final. He also tried blaming the musty smell on the seagrass season - What a load of bull. I'm unfortunately very familiar with moldy apartments, and the smell is very distinct and cannot be mistaken for anything other than mold. You'll notice how the host personally attacks each and every negative reviewer, bullying them online and bigotting them for their awful experience. If you're reading this - Do yourself a favor, avoid this establishment. It's just not worth the risk of being called out and having your trip ruined. I'm not being overdramatic, this guy personally attacks you for the smallest weakness you show. AVOID AT ALL COST.

Fantastic

The cutest little bed and breakfast in Playa. Francis was such a great host. Fantastic breakfast every morning. We loved that it was small and intimate and in a quiet part of town yet so close to all the action. Francis also has the best restaurant and activity recommendations!

The host was very kind, the room is so cool, very high tech lightening and the jacuzzi was amazing way to relax. From the roof top you can enjoy the city view. A good place to escape from noisy playa del Carmen.

Very unpleasant and intimidating.

Not hot water. Aggressive and intimidating host. No hot water in the hot tub. Internet went out. Construction. Loud. Overpriced. They make you take your fingerprint for a security system that didn't work for me. Charged for a key I left at the property with the host; I only paid because the host got aggressive and scary, and as a single female traveler I just needed to get away from him. Host was hostile on top of not being able to accommodate travel plans. Horrible stay.

We are so glad to have booked here! The rooms were great, wifi worked well, location is excellent! Very close to everything while still being quiet at night. Beds were also super comfy! Keyless entry was very convenient! Highly recommend and we will definitely stay here again when coming back to Playa del Carmen

Has potential

The place is nice, clean, with amenities, and free breakfast based on what the host is serving that day; community-based and far enough away for some quiet. Great wifi connection in the room and security. Allows dogs.

The host's demeanor and hospitality was not up to our standards as my fiance felt very insulted multiple times. The room we stayed in was not conducive for remote working due to size and minimal natural lighting. Though a better room to our liking was available we were not accommodated. The rooftop internet was lacking speed. Using our fingerprints was secure but scary. Finally, I overpaid the value that I booked for.

we had wonderful stay.

Francis the owner was very helpful and really friendly, his homemade breads and jams along with the cooked breakfast were amazing. the bed was comfy and the shower was powerful and hot. the hotel is in a great position nice and quite yet only a 2 minute walk from the busy 5th ave which was buzzing all night.

Such a special place

We had booked 2 nights and stayed 3 because we loved it! The place really is luxurious - our room was equipped with a double rainshower, shower products from Rituals, and smart lights. Super central location, but a quiet and peaceful place. Francis, the host, is so nice and an awesome cook - he served us a surprise breakfast every morning. He has three wonderful dogs and we were even allowed to take them for a walk! 🐶😍

Nice room, good location, great breakfast

The owner, Francis, is very friendly and makes you feel very much at home. The room is spacious and comfortable. The bed, the shower, and the AC are very nice. Francis is also a great cook, and he makes a fresh artisanal breakfast, with new recipes every day. The location is great - away from the noise and the crowds (although there is some noise coming from the street), but it's still pretty close to the beach, and with many affordable restaurants nearby. Overall, I am satisfied with my stay, and can easily recommend staying here.

The internet connection was a little slow. But it's not a big deal, especially on vacation.
