Beautiful old world hotel in perfect location

Location was perfection. Front desk staff very friendly (if not always super informed). Decor and style of the room were lovely.

Breakfast service was hit or miss. A lot of mistakes -- bringing the wrong items, forgetting things we asked for. It also seems a bit overpriced. Carpets in our room (401) were stained in many places and kind of gross.

Perfect location, friendly and helpful staff!

We loved our stay at this beautiful hotel! The hotel is located on a quiet street with easy access to many of Amsterdam's top sights via a short walk or nearby public transportation connections. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The only minor suggestion we have for improvement is to upgrade the towels; they seemed a bit old and worn. Everything else was wonderful!

Dejligt hotel - husk at tjekke, om du får den type seng(e), du har bestilt

God beliggenhed tæt på mange spisesteder, og i gåafstand til shopping. Meget unikt indrettede værelser med en god seng. Lækker á la carte morgenmad.

Ved reservation bad jeg om et værelse med 2 senge. Ved indcheckning fik vi et værelse med dobbeltseng og dobbeltdyne. Dobbeltseng er OK, men når man rejser med venner, er dobbeltdyne ikke så fedt, så vi bad receptionen om at få en ekstra dyne. Receptionisten sagde, at housekeeping lige var gået, men han ville prøve at klare det. Da vi kom tilbage om aftenen efter at have været ude at spise, var der ingen ekstra dyne på værelset. Men da var vi for trætte til at gøre noget og endnu mindre at skulle skifte værelse. Så vi måtte dele dynen.

Would not recommend.

Great location

The staff was miserable - we asked for help with the heat and they told us we had to figure it out on our own. We asked for extra pillows and they never came. The worst of all was the stained sheets we asked them to switch and they didn’t.

Charming and Unique!

Die Mitarbeiter waren alle sehr freundlich und gaben viele Tipps für Ausflüge. Das Hotel selbst ist charmant und einzigartig. Das Bett im Zimmer war sehr bequem und gross. Beim Frühstück hat es eine eher kleine Auswahl, doch es hat mehr als genug und war sehr lecker!

Es fehlten kleine Dinge wie Seifenschalen und Schubladen um kleinere Sachen zu verstauen. Der Kühlschrank kühlte leider nach dem ersten Tag nicht mehr.

Sightseeing in Amsterdam

Vriendelijk personeel, hele mooie kamer (en bad) en een prima locatie. Prima a la carte ontbijt. Centraal gelegen en alle bezienswaardigheden op loopafstand. Het hotel zit in een oud grachtenpand wat een bijzondere sfeer geeft.

De bereikbaarheid, maar dat geldt voor de hele binnenstad van Amsterdam (en niet de schuld van het hotel). Tip parkeer op een P+R en neem de metro naar Amsterdam CS.

Awesome hotel

Amazing hotel, typical dutch building. Awesome decoration, nice room and modern bathroom.

Our room was not located in the main building. We were travelling with a baby so it was quite uncomfortable to leave our buidling, cross the street and reach the main hall to have breakfast. Just a reminder, main accesses in Amsterdam are step stairs and in january is a cold city.

With new management, the Toren could be a great hotel in the center of Amsterdam

The two and only good things about this hotel is the breakfast and the staff that work in the bar/lounge where the breakfast is served. The hotel is in a great location in Amsterdam.

Very over priced for what the hotel is offering. As soon as you check in you will notice the kitchen is open to the corridor and since they cook eggs it smells very bad all day. They need to learn what incense, candles and ventilation are. My room had a plumbing machine inside the shower which was making extremely loud noise from 4am until all hours of the day keeping me from sleeping. I should have been immediately moved in the beginning of the week or refunded my money. Instead they offered me one free complimentary drink until checkout when I showed them the videos of how awful the noise was. The supervisor on the day of checkout was very rude to me and reluctantly gave me a partial refund because he agreed with me that what I endured was unacceptable but he contradicted himself by arguing with me on every word instead of understanding the basic rule of customer service that you should always hear constructive feedback from your customers. I booked a "garden view" deluxe room. There was no garden, esp during the winter. There is an outdoor area that has 3 cottages around it so it's not really open to guests, and definitely not opened in the winter. There are no plants outside and from my window the garden they were claiming was some plants from another nearby property. Houskeeping failed to clean my room completely one day and the next day did an incomplete job. It is really a shame because this hotel, if managed well, could be a gem given it's location.

Classic hotel in a great location near to most all sites of interest.

Great location and classic flair of Amsterdam.

The bed was very, very firm. I rarely have back pain, but did every morning after sleeping (trying to) on the bed.

Classy facility with a helpful staff right in the middle of the old city.

We were given an upgrade at no additional cost, a free-standing cabin with a sitting area, beautiful bath and shower with separate toilet room, and a king bed. The location is great, right on a canal, very close to the Anne Frank House, in the midst of the old city with plenty of restaurants and plazas within easy walking distance.

The weather -- late July with high temperatures in the 60s -- is very cold for people from Texas.

Everything far exceeded our expectations!

The location was perfect. It was centrally located with a perfect view. The room was luxurious and spacious with a jacuzzi tub for 2! The staff was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to help us with everything. I wish we were staying longer than one night.

Lovely location,beautiful hotel but value for money not demonstrated

Location was excellent. The room was comfortable. We had a good night’s sleep as it was very dark when the curtains were closed. Lovely shower with plenty of hot water

The TV in the room didn’t work. We couldn’t get any channel apart from YouTube. We told the staff and despite promising to send someone up to the room, they didn’t. The minibar was only stocked with complimentary coke. Such a disappointment. At £400 / night I would have expected breakfast

Nice but expensive.

Great location, funky decor. The room was nicebut small for two people and luggage. We were in a different building but it was not too far away. It was quiet and they gave nice touches.

The room was too small for two people with luggage. The view from the window was terrible. We didn't get breakfast as it was too expensive. I think it was a nice place but expensive but everywhere in Amsterdam is expensive.

Beautiful hotel with stunning decor . Food & drink excellent and the staff are wonderful. So professional and friendly . Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and only wished we were staying longer !

Exceptional

A beautiful hotel in a great spot of Amsterdam. We had 5 night stays in the cottage room; a wonderful of experience of a hotel suit plus access to the backyard. The breakfast is also very good which is served in the beautiful and cosey bar/restaurant area. Most staff are very friendly and caring - great special tanks to Veladi whose helps, hints and guidance made our stay even more efficient and enjoyable.

Definitely worth the money and truly enjoyed my stay here!

Love every aspects of this hotel. Location was great - just a 10min walk and it was a nice breezy walk to the Amsterdam Central. The room was cosy and has this nice, homey vibe. The jacuzzi in the room was definitely a plus point! I love the connected private inner yard. Room comes with complete amenities and a coffee machine! The breakfast was great too, love the croissants and the staff were very attentive to serve me halal chicken slice and vegan cheese without me asking.

room size could be better, but since I was traveling alone, it's just nice. Would be a bit crowded though if I was traveling with a partner or family.

Staff very friendly

Location was the best. But , after having booked this hotel in good time, I disliked being offered A dark room in the Annex, 4 houses away. This was un-acceptable. After showing our disappointment, a much better room was offered in main house. A bad start.

First night the twin bed was very badly made. Sheets all over. But fixed during second night Also, no help was offered getting our suitcases up the stairs at front door. I am 79 and that was not nice
