Nice but careless guests

Nice view. Shared kitchen well equipped but only for 1 family at a time since there is only 1 cooking plate. Clean room. Clean dishes, pans and cutlery. Well located (museum, gas station, grocery)

The house rules are not displayed in the common rooms. Moreover, we never met the host. So some very disgusting guests can behave as they want. And we cannot complain. Shared bathroom dirty due to some careless guests. No toilet paper in the toilets. Noisy guests who make noise at midnight. Very small kitchen but luckily we were alone when we had to use it. Microwave oven and oven are dirty and should be cleaned thoroughly. Although we were 3 people we had to pay for 4 people.

Gateway to the Westfjords

The building is from 1911 and has a wonderful historic feel to it. Large kitchen and common area downstairs. Walking distance to restaurants with a little museum and the harbor right outside. Good location to explore the Westfjords from.

The lock box my key was supposed to be in was empty when I arrived (1-2 hours after the stated check-in time), so I had to call the owner and it took a little to sort my access out. No problems after that though

Very good

The staff was very kind when I called for help with check in since I read the email incorrectly. The apartment was cute and a good size for two. We liked that there was an oven which had been absent in many other kitchens.

There were not enough towels. There were no kitchen towels or oven mitts which made cooking and washing dishes difficult. We ended up having to use the only hand towel from the bathroom as a kitchen towel then use one of our bath towels as a hand towel in the bathroom.

Very good

The room was very adorable and we loved the history of the building! The location was a great place to start off our trip in the west fjords and we were thankful that there was a restaurant open only like a 2 minute walk away!

The directions for checking in were a little confusing for our room. The door that ended up being ours had a lot of wood piled in front of it so we didn't think to try it until it was the only door left.

Lots of radiators for even heating Cute but shabby interior Good location is staying in the area

Storm door to the apt was very difficult to open - we thought it was locked but it eventually dislodged and opened after several attempts. As others have mentioned, the walls are very thin. I could hear other guests in the hallway next to the apt as if they were standing next to me. Decor was cute but shabby things like a stained red leather couch and headboard (also burned out lightbulbs, removed bathroom vent with leftover pipe showing) didn’t fit the rest of the place and gave us a bad impression of the cleanliness of the place even though everything else seemed ok.

There were mice in the apartment, we contacted the hotel in the evening and they ignored us. We packed up all our stuff to make sure the mice didn't get inside or chew some of it up, which was frustrating. In the morning we woke up to a mouse in the bathtub and the bath full of mouse droppings. I had to capture and remove the mouse, but there was nothing to clean the tub with. The property only contacted us at the beginning of the stay to say that they will charge us if all dishes aren't washed, since then we contacted them to receive a refund as the whole mouse situation was disgusting and they have been ignoring both us and the booking.com customer service people.

Nice house very well located

Perfect house just in front of the witchcraft museum! This is a typical Icelandic house in the center or holmavik ! The kitchen is very well equipped with a huge leaving room. Perfect stop if you want to visit the west fjords.

Very good

We liked the old, homey feel to the apartment, and it's cleanliness. 😀

The smoke detector is sensitive enough to fire when taking a shower in a bathroom that did not have working (audible) ventilation system. Improving or fixing the ventilation seems advisable. Also, the Mrs. disliked the beds, though I slept like a baby.

Roomy, good value.

The facility is a renovated house and has a wonderful large living room and kitchen area. Modern kitchen, great place to sit and have a cup of tea in the early morning. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but we were very pleasantly surprised at our very nice room - with electronic lock - and the very comfortable beds.

Didn't see anyone from the facility while we were there, but we received email info on how to check in and get our room key, which worked flawlessly.

nice, traditional house in an interesting and charming environment

Nice old house. Good kitchen, good living rooms. Situated in the middle of the little town, just a few steps from the withcraft museum and another restaurant, view on the harbour, 2 minutes by foot to the whale watching ship.

No one showed up, so no chance to say anything about staff or such. Our room was very tiny, and you heard everything from the other rooms, from the wc etc., which was a bit annoying. Sleeping rooms upstairs, bathroom downstairs. All in all, the room was still ok, but not more.

Good accommodation for a Guesthouse

Due to low availability on rental cars we had to postpone our trip to Iceland and we had to change the dates of our reservation. It took some time to reach our host, but they were very friendly and accepted to change the dates without any issues. We really appreciated that. The apartment is pretty big and it has everything you need. You can buy breakfast at a nearby hotel. It is very close to a restaurant and that is convenient.

During the night there was a lot of noise from the bad room walls and we had to sleep on the couch, which wasn’t as comfortable as the bad room bad. There were some mice having late night activities between the wood wall and the the actual wall. And no, they weren’t the upstairs neighbors. There were no mice in the apartment. We checked.

Nice big kitchen with all amenities including dishwasher. Big house in a nice location.

Only one bath room for all the guests (5 rooms or so).

I tried 5 times to call the place since the TV did not work (always changed to radio after 10 sec). No one answered and noone called back.
