A cozy home minutes walk from Eaton Centre
About this house rental
Located in Toronto, this lovely house for $120 per night is a great option for your next vacation. New, fall of 2019 - Yay, we got Disney+ for the little ones and for the big ones that feel like little ones. ** Quick note! ** Vanessa is a licensed realtor. If you are looking to purchase or rent property in the Greater Toronto Area, please let us know! Being an immigrant herself, she is happy to welcome immigrants to our country and share her experience of integrating into life in Canada. The Space... Stay in downtown Toronto and treat yourself to a full house for your full family! There is even a parking spot included. There are stairs! If you are afraid of stairs, please let us know. We do not recommend our place to anyone with a mobility challenge. There are 5 levels to our house. ** Mark Hamill Suite ** On the bottom floor, the Mark Hamill suite will delight your inner geek with its Star Wars themed decorations, the 4K LED TV, the Xbox 360, and an Apple TV hooked up to Netflix. The mini apartment has its own on suite bathroom, a pink couch (that folds out as well) with a coffee table for geeks who want to entertain other geeks (or geekettes! We are equal opportunity labelers). A queen size bed rests in a side nook, with a tiny death star lamp hovering nearby, ready to extinguish a tiny dreaded Rebel Alliance once and for all. ** The Main Floor ** The main floor encompasses the main entrance, the kitchen, the living room and a dining room. Our kitchen is equipped and ready for your cooking needs. We have a gas stove/oven, so if you like your home cooked meals to taste “flamey", you are in luck! A stainless steel fridge is also waiting for you, with a big freezer for those looking to preserve and protect (meat). We have a policy of not-throwing-away food, so please help yourself to all the food in the house. Usually there is a good amount of condiments, oils, vinegar (balsamic or other), lots of coffee ready to be ground and placed in the drip coffee maker, and the occasional bottle of wine the odd traveler leaves behind (Thank you kind sir!) A 55" LED TV faces the couch and the round coffee table, and it is hooked up to a 4th generation Apple TV. We have Netflix hooked up and we can change the Netflix's country catalog on demand to whatever country you want. The ad-free premium version of Hulu can also be found on the Apple TV, plus a lot of other goodies, like the BBC iPlayer, Channel 4, and more. Did I mention we are geeks and we love technology? We also have an Xbox One with tons of games in the living room, and by tons, I mean TONS. It has two controllers, ready to take your sibling rivalry to new levels. Under the skylight in the corner a dining table that seats 6 is waiting to be filled with pizza boxes and inexpensive Asian takeout containers. ** The 2nd Floor ** This is a busy floor! There are two bedrooms here. One is what we call “The Romantic Room", mainly because of the curtains which seemed romantic to Vanessa when we were decorating it. The first bedroom sports a queen size bed and a cute dressing table with a mirror. The room also has a sizeable walk-in closet that is ready to receiving the day's shopping, or it can also store your luggage, a mariachi band and 9 bernese mountain dogs. Yes, its that big. The 2nd bedroom on the 2nd floor is what we first intended to be the kids-room-but-also-adults-can-sleep-here-too room. It has bunk-over-full bed and kids toys, and a tiny carpet to play with your hot-wheels cars. The bottom bunk is big enough to sleep two sized adults comfortably. There is a closet in the corner, but it isn't the walk-in type. You can walk into it, but then you're just a person in a closet. Which is fine. We love you. There is a bathroom as well on this floor with a bathtub and a sink (thank you mr.obvious). The floor also has a washer and a dryer, for the washing and drying of your clothes. European travelers – most of you have never used a dryer, but you will love it! It's the North American way of drying clothes, at a steep cost, rather than drying them by hanging them outside the window, for free. ** The Third Floor ** The third floor of the house comprises of one massive master bedroom. A king-size bed will ensure you are rested for the day of adventuring that lies ahead. In the corner, on the desk, a wireless duo-tone laser printer, a capsule based coffee maker so you can make your own drinks without having to go down to the kitchen, and an iMac for you to browse on. Did I mention we're techno nerds? A 46" LED TV with an Apple TV hangs on the far wall. You can watch Netflix or Shomi from bed, both offering thousands of movies and shows at your fingertips, while you order imaginary servants to fetch you exotic delights, guaranteed never to arrive. There is an on suite bathroom with a fancy shower apparatus and a his-and-hers or his-and-his or hers-and-hers sinks. For shop-o-holics, there is also a large walk-in-closet for your luggage, shopping etc - but please don't store your kids in there, its not an actual room. ** The Roof Deck ** The roof deck is a roof type deck roof-place, an outdoor open area with a picnic table and a BBQ. It is a magical place to spend the summer days with 12 of your closest friends, watching over the city lights, sipping sangria and listening to The White Stripes being angry about something or other. Guest Access 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a rooftop patio with a BBQ. A fully equipped kitchen, TVs, Xbox, unlimited internet, an office, a printer and other goodies. A parking spot. Interaction with Guests Sadly, unless you insist we move in with you for the duration, we will only interact enough to check you in or if you invite us over for cocktails. We like cocktails. The Neighbourhood Welcome to the Village! Home to a thriving mix of restaurants, cafes and clothing stores and ground zero for the annual Pride Week. With some of the finest martini bars and restaurants in the city, The Village is the spiritual home of the LGBT community. The house is located 13 minutes walk from Dundas Square and the Eaton Centre, and the PATH, the largest covered shopping area in the world (33KM!). You also have Allan Gardens 30 seconds walk away. Kensington Market is a 10 minute street car ride away, or 30 minute walk. Loblaws at Maple Leaf Gardens is the closest supermarket (a very nice one, too!) 4 minutes walk away. There is a cooking school inside where one can enjoy cooking courses. The supermarket is a massive 85,000 square feet. Getting around College Metro Station is 8 minute walk away. We have XBOX games for those who like to spend their vacation days locked indoor, wrapped in blankets, eyes glued to the TV. Totally not judging!

We really enjoyed our stay in Toronto and the house was perfect; we used all the stairs as our exercise vs worrying about a gym!! The house was in a perfect location so we got in lots of walks vs worrying about parking every time we went out. So much was within walking distance, so we seldom used the rental except for the rainy days or the days we went further out from downtown. More than enough room for all of us and the rooftop was great for my son who loves to read outside and the kids were able to play UNO a few days when it was not too windy up there. Hope to return to your great city again. Thank you again for everything.

Amazing family stay!
This house was perfect for our trip. It was central enough to explore Toronto, but had the amenities for a very pleasurable stay. We went to the Hockey HOF, a Blues Game, and other great places to see in Toronto. Owners were great and reachable. House is a smart home, so if you have problems, the owners could help over the phone.
Great place! Great Owners! Thank you for our Fall Break vacation!

TIFF-Riffic!
My friends and I all turned 50 this year (2019) and celebrated by taking in the Toronto International Film Festival. This property was perfect for the four of us, as we each had our own room to stay in, while being able to visit in the spacious living space on the main floor. The location of this property was perfect for our events, as many were within walking distance. The house is well cared for, and comfortable, and turned out to be the perfect property for our trip!

Céntrica casa en Toronto. Impecable.

Great place in Toronto for family city discovery
Calin and the Jarvis House are stars. The humor Calin injected into detailed property descriptions and especially the house manual online was truly inspired and unique. Everything was described accurately and in detail. I would stay here again when our travels bring us to Toronto. I don't know how they made the master bath soap smell like 7-Up but I loved it. The rooftop area is fantastic. Well apportioned place to stay and cook for a family. My one regret is not getting to meet Calin and Vanessa in person. Thanks fo a great family experience!

The house was wonderful!!! It worked great for a multigenerational family. We used it as a base for a week in Toronto. There are restaurants, churches, grocery stores and public transportation within easy walking distance. We learned how to use public transportation and uber so even though there is parking for a car we did not rent a car. The layout of the house gave each couple privacy. The roof top patio is beautiful! The 7, 9, and two 40 year old “kids” enjoyed playing the video games. The master bath has a great spa-like shower. We would certainly consider this house the next time we are in Toronto.

Our city adventure
Vanessa and Calin are just the most professional and friendly hosts you could wish for. The house has literally everything you might need, it is really well equipped and in a great location to explore Toronto. We had a plumbing breakdown during our stay (nobody's fault just one of those things!), Vanessa and Calin returned from their own weekend away to deal with the whole situation swiftly and professionally and had the issue fixed in no time. We loved Toronto and the house location allows you to walk the city or catch the subway and trams really easily. The beds are really comfy and the kitchen really well equipped, the roof top garden is beautiful. The house is a little hidden gem, and you have the reassurance of having the best hosts in Toronto we reckon :) . Thanks so much Alex, Mark, Hilary, Dave, Eden, Charlie, Molly and George

Our large family group stayed here for a Toronto vacation and we had an excellent time! The owners were helpful and friendly and the house was in a great location. We walked everywhere. The local grocery store had the best Brie cheese I've ever had and we spent many an evening on the beautiful deck drinking wine and hanging out. The layout of the house was perfect. Thanks so much Calin and Vanessa!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Jarvis house! Our host was amazing-very responsive when we had any issues (even getting logged into the Apple TV!) There were lots of little things that made our stay more comfortable-an umbrella stroller that we could use, a great kids room with bunk bed & toys, plastic kids ware and some food such as peanut butter, extra coffee and condiments! The house is beautiful, with a rooftop deck, an extra living space downstairs and lots of comfortable rooms and bathrooms. Nice to have a covered parking spot as well. Plus we loved the Star Wars room!! We would certainly stay there again!

Great Place and lots space
Stayed with 4 adults and 5 kids. Loved the space and location. The house is 4 floors with a 5th floor that is lovely roof top balcony. Plenty of space and privacy. Loblaws (an awesome grocery with fresh food and grill) is only 2-3 minutes away. The metro is like 5 minutes away. My kids loved it.

Great option for families!
We stayed here with 4 adults and 4 kids under the age of 5 and it was perfect for us! There were lots of stairs but our kids managed them fine. It is in a great location and there is a beautiful park and playground near by. Hosts were very quick to respond and had a detailed house and neighborhood guide that was very helpful. Would definitely recommend!

blown away!
we had a great experience at the Jarvis house. the kids loved everything about it. as our trip was coming to an end, they didn't want to leave, the house was above and beyond our expectations. loved the stairs as all 8 family members had to take a photo looking down to camera. carport was a tight squeeze for our suburban rental but it got easier as time went on. calin is quick to respond to messages and gave us some great information about what to see around Toronto. we would comeback to the Jarvis house in a heartbeat on our next trip.

Very cool accommodations! Loved the decor and size. We had six in our group, which worked nicely.
Loved the location. It was quiet, clean, and very nice. Only suggestion we would make is to better light the stairs which leads to three floors. It could be dark and the color of the stairs blended in making it hard to see all of the steps. Other than that, we would highly recommend! Loved the sense of humor of the owners, only wish we had the time to invite them over for a drink! Next time! Cheers!
Sincerely,
TBR Rotary Group 2018

Lovely apartment in a great location
We travelled around and stayed at many places during our trip and this was the best.
The owner was great in assisting our large family and recommending restaurants and activities in the area. The apartment was spotless, beds comfortable and plenty of amenities. I would stay here every time

A welcome retreat in downtown Toronto
We had to find a place in Toronto on short notice - the owners were helpful and accommodating. A comfortable home with 4 spacious bedrooms and everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Close to downtown and U of T in a nice neighbourhood. Would definitely stay again the next time we’re in Toronto!

We stayed in this great downtown Toronto home in November 2015 for my brother's wedding. As we have family coming in from all over the world, we needed to find something that fit all of us and was centrally located near downtown, subway and streetcars. This house met all of our expectations and then went way beyond! What a great house, cozy, roomy and fun all wrapped up in one! We also had 2 small children and although we did have one small fall down some stairs (nothing a wee bit of ice cream didn't solve), I would say that this house is super kid-friendly. The bunk beds in the kids room were great and the toys and games stored under the bed were an added bonus, which meant these didn't need to be packed and dragged across continents! The style of the house is very modern with all the conveniences you would need for an extended stay. The decor of the house was one of our favourite parts, so much so that we may be stealing some of the ideas for our own house. There was enough room for our 8 guests as well as a family get together over lunch with another 8 visitors! The street car is a block away and the subway, grocery store, beer store and liquor store were all only a short 5-min walk away. Needless to say, we didn't need our car as much as we thought we might and parking was never a problem.
Calin and Vanessa were excellent hosts and were always at the ready to provide any support or answer any question, no matter what. We would totally recommend this house to any family or group looking to stay in Toronto and who need a bit more space.
Thank you again Calin and Vanessa for making our family reunion one to remember!

We loved it. We stayed as 7 of us with our family here for a wedding at Casa Loma and it was so much nicer than a htoel. Excellent local supermarket in Loblaws which is 3 mins away. Worked very well for us and the hosts were very responsive to our needs. Thanks so much.

Had a great time. Place was easy walking distance to the subway, extremely well setup, and perfect for exploring Toronto. The owners were awesome and the house manual is great. A $3 bus token at the airport and a $40 weekly TTC pass(you take the 192 airport rocket to Dundas sta where you can buy the weekly pass) gets you within a easy walking distance to the house and easy access to the rest of the city. Totally Recommend.

We stayed at this lovely downtown space during our family (myself, my son, my daughter and her family) vacation to Toronto, where the owners were charming and accommodating. We were 6 people and the house was newly redone and very comfortable. We had 2 cars and my daughter was able to arrange with a B&B next store to use their parking spots for a small fee. My family were able to walk to restaurants and the grocery store for wonderful food - each evening was a new treat. The subway was also just a short walk and with a city pass, my daughter and her family traveled to many of the tourist sites in the city - museums, science center, aquarium, water front to name a few. The adults went for an evening at a college pub on Prince Arthur while I stayed in with the children. We visited with old friends and with family in nearby Etobicoke. Thanks, Calin and Vanessa, for helping to make our family vacation a success.

Had a superb time in this tasteful and fun townhouse!!
Stayed here with my two kids and elderly parents and we loved all the amenities (wifi, cell phone, well equipped kitchen, toys for kids, patio to watch canada day fireworks) and the excellent location. Literally two minutes to a high quality massive grocery store.
Calin and his wife were superb hosts and even carried up the bags for my parents who arrived earlier than I did. They were easy and thoughtful and gracious. You are guaranteed an excellent stay!
