Superb

The cabins are very modern with simple but stylish interior. Very remote, but the owners live next door.

The road is 11km gravel road, but manageable without four wheel drive. An oven would have been nice to cook

Perfect place to disconnect

Beautiful location in the middle of nowhere, modern, outside seating, comfy beds and reclining chairs with footrest, fully equipped kitchen corner and a dog (who didn't visit us during our overnight stay unfortunately), hygge vibe, wifi works like magic

Nearest market is a looong ride away, drapes in the shower - please change that into a walk-in shower by replacing drapes with a glass wall, there's no switch to turn off outside lights which are disturbing when trying to fall asleep - one needs to switch the fuse off, artificial plastic candles, no mobile phone service in the location

The cabin itself is beautiful. A bit small but still very comfortable, warn and nice. The only thing I would HIGHLIGHT is that the cabin is located in a small valley called Laxárdalur (Road 856). I chose the place cause I thought I was close to Myvatn (by the map it is very close, however there aren't any direct routes and I had found a about it only on my way to the cabin from Myvatn... I had a 40 minute drive at night.. and it wasn't the best experience ) For us eventually it was worth it cause it was a beautiful stay, as well since it is located way far from everywhere, when the sky are clear the northern lights view is well seen(!!!) that's was out case.

A super location in a quiet valley, yet only 40 minutes from Myvatn and Husavik.

A wonderful quiet and peaceful location with amazingly well-equipped cabins and a very friendly welcoming doggy! We enjoyed the sense of 'escape' that these cabins have - yet with home comforts such as super-fast wifi - and the distance to nearby Myvatn (about 40 minutes) made this sense of 'isolation' not too remote at all, but quiet enough to be away from the crowds.

Just a correction: the location is actually 14 kilometres along the road from the turn-off, not 11km as the sign and welcome email state. :-)

A refuge in the nature, but come prepared beforehand

The cabin itself has a very nice architecture. It is spaciuous enough for a family. Heating is done via AC unit, but still it is warm enough. The kitchen is equipped with all needed accessories ( there is even coffee and tea available). All seems quite cosy and welcoming.

Access to location is pretty difficult. Closest town is about 11km, which means there are no food stores close. There is no 4G/5G signal in the area, so you have to rely on the indicators on the road to get to the cabin. Access with a 4WD vehicle is preferable.

the cabins are in a beautiful river valley (we had not realized when booking that it’s still a bit of a drive from Myvatn, but it was worth it) and they’re very nicely equipped with everything you need, including a little kitchen (which is great, since the location is a bit remote).

It was well equipped and we could check in by our own. The surroundings were such a beautiful scenery!

It wasn't so clean and it was far far away from everything. We had to drive around 30 minutes off the road to find it and unfortunately it wasn't worth it.

Very comfortable with friendly and helpful owners. Good location for the places of interest in the Myvatn and Husavik area also including up to Dettifos. Godafoss is 30 minutes by car away.

you cannot find the road on Google maps but you can find it on TomTom. Alternatively it is well signposted as by the a mail you get from the owners before arrival.

Beautiful, secluded cabin

Beautiful cabin, amazing and quiet environment, well equipped! We have seen the Aurora Borealis. The dog of the owners is also very cute and friendly!
