Super cute, clean place. Shannon was great to deal with. Only two recommendations I would have is to add a microwave in the kitchen and to provide face cloths (or specify that they aren’t provided). Was great that there was coffee, toilet paper, soap, etc there. Area was real cute. Parking is okay, need to know how to parallel park (which I’m not great at lol ).

trendy apartment in a quaint/urban neighborhood
i could live here! super clean, surprisingly quiet for being in the city, close to lots of resto's, and walking distance to several neighborhoods, waterfront, & the heart of the city. Lovely.

Perfect, perfect, perfect
We were in Toronto for a volleyball tournament at the Enercare Centre and this apartment was just a short drive away! Shannon was amazing with communication which made things really easy. Lots of privacy and lots of space for two people. 10/10 would recommend!

Good place nice and neat
Great place to stay, no parking really and could use a few curtains to increase privacy. Great for a night stay.

We arrived to a lovely apartment, after walking through an ice laden walkway. The bathroom had a very high threshold and I broke my toe on the first night. If you are taller than 5’8” you might have trouble in this apt. I am 5’6” and had to do a back end in the shower to wash my hair. The dryer did not work. The second and third night we had to climb past a car parked in the driveway, very annoying. As we were leaving Shannon came out to apologize telling us the city ran out of salt for the ice.
Funny their entrance and driveway were clear, right up to our path. I cannot recommend this place as our experience was pretty negative.

Quaint suite in great Parkdale neighborhood
The suite had all the amenities we are looking for, the bed and bedding were very comfortable

Nice space for those under 6'. Shannon (host) is very nice!
The place was nicely furnished and spacious enough for the two of us. It had all the amenities we could have asked for. The dryer was broken but I hope they fix it soon. Shannon was a great host and checking in/out was very easy for us. The neighbourhood has great Tibetan restaurants and is close to two street car lines. We would gladly stay there again!

Great location!
Our 3 night booking was enjoyable and it is a comfortable place to stay. The owners were accommodating and available to answer questions. Park your car and walk everywhere or take public transit. Close to great restaurants and shopping. It is a basement apartment but it has good lighting and a couple of windows. Comfortable bed and furniture. A little noise from above but nothing that bothered us. We would not hesitate to stay there again. Thanks!

Great Stay in Toronto
My husband and I only stayed one night but it was perfect for what we needed. We arrived at 4pm to find Shannon there to greet us and provide us with keys and a parking pass ($10). The basement apartment was perfect for two people and just around the corner from Queen Street where you will find a Tim Horton's, shops, bars and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again!

Home from home
Despite a mix-up on arrival, everything else went smoothly. The apartment was equipped with everything we needed, including toiletries and condiments. Shannon and Axel were on hand for any queries and answered them promptly. As we had a late flight, they were happy for us to leave our luggage in the apartment. The area was very quiet and yet within easy walking distance of bars, restaurants shops and transport. We're we to visit Toronto again we would certainly stay here again. Thanks Shannon and Axel!

Conveniently located and only around 20 mins from the city centre by tram number 504 (the bus is much slower). It is also a short tram ride and a walk from Bloor station for the UP Express to Pearson Airport (much quicker and easier than having to go via Union). The property is generally clean and had some appliances (cooker, TV, and washing machine). The dishwasher did not work (the door won't latch shut) and nor did the tumble drier (just warms clothes rather than drying them).
Unfortunately the house's gas connection (e.g. meters, pipes and cylinder type things) is located in a sliding wardrobe which acts as a partition between the bed and the sitting area (as seen in the property's VRBO profile pictures). We made the mistake of closing all of the windows when we went out on our first day and returned to the smell of gas from the connection. Leaving a window ajar all day and night alleviates the issue. The connection however makes a constant noise which is very noticeable when you're trying to sleep (given that it is located next to the bed). I didn't get a good night's sleep for the four or five nights we were there (my wife, who is a heavier sleeper, also struggled somewhat). I couldn't see any smoke alarm or carbon monoxide alarm in the apartment which was very concerning. I would want to get out of the property very quickly given the proximity of the gas connection and given that the door is located on the other side of the apartment from the bedroom. Hence the 2/3 star rating.

A lovely apartment with lots of space. All the facilities you could need and a quiet area. Buses and trams are closeby on either Queen or King street straight to downtown. We didn't eat in the local area as we had tickets for the ballgame and went to the distillery area the second night (just one bus ride away!)
Shannon was quick to respond to questions and for a small fee she can provide a parking permit which is a real bonus if you drive there. Local shops area close by.

Shannon was friendly and easy to work with and the apartment was well kept. It'd be best to let her know up front if you plan on driving because parking on and around the street is crazy. However, she can print you a parking permit for a reasonable fee.
Keep in mind this is a basement apartment so if you are tall, you may be feel a little claustrophobic with the low ceilings, especially in the bathroom. Also, when going down the steps to enter the apartment, you will be met with that "wet basement" smell.

I really enjoyed my stay. The retreat was very clean and well appointed. If you are tall you have to watch the lower ceiling points.
I didn't have a vehicle and walked or took the street car on King St or the bus on Queen St to downtown. Transit is pretty easy to figure out.
Shannon and Axel were very accommodating.

We came to enjoy all the fun things Toronto had to offer, this cozy full size basement apartment was perfect for my wife and I. the place was clean, had a comfortable bed, furniture, cable tv and wifi. Shannon was very helpful with getting us settled, and answered any questions right away. The neighborhood is nice, and we felt safe walking day, or night. Parking in Toronto is a headache and expensive, we left our car on the street (Shannon can get you a parking pass for cheap) and we took public transportation (busses, trolly, and subway) all very close by and run all night. (about 10-15 min by bus to Rodgers Center, CN, Aquarium). only drawback is it could use air conditioner, (it was exceptionaly hot days) although the big fan did work good.
Great price, great people, great location.

Everything needed for a little getaway...
Apartment was fully stocked and well described by Shannon and Axel. Private entrance in back of house - although can hear family from time to time upstairs and outside. Had everything we needed for a few days in the city. Streetcar stop was one block away, grocery stores and restaurants within walking distance. Only thing to take into consideration...ceilings are low if you are over 6 feet tall!

Shannon & Axel's accommodations are terrific. Clean, comfortable and in a lovely neighborhood. Shannon was very accessible for questions and made us feel at home. The apartment is bright and contained everything that we needed during our stay.
Highly recommended!

This is a basement apartment in a nice old Victorian house. It has been renovated quite nicely - crisp and clean and everything you need: fridge, oven/cooktop, dishwasher, etc. Location has you right near the streetcar and/or bus. Typical busy urban area - we felt safe walking on Queen Street and surrounding streets. Perfect for guests without a car. Parking is dicey - owner charges a small fee for a parking permit, but the minute you leave your space, it's gone and you might not find another one on that block. An active young family lives upstairs so there is the sound of footsteps before and after school. It didn't bother us at all - we have grandchildren so understand the dynamic. Owner is very nice and accommodating - she met us at check-in - easy communication via texting. All in all, this is a VERY good option for Toronto travelers!

The apartment is very comfortable, from the overall feel, to the bed and living room furniture. Very private and quiet. Shannon was always a short text away and quick to respond. Parkdale where the apartment is located is destined to be the 'next' place in Toronto, right now it's, shall we say, a very interesting part of the city.
